Overview

Description

1 Cambusmichael Cottage Sleeps 5 (2 Bedrooms)

These cottages are situated in Perthshire farm land surrounded by stunning scenery. We discovered the cottages in a dilapidated state after a drive through Perth countryside, and decided we had to restore them. Every window offers magnificent panoramic views to enjoy. The rural location will give you the experience of ‘getting away from it all’, but near enough to Scone and Perth by car, if you want to get in touch with the world again! Blairgowrie, Dunkeld, Birnam, Braemar are also easily accessible, as are all the main cities of Scotland - Glasgow, Edinburgh, and Aberdeen.

About the property

SC1461

The cottages consist of two semi-detached cottages with an adjoining door which gives an option to use the both together for larger family groups. They each consist of two double bedrooms, and a sun lounge with a double sofa bed with sprung mattress for an extra sleeping option. The lounge, kitchen, and dining area is a large open plan area offering plenty of sociable space, given excellent opportunities to relax, talk, laugh, or just chill and watch a movie together. The wood burning stove is situated in the lounge area too, which makes it a lovely romantic place to be in with a few candles lit, and a glass of wine! Outside there are seating areas with table, chairs, and parasol to enjoy al fresco dining, or barbecues, and enjoying views over the stunning scenery. There is also a well equipped Childrens Play Area with a climbing frame and swings, and a train for children to enjoy. There is a log cabin which has a view towards the stream, with table tennis, dart board etc.

About Kim Wombwell

Hello, my name is Kim. My husband and I came across our two semi detached cottages in an extremely dilapidated condition when we were away for a weekend in Perthshire. My husband is a Joiner/Builder and we had been looking out for suitable properties to renovate and for our large family (four children and partners) and extended family to get together at, and enjoy breaks away, and also rent out for holiday lets, at certain times of the year. These cottages are in a lovely spot, and you will not be disappointed. We find it extremely hard to come away from them!

Kim Wombwell purchased this cottage in 2012

Why Kim Wombwell chose Perthshire

If you enjoy the outdoor pursuits, such as shooting, fishing, golfing, walking, hill walking, cycling, canoeing, white water rafting, off roading, etc, the area around the cottages offers all that and more. If you enjoy shopping, sightseeing, cultural events, visiting historical Castles, and Palaces. Perth, and. Perthshire area has all this. Scone Palace is 5 minute drive away from the cottages. We also have Perth Racecourse nearby if you fancy a day at the races! Whatever you are looking for in your break away, the cottages are an ideal base. The rural location gives the experience of ‘getting away from it all’, but near enough to Scone and Perth by car, if you want to get in touch with the world again!

Highly recommend staying here

  • 5 of 5

These cottages are immaculate well presented little gems. Stayed here with 2 other families between both cottages and they were ideal. Could not have asked for more. Group consisted of 5 adults and 5 children aged 4-16. Ample room for everyone with space to breathe and no need for sofa beds etc in living area thanks to the sun rooms. There has been a lot of thought put into the layout and it works extremely well, particularly for our group of multiple families and ages.

The play area is safe well maintained and used by the children even in the chilly december breeze and summer house had a small heater so was popular with adults and children equally.

Location is good. Lots to see and do nearby and each cottage has a well packed info book with details of nearby activities/excursions. Easy to find and close to local amenities but car is necessary. Lots of walks within short distance.

Without a doubt i would stay here again and have already recommended to family and friends.

Owners were professional, kept in touch regularly and left a lovely arrival gift. They provide an abundance of information and were quick to return deposit.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your kind comments, and detailed review. We are always thrilled when another family loves the cottages as much as we do. We always try and have the cottages ready and welcoming for our guests. We feel quality family time is so important nowadays, and strive to have an environment at the cottages to enable this. I hope we can welcome you another time.

Gorgeous cottage in Perthshire

  • 5 of 5

Great cottage in Perthshire located near Scone, just outside of Perth. Excellent solitary location with great open country views and setting but only a short drive to the city centre. The best of both worlds really. Stayed here as a family of 5 and the kids loved it too. Great games shed in the garden helped to entertain them and a nice play area in the garden too. Spacious open plan living area with great log fire helping to provide some cosy atmosphere on an evening. high specification bathrooms were a treat and comfortable bedrooms as well. plenty of storage space in the cottage which would be useful for longer stays than ours. wholeheartedly recommend this cottage. Ideal if you like countryside, family time, walking, cycling or just relaxing in a great space both inside and out. Very enjoyable stay.
