This detached villa is in a cul de sac of 4 villas in a quiet area about a 20 minute walk from the bustling centre of St Remy. It has an open plan living/dining area and separate kitchen, downstairs toilet, 3 bedrooms, one is a double with en suite bathroom and 2 are twin bedrooms which share a shower room. Outside is fully terraced for al fresco dining and relaxing and a private pool for cooling off.
I live in England with my husband and 2 children. We enjoy spending holidays in Provence; the scenery, the food and the lifestyle.
Judith Hammond purchased this villa in 2009
This area is ideal for all types of holiday, whether it is relaxing by the pool, enjoying activities such as cycling or walking, or sightseeing. It is easy to get to by car, plane or train. Nearby airports are Avignon, Nimes and Marseille. The TGV stops at Avignon and by car it is approximately 600 miles from the Calais.
The property is in a quiet area, but only a 20 minute walk from the bustling town of St Remy. It has a private pool for cooling off on hot summer days. There is space for 2 cars if required.
The coast is just over an hours drive through the Camargue region and places to visit include Avignon, Nimes, Arles and Aix en Provence. There are several local vineyards. The town of St Remy has many restaurants and pavement cafes and a weekly market plus cultural events throughout the summer. For those who prefer a more active holiday, there is golf close by, walking, cycling and canoeing near the Pont du Gard.
This was our second visit and it will not be our last! The house really is a comfortable place to stay, you feel instantly at home. Communication with Judith from initial enquiry to when we got home was first class, thank you.
Catherine and Denis, the managers whilst there, were so helpful and nothing was to much trouble, thank you to them as well.
St Remy is a lively town with lots to see, places to eat and the Wednesday market is good. There are lots of places to visit around the house, so a perfect base. Mind you just sitting and relaxing at the house inside or out is great. Thank you again Judith for providing such a lovely place to stay.
The house is really well equipped as a holiday home. Easy to find. Good outdoor area. Everything you need on holiday.
Lovely well equipped villa, caretakers Catherine & Denis really friendly and helpful.
Superb house within 20 mins walk is St Remy. Clean, airy, comfortable and a great pool.
We had a super 2 week stay in this delightful villa.
The Villa is fully equipped , spotlessly clean ,and in a nice quiet residential area a short walk from the centre of St Remy.
We thoroughly enjoyed the use of the pool on those days the temperature got into the mid 30s and found the air conditioning very useful !
St Remy itself is a lovely little town with great restaurants and a superb market on a Wednesday.
We had a lot of interesting days out to fascinating places such as Avignon , Arles , Pont du Gard . The Carmargue , Les Baux , Gordes and Roussillon ....but also a few lazy ones by the pool with a good book and a glass of wine.
Overall I would thoroughly recommend this Villa to anyone thinking of staying in the region , and look forward to returning to it again ourselves.
Just returned from our second summer stay at Judith and Steve's gorgeous villa in St Remy with amazing views of the Alpilles. The villa is perfect with every mod con, Wi-Fi and pool towels etc. provided. It is always spotlessly clean when we arrive and Catherine and Denis are on hand for questions, tips, day trip recommendations etc. Catherine will always try to get you in as soon as she can on changeover day too. Denis comes to clean the pool mid-stay (2 weeks) and that's really appreciated. It's a 15 minute stroll into town depending on your fitness where there are dozens of restaurants and bars and different markets, fetes etc. going on. St Remy is a perfect base for trips to the Camargue, Marseilles, Chateau Neuf du Pape, the Pont de Gard etc. Can't recommend this villa and the lovely people who own and manage it highly enough - they really do make sure you have a wonderful time - we will be back!
