About Glynnis Maguire

We have owned this property for 11 years, it has been lovingly renovated to a very high standard. We live close by and are on hand should you need any help but love the fact you are secreted away so can be completely private if you so wish.

Why Glynnis Maguire chose Windermere

Annisgarth Howe is truly special. Particularly spacious but still retaining charm and cosiness. There are amazing walks on the doorstep, it is close to all amenities but yet secreted away.

What makes this cottage unique

Annisgarth Howe is the perfect location. It is quietly tucked away but you can walk to the top of Brantfell in 20 mins, where you will enjoy the spectacular view of Lake Windermere, you can even see the sea on a clear day! Should you prefer the shops and local hostelries a ten minute walk will do the job. Another couple of minutes will bring you directly to the watersedge, with the chance to hop on a steamer for a magical trip on the Lake.

Perfect stay!

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay at Annisgarth howe. The house has everything you need and offers comfort and privacy. Its situated on a hill in a quiet area 7-10 minutes walk from touristic Windermere and close enough to shops bars restaurants etc. We left our car behind most of the days. Very friendly owners.

Nicely furnished comfortable home with added extras in quiet location

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed our stay in well maintained cottage and the food basket was a nice touch. The location is quiet and the lake about 10 min walk although allow bit longer for return as it is mostly uphill. The owners were on hand for any queries if required.

Very smart property all round, with some really nice extra touches too.

  • 5 of 5

Really cosy and hidden away - just what we were looking for. Close enough to get to the lake and shops, but far enough away from the busy tourist culture. Definitely interested in coming back!

A Perfect Hide-away

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I stayed in this property for 4 nights. It was a very last minute decision as our car was stranded and we had had to extend our holiday. We were able to contact the owners through the property booking system and they were so very helpful.

In the write up, the owner describes cleanliness as being her top priority, and this was clearly apparent as soon as we stepped in the door. Every thing was immaculately laid out and the decor and furnishings were of a very high standard.

The kitchen had everything you need including dishwasher and washer dryer, there was even a good range of condiments in the cupboard.

There were two large flat screen TV's in the property, one being a smart TV, so we were able to snuggle up on the corner sofa and catch-up with Sherlock. There is also WiFi throughout, a large selection of books, a few DVD's and some games on hand.

The bathroom is well designed with a lovely power shower, and as always very clean.

The king-size bed was just what my back was needing after sleeping a week on a very soft mattress at our previous property. It was firm but comfortable. That combined with the black-out blinds and the very quiet location of the property made it so easy to enjoy a lazy morning.

The property itself is hidden away by a tall hedge and has it's own small garden and outside seating area, which if the weather had been better we would have been tempted to use.

You can walk down to the lake several ways from the property, all of them taking approx. 10 mins, however, plan on it taking a little longer on the way back as it is a bit of a climb.

In every way, I would highly recommend staying here, and would like to thank the owners for their kind hospitality.
