About the Owner

Hi, my name is Diana Richardson. My husband Mike and I purchased this house just over 13 years ago and have lived here very happily. Family and friends have enjoyed many weekends visiting us and the surrounding countryside. We have now moved house due to work responsibilities and thought that it was time to let others enjoy what we have had for the past 13 years.

I have enjoyed making the house suitable for holiday letting although it still has many quirks and the character that we have loved. We hope that people who come here enjoy their stay and feel it is a real 'home from home'.

Wonderful stay

  • 5 of 5

We spend a wonderful time in this little cottage. It is really well located, close to Snowdon, but also Porthmadog or Betws-y-coed. The cottage is everything we were expecting. Comfy, very well equipped and clean. And after a cold day of trekking, the chimney is just the "cherry on the cake".

Super cottage in an ideal location

  • 5 of 5

An open day at Bangor University gave us the excuse to book a short break in Snowdonia and the cottage was in the perfect location for our purpose. The booking process was very straightforward and we received all the information we needed prior to our visit, with an invitation to contact Diana if there was anything else we needed to know.

The entrance to the street where the cottage is located is very narrow and we missed it at first but once we arrived at the cottage everything was as good as previous reviewers had said. The cottage was warm and homely, spotlessly clean and well equipped (plenty of reading matter for those with more time than we had!) and despite being in the middle of the village it is very quiet.

The location is handy for visiting the coast and Anglesey as well as the mountains of Snowdonia and there's a range of peaks just a short, steep walk from the front door. A short break was really not long enough so we secretly hope our daughter will chose Bangor University to give us more excuses to return.

Fantastic charming, homely cottage

  • 5 of 5

After a difficult outward journey when I finally arrived at the cottage with my German Shepherd and Diana's much welcomed and helpful directions, I opened the door and just smiled! It was homely and had a very warm and welcoming atmosphere and we just loved it!! Totally chilled out and did lots of walking; must recommend driving the Llanberis Pass - stunning scenery and plenty of photo opportunities; the Ugly Tearoom on the way back is absolutely gorgeous....like something from Hansel and Gretel. The walks up the mountain from the cottage are a MUST for those that enjoy walking.

Thank you Diana for sharing your lovely home and it was great to meet you. Planning our next trip already and this time may even get to go on the Zip Wire in Bethesda.

Best wishes,

Jules & Gunner

cosy , clean cottage... a perfect getaway

  • 5 of 5

We have recently returned from a 5 day stay at Diana's cottage. It was cosy, welcoming and had all the necessities you would need, we had an 18 month year old with us and just managed to squeeze a travel cot in one of the rooms which was great, the rooms were very small so only one cot could fit if anyone's expecting to fit more than one small child in ... it probably wouldn't work ... howvere we expected this, as would expect from a cottage, and did not phase us at all. Ideally situated for our climb of snowdon and our visit to the surf snowdonia wave park which was great. Great back garden with BBQ area and friendly neighbourhood with a local shop and pub in easy walking distance, also a small child's play area close by. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would like to thank Diana for letting us share her little cottage with us ... we only wish we could have stayed longer.
