When you live in Canada, you need to be chasing the sun at any opportunity.

Portugal is one of the handful of countries I really enjoy spending some time every year.

The choice of Portugal fits with all of the attributes I look for in an holiday abroad such as being friendly, safe and modern in addition to being affordable with good weather and food. Culture, history and beauty are other factors I consider.

I like it so much that I have purchased accommodations for myself when visiting and to make them available to other visitors for the remainder of the year.

Quarteira (Search Property Ref:P8522) and Vilamoura (Search Property Ref:P14562) in central Algarve were chosen due to its proximity to the airport and the highways heading to Lisbon and its great beaches and surroundi

Great little property

The apartment was in a great situation - close to all the amenities, the marina and the golf courses. Odett was wonderful and settled us in very well.

We particularly liked the shower which was very powerful - it's made us think about the power of ours at home now!

All in all we had a great week - thank you for the stay.

An excellent studio apartment. Very spacious with all mod cons including wifi and cable tv.

This is an excellent apartment that has obviously been totally refurbed recently. All mod cons including wifi & cable TV. The shower room also has a washing machine in it too. The location is excellent as it's walking distance to the marina and bars & restaurants. I'd have no hesitation in staying here again and would recommend it to anyone on their own or a couple.

Awesome location

This property, besides being fully upgraded and trendy, is also located in the PERFECT location! Vilamoura is a beautiful area, and this location is approx. a 5 minute walk to the marina, and approx. a 10 min walk to the pristine beach. It also comes with bicycle rental, and there is a supermarket in the plaza area immediately outside of this building. This apt has all of the amenities and was our favourite stay in Portugal. The owner (Ray) went over and above to help us with our overall stay in Portugal, not just his property. Overall awesome experience. I highly recommend it. Having some local wine while watching the sunset from the balcony was also a bonus.

A fantastic little treasure in the heart of Vilamoura

This little apartment is ideal for a couple.It's clean and modern inside so don't let the outside fool you. We loved sipping our Mateus on the balcony watching the sun set. A welcome addition this year was a new shower door. Odette greeted us like old friends as we had stayed there before and had got a food pack in as we were late arriving and now looking to book again for next year.

Beautifully fitted and decorated

We had a lovely week here The apartment is very well thought out and we didn't want for anything. Only 5-10 min stroll to the marina and a 20 minute walk along the new promenade to Quiteria. The weather was glorious and the food was lovely (Chicken piri piri) my fave. Ray the owner of the property was excellent with his communications so we felt confident before we travelled. Look forward to going back!

Location

From the Owner

As I mentioned above, Portugal is one of a handful of countries that our family choose to spend part of the year. The resort town of Vilamoura is the location of one of the residences I stay when visiting this beautiful country mainly in the Spring and Fall months. I like the upscale environment, the not so crowded streets and the simplicity, convenience and location of the condo. With supermarket and friendly cafes right on the grounds and its proximity to the Vilamoura beach and the world famous Falesia beach as well as the "Jet Set" social environment of its renown marina.

Activity and Interests

Nearest Airport : Faro Internatinal at 30 Kilometres Nearest Barpub : Many available at 0.1 Kilometres Nearest Golf : a few at walking distance at 1 Kilometres Nearest Restaurant : Many to choose from at 0.2 Kilometres Nearest Beach : Vilamoura and the top rated Falesia Beaches at 0.5 Kilometres Car: not necessary

Coast/Beach:

Within walking distance you have a few beaches of great quality.

Within 5 minutes walking or less biking, you will have the Marina Beach; within 10 minutes you have the Falesia Beach voted as one of the top beaches in the world. It extends for miles all the way to Albufeira. If you walk a bit longer, (you can use the bikes only to the edge of Vilamoura) you can go to the Quarteira Beach and if driving, you are not far from The various beaches in Albufeira and Portimao.

Travel:

Vilamoura is located at about 30 Km from Faro International airport. A taxi fair is around 30 Euros and Takes about 30 minutes.

A car is not essential as most amenities are within walking distance and there is a lot to do and see in Vilamoura and Quarteira. If you wish to visit other areas of Algarve than a car will be helpful.

Distances:

From your building, you can reach: Within 300m - The marina, Supermarket, bank, church, restaurants, cafes, night life and other various services.

Within 500m - Both Marina and Falesia beaches, Casino, Golf Courses, museums, medical assistance, pharmacies, police etc.

Within 1km - The daily fish and vegetables market at the fisherman’s marina in Quarteira, the Quarteira beach and its promenade, the weekly (Wednesdays) farmers and gipsy market, a large variety of specialty restaurants

  • Notes on accommodation: Included in your rental are 2 cards to access and use the bicycle network of Vilamoura providing you with an optional convenient and fun way to get around. The condominium building is located in well maintained grounds located in a most desirable area of this beautiful resort by the sea. Plenty of parking, quality supermarket, cafes, banks and church are located right on the grounds. Your host will be waiting for you at your arrival. She will provide you with the keys for the doors and safe as well as showing you all the details of the suite and what to expect. A folder is provided with straight forward instructions for operating the equipment and the access to the secured WI FI and to the safe. It includes as well maps for Vilamoura and Quarteira with reference to interesting spots and shortcuts for walking and biking in town. You are welcome to add your own notes to it. Outside: The grounds around the building are well maintained and have a variety of park benches, gardens and flowers. There are various free parking areas around the building and some are visible from the balcony as you can see from the photos. Right on the grounds, you will find as well a supermarket, bakery, banks, church, cafes and bars with outdoor patios, a bicycle network station, trash and recycling disposal station as well as other services; again refer to the photos. Utility Room: Supplied an iron board and iron, vacuum cleaner, broom and dust pan, floor washing bucket and mop, safe, washing machine, outdoor cloth drying station, lots of storage for your clothes and belongings. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: With emphasis on cleanliness, this heated and air conditioned vacation condo is fully equipped. All linen and towels are supplied. A mid week towel/linen change and light maid service is provided optionally for a small fee.
