“What a holiday is for”
Just returned from a most enjoyable holiday in Calis staying at Villa Sofia. On arrival we were all impressed how spacious and comfortable the villa was. Louise has thought of everything, even DVD's and games for a relaxing night in, it is a three bed, three bath over two levels, plenty of space for our party of four, would easily accommodate larger parties. The gardens and outside areas are well maintained, with the opportunity to pick fruit from the trees, pool cleaned daily. The villa is in Koca Calis which is the far end of Calis prom, set in a small residential area, this is not a problem as within minutes walk there is a taxi stance or you can catch the Dolmus into Fethiye, two local shops close by. 15-20 minute walk into Calis and along the prom, where there are many restaurants to chose from. You can catch the water taxi to Fethiye, where we would recommend a meal at the fish market.
Paragliding was the best experience ever - AWESOME!!!! Try it!!!

We had a fantastic two weeks at Villa Sofia. The villa is lovely, in a good position close to the beach and restaurants and a couple of little local shops. It is about a 25 minute walk to Calis, you could get a dolmos which is extremely cheap or a taxi which are also reasonably priced. Louise was brilliant and really helpful with everything from beginning to end. Would not hesitiate to recommend the villa and would definitely go back in the near future.
Villa Sofia exceeded all our expectations, it was home from home spotless clean and so well equipped, we didn't want for anything.
Marian and Phil were extremely helpful and the pool guy taught us a little Turkish, the pool area is amazing so much space and very comfy sunbeds I had no trouble falling asleep !! Out and about the beaches are beautiful and the tumble dryer breeze is most welcome watching the kite surfers and wind sailers all which you can try if you are brave enough at the surf centre who also provide free sunbeds and big bean bags and do a great lunch menu very reasonably priced, if you go into Fethyie a must is the little boat serving belick eckmec (fried fish in bread) it was delicious and the setting was perfect we had a trip to sakikent gorge brilliant freezing water and a very interesting walk then onto yaka park for a very tasty trout lunch and finishing with a walk around the old walled city of Tlos all in all a fantastic 2 weeks in a beautiful villa perfect weather would highly recommended big thanks Louise and the team xx
A home away from home
We have just returned from a fabulous two week stay at Villa Sofia.
The villa is very clean and spacious with all mod cons set in a really quiet location.
Beautiful pool to enjoy a refreshing dip.
We hired a car and found that within a few minutes you are at Chalis beach where you are spoilt for choice with restaurants. We ate out almost every night and did not have a poor meal anywhere.
Already thinking about revisiting again!!!
excellent Vlla, lovely location, very clean
What a fantastic holiday we had at Villa Sofia. I cant fault anything from the airport transfer to our 2 week stay in the villa. The Villa is very clean and has every facility you could want, we found the water cooler a definite plus, what a brilliant idea. The property management team who look after the villa are also very helpful.
There are beach bars/restaurants only a 5 minute walk from the villa, and the local taxi rank is only a 2 minute walk away who are excellent. I recommend the 'Turkish Night' at the Mekan Restaurant on the beach, with Belly Dancer and live singer, both were excellent and we had a really brilliant evening there.
You wont be disappointed if you book a holiday in Villa Sofia.
We all loved Villa Sofia. We have stayed in this area three times and it was definitely the nicest villa and one that we would want to come back to. It had everything we needed and was very comfortable and clean. The steps into the pool were a great asset and the very spacious garden meant that there was always sun or shade available. The villa was very near the local shop, and within easy walking distance of the beach. There was nothing about it we didn't like.
WOW WOW WOW
First time in Turkey but certainly won't be the last.
Villa Sofia is Truly a luxury villa it has everything you need and more.
Spotlessly clean, comfortable beds, air con a godsend at night.
Outside where we spent 99% of our time the gardens are beautifully maintained and the pool kept spotlessly clean by the lovely pool man (5 sugars in his coffee and he is stick thin - must be where I am going wrong LOL)
From intitial booking to arrival at the villa everything was made so easy - Thank you Louise.
The transfer to the villa was in a mini bus - comfortable fast and efficient I would recommend this even if you are hiring a car as arrival is usually late at night and there is nothing worse than trying to squeeze yourselves and all your luggage in a small car.
Once at the villa Peace of Mind team are available to give advice or offer help if needed.
There is a small corner shop very close to the villa has all the basic things you may need - run by an adorable lady called Zainab who never seems to sleep - makes amazing pancakes too.
The beach is a short stroll from the villa with a few bars and restaurants waiters bring you drinks to your sunlounger too at no extra charge ( our favourite was Meken - great bunch)
The dolmus is cheap fun but slow - if there is a group of you (there was 6 of us) it is almost as cheap to get a taxi - faster too -these are plentiful - however on our 2nd day we aquired our own personal chauffeur Can pronounced Chan from Ciftlik Taxis - we only had to send a text and he was there " anytime no problem" he even drove our trolley in the supermarket!!
Best place we found for watersports was Olu Deniz (the blue lagoon) - spoilt for choice there - for the adventureous there is also paragliding.
if your not into watersports there is an abundance of shops and bars to choose from.
Markets are a must - won't be taking any clothes or shoes with me next time - an empty suitcase which will no doubt come back full - remember to barter - great fun - also have english money they love an english £10.
All in all an amazing holiday went for a bit of R&R by the pool with my kindle but with so much to see and so much to do didn't sit still for long... can't remember the last time I laughed so much on holiday .. still so much to see and so much to do we will definitely be back .

Villa Sofia is in a quiet area with just a couple of shops in easy walking distance as is the beach (10 minute walk). Fethiye is the next larger town which is about a 15 minute car drive but you can get the local Dolmus which takes about 20 minutes. The village of Ciflik Koy is on the other side of the main Dalaman road. Although there is not much there I do recommend that you drive to the Turkish breakfast restaurant (or taxi) - such a delight you will not forget the fresh local made food!
In the nearby town of Calis there is an abundance of bars and restaurants nestled alongside the pedestrianised boulevard and long beach. From here you can enjoy the stunning sea views looking across the bay to Fethiye and watch every evening for the most amazing burnt orange sunsets while enjoying a cocktail or local beer.
The large bustling town of Fethiye is only a 15 minute car drive away, or you can take a leisurely boat taxi to the marina from Calis. There is a wide range of bars and restaurants and excellent shopping for unusual gifts and nik naks, not forgetting the famous Fethiye Tuesday market which is a must to go and experience where you can stock up on your local feta cheese, olives and designer clothes and sample local kebabs and pancakes. There is also the Calis market on Sunday but slightly smaller. (Don't forget to take the trolly from under the stairs!)
