Casa Cristina is a charming, secluded and exceptionally comfortable family villa nestling amongst oak, carob, olive and cypress trees in the lush herb covered hillside between the coast and mountains close to the market town of Loule. This nicely decorated 3 bedroomed villa offers our guests contemporary comfort. Partly air conditioned, with French Windows leading to the pool area, the thick walls keep the house cool in summer and the spacious covered veranda is perfect for al fresco dining. The fabulous private pool is surrounded by a wide veranda with stunning views across the Algarve hills. There is a covered Pergola off the kitchen which is perfect for an early breakfast or pre-dinner drinks. Cristina is the perfect retreat for those looking for seclusion whilst not being too far from the restaurants and attractions of this stunning part of the Algarve.

Casa Cristina is a lovely villa with beautiful views. We were very private but didn't feel isolated as we looked out over other villas nestled on the opposite hill and the sunsets were really stunning. We liked the pool being right outside the door - easy to pop in to collect essentials. The BBQ area is to the front of the house and away from the pool. The villa is within easy travelling distance of a few supermarkets and restaurants.

Casa Cristina is a beautiful, peaceful place for a quiet holiday. Set in the foothills about 25 mins drive north of Faro, halfway between Loule and Sao Bras, it has uninterrupted views over the valley towards Loule. The 3 bedrooms are ideal for grandparents, parents and 2 children. There are excellent cooking facilities, more than adequate living space, a large open dining and excellent BBQ facilities outside. It's an easy drive to the beach with many excellent restaurants within a short drive.

Coast/Beach:

There are several beaches approx. 15 mins by car including the beautiful Dunas Douradas (Golden Dunes) between Vale do Lobo and Quinta do Lago.

Travel:

Faro Airport is 25 mins drive away and car hire is recommended. We can either organise a taxi or recommend a local car rental company based at the airport.

Distances:

The villa is approximately 6kms to the lovely market town of Loule. The quiet village of Corotelo in a hop and skip away.

Further Details:

Casa Cristina nestles in the hills between the coast and mountains near to the market towns of Loule and Sao Bras de Alportel. This is the secret heart of the Algarve where wild almond, fig and pomegranate trees grow around villages whose simple charms and whitewashed houses give the feeling of having stepped back in time. There is a café/bar within walking distance and a mini-market. Sao Bras has an Intermarche supermarket and a farmers market on Saturdays. The pretty market town of Loule is only a short drive away with a daily covered market selling seafood, fruits and vegetables alongside locally made pottery. On Saturdays the town is vibrant with its market spilling onto the surrounding streets and alleyways – a great opportunity to buy sardines, dried fruit and local game. There is a brand new large Continente supermarket – Portugal’s answer to Sainsburys. There are numerous small towns and fishing villages on the coast between Faro and the Spanish border – particularly worth visiting is Olhao, which is renowned for its fish market and numerous seafood restaurants, and the elegant town of Tavira with its roman bridge spanning the water and riverside restaurants.

There is lots of water parks and entertainment for children – the Waterslide Park at Quarteira and the very popular Zoomarine at Guia which is close to Albufeira.

  • Notes on accommodation: The light and airy living room has original terracotta tiled floors and squishy sofas for relaxing with a book at the end of the day. The walls are painted with traditional earth colours and there is a lovely arch through to the well equipped, spacious kitchen and dining room with a refectory oak table with seating for 6. The bedrooms are nicely furnished and very comfortable and there are French Windows leading through to the veranda from the living room. The two bathrooms are contemporary. Outside: Cristina has panoramic views across the surrounding hills. The private pool is 9m x 5m with roman steps to the shallow end – it is big enough to do a full length or to just float and enjoy the wonderful sunshine. The pool area can be gated off from both the outside and from the house making it safe for young children. There are high walls surrounding the villa to ensure seclusion. There is a covered terrace which promises shade and overlooks the swimming pool – a perfect spot to cool off and enjoy the unspoilt views. You feel as if you have the whole of the Algarve to yourselves! There is a further covered pergola off the kitchen with a built in BBQ. French Windows lead to the pool from both the Living Room and Master Bedroom. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: We provide bed linen and towels. Linen and towels are changed weekly. Pool/beach towels are not supplied. Maid once a week. Other: Cristina is a light filled villa - spacious and comfortable.
