Cottage in Bowness-on-Windermere, Lake District, Cumbria, England - A Peaceful Location, 10 Minutes Stroll To The Lake And 15 Minutes To The Fells

Annisgarth Howe is a private spacious one bedroomed hideaway, perfect for the couple ( or young family - there's room for a travel cot in the bedroom) wishing to get away from it all! It is beautifully decorated using Farrow and Ball soft greys, hand painted furniture and unique vintage finds. There are lots of added extras, to ensure your stay is just right, your comfort is our priority. The cottage has 2 large flat screen TVs, iPod docking station and full WiFi internet signal. Should you wish to just chill, watch a movie or read a book, we have a mini library at your disposal. The garden is private with a patio area to relax and enjoy the peace and quiet. Cleanliness is also top of our list and to get your holiday off to the perfect start we include a welcome hamper!

We have owned this property 13 years, it has been lovingly renovated to a very high standard. We live close by and are on hand should you need any help but love the fact you are secreted away so can be completely private if you so wish.

Annisgarth Howe is truly special. Particularly spacious but still retaining charm and cosiness. There are amazing walks on the doorstep, it is close to all amenities but yet secreted away.

What makes this cottage unique

Annisgarth Howe is the perfect location. It is quietly tucked away but you can walk to the top of Brantfell in 20 mins, where you will enjoy the spectacular view of Lake Windermere, you can even see the sea on a clear day! Should you prefer the shops and local hostelries a ten minute walk will do the job. Another couple of minutes will bring you directly to the watersedge, with the chance to hop on a steamer for a magical trip on the Lake.

Outside: The garden offers a patio area, with a table, chairs and parasol, perfect for alfresco dining or a chilled glass of wine! It is stocked with lovely plants and is completely private. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and bedlinen are provided. Other: The kitchen/dining room has 32inch flat screen TV with DVD. Hand painted dining table with two chairs. Two large armchairs, hall robe, vintage glass cabinet housing a mini library. Patio doors leading into the garden.

Lovely, cosy cottage and fab location!

We had a lovely few days here recently, the cottage is tucked away and very private but also within walking distance to Bowness which has a good selection of shops, bars and restaurants etc. We also walked in to Windermere one day which took about 20 minutes.

The cottage has such a cosy feel, we love all the little touches that have been added.

This was our second time at Annisgarth Howe and we would definitely return again!

A lovely little cottage which is beautifully fitted out, with a surprising feeling of space

Loved the ‘shabby chic’ decor and the location - a short walk into Windermere or Bowness plus easy access to great walks direct from the door. Plenty of useful bits in the kitchen and a selection of DVDs, books etc in the lounges. Wifi was best in the lounge and Ged happily assisted when we had problems. It might need to be a slightly stronger signal to enable live film streaming at all times on the TV. Loved our stay here - it was an extremely quiet and peaceful location and both Windermere and Bowness have lots to offer for food, pubs, shops etc as well. We only used the car once all week 😀 thankyou to Ged

All round perfect

Everything was perfect from the minute we arrived at the cottage. Really good location only a short walk into the town and the cottage is tucked away and private. Absolutely spotless inside everything is clean and tidy couldn't fault anything. We met the owners a few times during our stay and they were so welcoming and friendly. Would 100% recommend to couples wanting to get away for a few nights.

Absolutely loved this place, the owners are so lovely and always there to help. Well equipped kitchen and you are provided with a delightful hamper with a few goodies in. Great location, just a short walk to Bowness and not too much further to Windermere. Me and my boyfriend both had an amazing time and couldn't recommend it enough, we're already thinking about booking again next year! Thank you for a great stay!

Unless you are visiting to walk or cycle, it is advisable to have a car during your stay.
