La Croix is situated on the edge of the village high above the sunflower and maize fields up in the hills just south of the town of Siorac en Perigord.

Ground Floor

Here you will find two double bedrooms and one triple, as well as two bathrooms and two separate WC's

The floors are tiled throughout downstairs, including the gamesroom which is also located on this floor.

First Floor:

A staircase leads from the main hallway up to the open plan living area.

Here you will find spacious open plan kitchen / dinner / lounge areas incorporating high vaulted ceilings with exposed timbers and thick stone feature walls creating a cool environment even in the height of summer.

There is an imposing stone fireplace, around which there are two armchairs and two sofas, as well as the TV, and DVD player

There are two balconies offering covered eating even if it's raining. Both have a dining table and chairs and very impressive views.

Outside:

There is a private swimming pool in the courtyard, fully automatically heated, which is 26' x 13'

Around the poolside there are loungers, parasols and tables

All linen (beds, bathroom and kitchen) is provided and included in the cost

Local Attractions:

There are many ancient towns in this region that date back to the Middle Ages, including Belves, Sarlat, Domme, St, Cyprien, Monpazier all of which have markets on different days. The river Dordogne flows through the region and it is possible to take canoe and pleasure boat trips along it. There are two golf courses within three miles of the barn as well as restaurants in the above mentioned towns. Other activities such as, walking cycling, horse riding are possible in this area.

About the Owner

We are retired and live in Southern England in the New Forest and have lived there for over 20 years. We both have a sporting background having both played racket games at county level. We are both engaged in local voluntary work. Geoff is a current Rotarian of the New Forest Club and is a past magistrate and local councillor. Bridget is the subscription secretary of the Friends of the local Church, and does Church flowers when required and helps at the village Over 70's Club as a driver. We own two rescued cats, named George and Mildred, and have in the past had a dog even though our french house is not suitable for pets. The barn is privately owned by us and was bought from the local farmer 20 years ago. It was renovated using modern methods and old materials where possible.

Super House super locaton

We had a very pleasant two weeks in the Dordogne. The arrangements with the owners were very easy and could not have been more helpful. The area is beautiful and a great location for touring around this part of France. We would certainly recommend it. The property has been beautifully done and the pool was great as it was very hot.

We love the area and saw the potential for the development of the barns. Local English friends helped us buy them from the local farmer. It is situated in a quiet but easily accessible location on the edge of the village. We are involved in the local village activities with our neighbours. We enjoy the relaxed life and beautiful scenery.

Stay tax £0 per night, per person. This amount will be due to the owner upon arrival. Does not apply to children under 13 years.

Booking Notes:
30% deposit within five days to secure booking
70% balance payable in full six weeks before departure, a reminder will be sent.

Extra cleaning / damages deposit of £100 per week will be required and is returnable at the end of tenancy.

Taxe de Sejour is chargeable in all cases for persons 13 and over - 50p per person per night.

Changeover Day:
Bookings are Saturday to Saturday on a weekly basis.
Entry to the barn cannot be before 5.00 p.m on arrival and departure must be by 10.00 a.m.
This is out of consideration for our cleaners schedule.

Quiet peaceful location but still in touch with the village. Eating out on each of the two covered balconies is a delight. On the larger covered balcony the view across the valley to the hill top town of Belves is lovely to enjoy an evening meal. The private heated swimming pool is easily monitored from the balcony which faces the village. VISITORS COMMENTS: "We had a great week in your house, which is one of the best places in which we have holidayed in France.
