About Glynnis Maguire

We have owned this property for 9 years, it has been lovingly renovated to a very high standard. We live close by and are on hand should you need any help but love the fact you are secreted away so can be completely private if you so wish.

What makes this cottage unique

Annisgarth Howe is the perfect location. It is quietly tucked away but you can walk to the top of Brantfell in 20 mins, where you will enjoy the spectacular view of Lake Windermere, you can even see the sea on a clear day! Should you prefer the shops and local hostelries a ten minute walk will do the job. Another couple of minutes will bring you directly to the watersedge, with the chance to hop on a steamer for a magical trip on the Lake.

A Perfect Hide-away

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I stayed in this property for 4 nights. It was a very last minute decision as our car was stranded and we had had to extend our holiday. We were able to contact the owners through the property booking system and they were so very helpful.

In the write up, the owner describes cleanliness as being her top priority, and this was clearly apparent as soon as we stepped in the door. Every thing was immaculately laid out and the decor and furnishings were of a very high standard.

The kitchen had everything you need including dishwasher and washer dryer, there was even a good range of condiments in the cupboard.

There were two large flat screen TV's in the property, one being a smart TV, so we were able to snuggle up on the corner sofa and catch-up with Sherlock. There is also WiFi throughout, a large selection of books, a few DVD's and some games on hand.

The bathroom is well designed with a lovely power shower, and as always very clean.

The king-size bed was just what my back was needing after sleeping a week on a very soft mattress at our previous property. It was firm but comfortable. That combined with the black-out blinds and the very quiet location of the property made it so easy to enjoy a lazy morning.

The property itself is hidden away by a tall hedge and has it's own small garden and outside seating area, which if the weather had been better we would have been tempted to use.

You can walk down to the lake several ways from the property, all of them taking approx. 10 mins, however, plan on it taking a little longer on the way back as it is a bit of a climb.

In every way, I would highly recommend staying here, and would like to thank the owners for their kind hospitality.

Me and my boyfriend visited the Lake District for the first time to celebrate my 21st birthday and we both absolutely fell in love with the place!

The cottage itself really was a prefect retreat for two. Beautifully furnished and clean, a great place to return and relax after a long day of exploring the Lakes.

We both agreed the location was great, really quiet and secluded yet only a short walk to bowness and not much further to windermere where we had plenty of choice for eating and drinking out.

We would highly recommend this property and would love to return one day. Thank you for having us!

Wonderfully Relaxing Stay

  • 5 of 5

We came away to relax and the property did exactly that - it facilitated our relaxation. It is so close to Bowness, to Windermere and all the various attractions in the Lake Distruct. There are innumerable food outlets, restaurants etc within easy reach. The Ferry across the lake and in up to Hawkshead, Coniston and Ambleside/ Grasmere was fun. We even took in a movie at the cinema. It was so comfortable that at times we simply stayed in and chilled out. There is nothing we were short of at the property and there was a generous food pack on arrival including bread, milk and other goodies. The property was so clean it felt like home from home! Many many thanks for a great stay! Will definitely recommend it to friends and family.

Possibly one of the loveliest places to stay in the Lakes!

Me and my partner had an amazing week with the property being situated so close to the lake and shops, but far enough away to feel like we were on our own and with no light pollution the sky was truly magical at night! Especially with the owl who kept saying hello.

Friendly owners who added a few personal touches, like the hamper and bits in the cupboards really added to the character of the property.

We would recommend it to anyone looking for a week or weekend away and we're already planning another visit next year!

A lovely cottage for two, beautifully furnished and decorated with a private little garden ideal for summer evenings. It is perfectly placed in a quiet location but within easy walking distance of Bowness, Windermere and the lake.

The owners are next door and happy to help if you need them.

We would recommend this property
