This very pretty, light and airy cottage is on one of the most desirable roads in Oxford. Plantation road is so historic it has its own Wikipedia page. The house is architecturally interesting and is Grade II listed, which means is it guaranteed to stay pretty and original. The fashionable district of Jericho starts on your doorstep and provides restaurants, cafes and shops and a certain vibe, the famous Jericho Café is a two minute walk. You are minutes away from at least three convenience stores and a large supermarket is about a mile away, although you wont really need to visit it as the local shops are competitively priced. The Cottage itself is in perfect condition newly furnished this season. Laura Ashley furnishings, Egyptian Cotton sheets and luxury towels all provided.
I have lived in Oxford all my life and live locally so any problems at all and I can help.
"a very pretty cottage, we found walking to all the sites really convenient as well as the excellent restaurants an evening stroll away..."
A colleague and I rented this two bedroom house during a brief visit to Oxford University. It's just a quick walk from the university (for us, the Math Institute), and the restaurants nearby on Walton Road are worth trying. I took the rear bedroom (to avoid light from street lamps through my open window and slept well. The spacious bathroom is well equipped, with both a tub and a large shower stall.
The house has a well equipped kitchen, so cooking is no problem. Of course, you have to go shopping upon arrival to buy your own food, supplies and perishables, such as garbage can liners, toilet paper, butter, coffee, and black pepper corns.
The bedrooms and bath are upstairs and the street is quiet, with little traffic. I would recommend it even for a longer sabbatical stay.
There were many DVD's by the TV and detective novels on the bookshelves, which might help while away the hours.
