About Rob Day

We have always dreamed of owning a place by the sea in this part of Kent, since visiting from London when we were kids.

We wanted to find somewhere by the sea, away from crowds and traffic, but without sacrificing creature comforts. We love the peace, space and the amazing light on the beach outside but also the award-winning independent shops and restaurants in and around Deal.

We spend as much time as possible at the property but will always do our best to accommodate guest bookings and do not "black out" any dates. We hope you love it here as much as we do!

Rob Day purchased this apartment in 2013

Why Rob Day chose Kent

We think Deal and Walmer offer the perfect combination of traditional British seaside atmosphere, unspoilt and historic architecture, and miles of clean and often deserted beaches. Walmer is the quiet and leafy end of town with an incredible sense of peace and space on the beach, which is often completely empty even in August.

Our dog appreciates the canine company to be found out walking along the coast path.

We love to cook and eat out: there is a market, superb independent butchers and fishmongers, delicatessen, independent wine merchants and a large Sainsburys all close by. At least five chippies, countless cafes, and a long list of quality independent pubs and restaurants for all budgets.

What makes this apartment unique

The apartment is roomy and spacious. Parking is free and easy even in high season.

Everything is within walking distance - whether you want to visit the castles, eat out, buy supplies or head up the cliffs towards Dover.

Notes:
Notes on accommodation: The apartment is on the ground floor at the rear of the building shown in the photographs. Outside: At the front of the house there is a large and well maintained communal garden with high screen hedging all around, mainly laid to lawn with two benches. This is shared with the other apartments in the building and is accessed through a locked gate. This is useful on windy days but with so much open beach and grass all around you might not bother to use it! There is a small terrace with flower beds outside the living room providing access to the entrance to the building. Utility Room: Built-in laundry cupboard with washing machine and tumble dryer, central heating boiler and lots of space for towel storage. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: All bed linen and bath, face, hand and kitchen towels are provided. Please bring your own beach towels. The property can be cleaned and linen changed at any point in your stay for an extra charge. Other: There is plenty of room to store bikes in the communal entrance hall. The apartment also has its own large entrance hall with extensive coat hanging and space for shoes, boots, buggies etc.

Lovely comfortable flat so close to the sea front.

The flat was clean and very well appointed. All the cooking and dinning equipment you could need. Comfortable beds and furniture and a luxurious bath.

Very enjoyable

  • 4 of 5

I booked this apartment for my family as I already live in Deal, and it was perfect, my brother in- law is in a wheel chair but can walk a few steps so he could manage the couple of steps leading into the apartment as you would not be able to get a wheel chair up them, and then the inside of the apartment was all on one level so was ideal, my family thought it was lovely and comfortable and so close to the beach, overall we could not fault it we all had a brilliant family few days together (perfect)

Nice appartment, nice stay!

  • 4 of 5

We (5 adults) spent a week at this appartment, which fulfilled all our needs!

The appartment is spacious, the kitchen fully fitted, the bedrooms offer plenty of space, parking is very easy! We spent every day walking along the beach, which is just very relaxing.

Camilla and Rob were helpful in every way, thanks again! Just one piece of advice for advertising this place: There are three steps from the street to get to the entrance door which are fairly difficult to take if you are in a wheelchair. We managed fine after trying a couple of times what worked best but maybe it makes sense to make this clear in the description too.

Would I recommend this place? YES :-)

Lovely character property in beautiful location

  • 4 of 5

Had a lovely week at this apartment. We were very lucky with the weather, beautiful sunshine everyday and literally only a stones throw from the beach. Great location to explore surrounding area. Beds very comfy, apartment spacious plenty of room for myself, my mother and her dog Blue.

Impressive and comfortable apartment with all you need

  • 5 of 5

Excellently situated with unrestricted parking and 30 seconds from the beach.

The apartment had all mod cons and comfortable beds and furniture. The apartment has a homely feel and feels like it has been done up as a home, rather than a specific holiday rental. Great Tech gadgets with free view TV and wonderful BOSE ipod and tv speaker system.

It was great to see a kitchen fitted out with sets of matching utensils, have stayed in so many places where the cutlery , pans etc are made up of a hotch potch of cast a ways from somewhere else. The heating works extremely well and it was freezing outside when we stayed, a tiny bit of snow but we were so toasty I was frightened of spontaneously combusting!

Walmer and Deal were great, Deal was a bit like going back in time, but friendly, amazing grocery shops and cafe's. I can't believe we saw 6 ladies wearing full length real fur coats out and about. Clearly a classy area and with fantastic architecture everywhere. We would definitely go back and would be nice to do it in the summer.
