Cottage in Lamlash Bay, Isle of Arran, Strathclyde, Scotland - peaceful village location 2 mins from the beach

Jubilee is a charming stone built cottage with stunning views which has the air of a ‘gingerbread house’ from the outside, inside you will find a cosy, relaxed feel with all your comforts in mind. The lounge and bedrooms are all south facing maximising the view. The lounge/diner has a log burning stove and window seats, a rocking chair provides the perfect spot to put your feet up and soak in the views. There are two bedrooms, one double and one single, fully equipped kitchen, bathroom and utility area. Delightfully appealing and beautifully situated there is a lovely patio/ terrace area where you can sit and enjoy the views of Lamlash Bay and Holy Isle. The patio has a bench seat, table and chairs and a love seat which looks onto a delightful enclosed garden scented by the many herbs and flowers. The village and beach are 2 minutes walk away and are perfect for the many eating places, sitting or jumping of the pier, sailing, waterskiing, angling, tennis and pitch and putt. The island also has 7 challenging golf courses. Or relax and watch the native red squirrels, birds and boats from Jubilee’s scenic terrace and garden.

Beautiful cottage in an idyllic locatin

This was our first stay at Jubilee cottage although we have been holidaying in Arran for 18 years and i have to say that Jubilee cottage is the nicest cottage we have stayed in. My daughter did say she thought the new Auchrannie lodges were nicer as they are really modern but the Auchrannie doesn't have the stunning open views of Lamlash bay and Holy Isle that Jubilee cottage enjoys. It's a beautiful little cottage very well equipped and with fantastic outdoor space - lovely front and rear gardens and a patio. The location is superb - a stones throw from the beach and Lamlash's bars and hotels, but at the same time up a quiet dead-end meaning there is no through traffic. We will definitely be back.

Wonderful cottage with fantastic views

What a wonderful cottage! I was reluctant to submit a review as I wanted to keep this place a secret! Comfortable, clean and perfectly equipped with everything you'll need for a relaxing holiday on Arran. Set above the main road in a peaceful cul de sac; a stone's throw from of all the local amenities (Co-op and 3 pubs/restaurants). A spectacular view of Lamlash Bay from every front facing window, Red Squirrels running past in the morning and a glorious view of the sunrise over Holy Island. Beautiful gardens to sit in and relax and parking is just opposite the front of the cottage. The small road to the cottage is quite steep, not an issue for us, but not ideal for some. Truly a perfect location to explore the island. Brodick is 10 minutes away by car; Arran Aromatics and the brewery shop are worth a visit - use the Fisherman's Walk to get there from Brodick Bay, you'll also go past the Heritage Museum. Lochranza is about 40 minutes away; look out for the Red Deer and Golden Eagles and visit the distillery (and maybe buy some fantastic award winning whisky!).

First Class Home from Home

Jubilee Cottage is exactly as described. Booking is easy and hassle free. Accommodation was spotless with all that we could have wanted for our holiday. We would have no problem recommending this cottage. We have been to Jubilee on numerous occasions over the last 12 years. It is in a great location for access to the local amenities.

Absolutely fantanstic

The property being recommended by a friend fulfilled all our expectations, Perfect location with stunning views on Lamlash Bay, very-well maintained cosy cottage equipped to a high standard, Thanks to wonderful weather we could also use the nice terrace (see photo) or the beautiful garden opposite the cottage. Possiblities either to prepare the excellent local food yourself (we bought the Arran Butcher's Angus steaks at the local Coop) or to eat out in the surroundings (eg the Drift Inn, Lamlash). Denise the owner was very kind and helpful to us people from the continent with any difficulties we had organizing our holiday and gave all the necessary advice we needed. No need to hire a car as the bus service on Arran is very good.

A lovely cottage set just above the village of Lamlah. Easy access to the shops/pubs and very secluded. All modern amenities and beautifully decorated. Private parking across the road.

We loved Jubilee the moment we saw her, our hearts were stolen by her stunning view of the bay. The cottage is elevated from the village, on a quiet cul de sac overlooking Lamlash Bay, Holy Isle, the shore and village but in 2 minutes you are at the beach and all the amenities Lamlash Village has to offer with the varied coffee shops, bars and restaurants.

Activity and Interests


It is a 1 minute walk down The Brae to the beach which is a mixture of sand and stone at low tide and stony at high tide.


Brodick Pier where the ferry docks is about 3 miles by road. The ferry crossing to Ardrossan Harbour is 55 mins where the train connects with ferries and links both Glasgow International Airport, Glasgow Central Station approx 75 mins and Prestwick Airport approx 40 mins. The journey time by car to Glasgow Airport 50 mins and Prestwick Airport 20mins.


It is a 1 minute walk into the village. restaurants, pubs, cafes and tearooms, pharmacy, Co-op, newsagent, DIY, individual shops, Arran hospital and doctor's surgery. The Pier, Yacht Club, Slip and Holy Isle ferry. Pier jumping at high tide only the brave hearted go without a wetsuit!
