About Tim Goodall

We (Tim and Emma) are putting our family home up for holiday lets. We live and work in Dubai, but have had our second home in Salcombe since 2007. Salcombe is where my wife's family live and so is somewhere we will continue to visit, in addition to the fact it is in a beautiful part of the world. The house was gutted and stripped back allowing us to create a very personal special, albeit compact, family home for our holidays in the UK. We are not letting the home as a business but more of a sustainable need given it is a second home used once a year. We have put a lot of love, care and thought into the design of the interior and outdoor spaces, and we hope you will enjoy our home as much as we do.

Tim Goodall purchased this cottage in 2005

Why Tim Goodall chose Salcombe

Salcombe is a quintessential English seaside town. Very picturesque town, active sailing and fishing harbour with plenty of outdoor scenic and activity opportunities.

What makes this cottage unique

Our Property has the benefits of:

- easy access, on the flat, a few minutes walking distance to town

- off street parking

- outdoor living area

- all mod cons

If you have a bigger party, and require more bedrooms and sleeping space, it may be possible to have a twinned booking with next door [which we also own] No 5 Shadycombe Road

Fabulous cottage!

  • 5 of 5

The cottage has been beautifully renovated, was totally sparkling and had everything that we needed, including towels which I thought was brilliant. My husband has a mobility issue but he managed the stairs to the first floor as the oar on one side and the side of the stairs made it possible. The parking was fantastic to have but made for a little hilarity getting in and out with my Mondeo estate.....but it is possible!!! The outside space was great to have and we managed to sit out to have coffee in March as it is a little suntrap. The amount of information provided by Tim and Emma before our visit was amazing. Re Salcombe - the cottage is easily within walking distance of the town centre and the harbour but be aware of hills if any issues with mobility and there is very little parking within the town itself. For a fab cream tea and/or cake, would recommend The Winking Prawn (totally in love with this name!). Thanks Tim and Emma for the use of your cottage, it was lovely. Only left a day early because of the amber warning for snow which proved to be a good decision - A30 closed the following day!!

A little gem in Salcombe

  • 5 of 5

Deceptively spacious cottage.

Well designed, good decor, everything there that you needed, including the good range of music on the iPod.

Our whole party really enjoyed our stay.

Excellent base for the coast walkers.

Tim & Emma have got the cottage spot on and reply to any queries straight away.

We all thoroughly recommend this lovely little cottage.

  • 5 of 5

Cottage is in a great location, warm and cosy with everything you could possibly need. Even has a parking space! This is our second stay for new year and we had another wonderful time. Tim the owner is great to deal with and quickly answers any queries raised. We will definitely be back and would recommend to couples and families looking for a great place to stay in Salcombe. Thank you Tim!

Lovely cottage and area!

  • 5 of 5

Stayed over the xmas period with a family of 7 and had a really nice time. The cottage has everything you need and the kitchen was perfect for cooking a big xmas dinner. The location is ideal for nice walks or just a close selection of pubs and restaurants.

Further Details:

The local shops are very good. You will find Coleman's a family butcher , delicious baker, fishmongers, delicatessen shops, grocers, gift shops, clothing, interiors & home-wares etc and the best sweetie shop you have ever seen, which the children love. There is a Lloyds bank and a Boots chemist. The clothing shops are interesting and varied for wetter days. We love "Chattels" at the end of Fore street opposite the butchers, for its interesting selection of home-ware, interiors and gifts. We love the sausages from Colemans the butchers. There are numerous restaurants and pubs for eating out and serving locally caught fish or shell fish; Captain Flints has great pizza's, but it is very popular and queues are to be expected; Salcombe ice-cream is a must! For a very good curry on a Friday night at The Pilchard Inn on Burgh Island, go to Bigbury which is accessed at high tide by a tractor, or walk over the spit of sand for an adventure. Newton Ferries has The Ship Inn on the tidal river's edge. Kingsbridge has two of the usual supermarkets. Walking in the area is so varied with Dartmoor close at hand and the Ramblers welcome people to join them three times a week. There are National Trust houses, e.g. Sharpitor on the cliffs at the mouth of Salcombe estuary and another at Dartmouth.
