Beautiful Cottage

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at Holly Cottage for four nights during October half-term. Slingsby is a lovely village and Holly Cottage is a charming little jewel within it. The cottage is exceptionally well-appointed, particularly the kitchen. The two bedrooms are sizeable, especially as the second bedroom is a single. The garden, looking out towards the village church, is lovely. Facility-wise, parking is no problem and there is a local village shop for essentials just a short walk away as is the wonderful pub. We had a wonderful time and are considering coming back - and we never go back to the same place!

Beautiful cottage

  • 5 of 5

A charming cottage in a lovely village location. It was quiet and peaceful and equipped to a very high srandard. The enclosed garden was perfect for the dog and a pleasant environment in which to sit. Slingsby village is ideally situated to explore the coast, as well as the Pickering, Malton,Hemsley and other Yorkshire attractions such as Castle Howard.

Absolutely gorgeous

Holly Cottage has the most beautiful, picture-postcard setting in the village of Slingsby. It made the perfect place to spend a happy few weeks; I could not recommend it more highly.

A pretty and comfortable cottage

  • 5 of 5

A really lovely cottage in a pretty location, which served as an excellent base for days out and walks in the local countryside. Very clean, nicely furnished and could tell that this was a cottage that the owner used themselves and kept to a very high standard. Internet was a bonus, as was the delicious cake on arrival. Castle Howard practically on the doorstep, lovely moorland walks and pretty villages (Thornton-Le-Dale and Helmsley being particular favourites) close by. Further afield found Hunmanby Gap beach (south of Filey), which was super for the dog. I would highly recommend this cottage and would be very happy to return.

From the Owner

We fell in love with the peace and tranquillity that Yorkshire lifestyle offers. The region around Malton is a "foodie paradise", with excellent quality dining experiences. The cottage is easily accessible to all major routes. Slingsby is a very friendly village with a close community and lively village life.
