Brightside Cottage is a beautifully renovated and tastefully decorated period Fishermans cottage on the south side of Bridlington close to the Spa and award winning south beach (2 minutes walk); There is an open plan downstairs living, dining and kitchen area with central heating and electric log fire, a downstairs WC and shower room, two bedrooms upstairs - one double and one twin with en-suite shower room and WC plus one put me up bed available as well as a rear courtyard garden with garden furniture and Chiminea. Within walking distance of all local amenities just off south marine drive, there are pubs and restaurants two minutes’ walk away’.

About Andrew and Marcela Fox

Andy and Marcela Fox. We live in Bridlington, I work as a lecturer in a local college, Marcela is a Veterinary surgeon in the nearby town of Beverley and speaks fluent Czech. Our love of the outdoors skiing and travelling lead us to use the owner’s direct website to book accommodation for our travels. We bought Brightside cottage in 2012 as an investment and completed full refurbishment a year later in July 2013. We hope that the money and time spent will be rewarded by the enjoyment of our like minded guests. Brightside cottage is in an ideal position for the beach,water sports, the spa or as a base for exploring the Yorkshire coast, moors and Wolds which provide excellent walking and cycling opportunities.

Notes on accommodation: * Travel cot and high chair available on request. We would respectively ask guests not to wear outdoor shoes in the house. Outside: Outdoor table and chairs with brolly, Chiminea, Rotary dryer. There are also locking points where customer's bicycles etc can be stored in the rear yard which can be accessed through the rear snicket and locked gate. Utility Room: Property includes cooker, hob, microwave, fridge with freezer compartment, kettle, toaster, iron, hair dryer. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Linen & towels provided, cleaned weekly. Please bring your own beach towels.

Cosy and comfortable and great location

Booking was very straight forward and price reasonable. Arrival instructions received in good time and good clear communication from owners. The cottage has everything you need as a base and is situated minutes from South Beach. We were looking for miles of beach to run the dogs on and were not disappointed. There is no wifi at the property but plenty of BT hotspots so no need to deprive teenagers! The weather was kind to us and we were able to go on long long walks a couple of times each day. The cottage has a good selection of dvds, books and games if you need it. Was initially a bit unsure if the garden was shared as seem to be other gates and doors opening on to it, but never saw any of them open so it was secure for the dogs when you're getting the sand off! Took daughter onto North Beach, all arcades and fun fair rides not not our thing, but if it's yours, you won't go wrong. Supermarkets and shops all in walking distance too.

Was grateful to the owners for allowing our two big dogs as they had the best time. Really enjoyed our stay and recommend this property.

clean, tidy and convenient

We had a good three day break in this cottage at Bridlington. The owner is very friendly and helpful and makes a point of welcoming all guests. The only slight snag was that the parking was not exactly convenient, the parking pass covered all areas in a controlled zone but we were never able to find a space closer than two streets away which would not have been easy for the elderly or those with young children and should perhaps be made clearer on the information given.

Lovely,cosy cottage

We needed somewhere fairly central for our stay as my father likes to walk, but unfortunately his enthusiasm isn't always matched by his ability! The location was perfect for us and surprisingly quiet, I really expected more traffic noise (though we were out of season). The cottage is a real home from home, they provide everything you might need (even a tea strainer!). Will happily stay here again if we return to Bridlington.

lovely terrace property in convenient location

a long weekend in an end terrace which had full home from home amenities. the owners accepted our well behaved dogs. we arrived on a cold evening in december to a wonderful warm accomodation with the essential tea milk and sugar. andrew and marcela have updated the terrace to make it warm and cosy. we will stay again

great little cottage

we had a lovely time in bridlington the cottage is in the best location only a couple of minutes work to the beach and 10 minutes to the train station and tesco which is perfect for us has we dont hace a car.the cottage was very clean and tidy and the beds were very comfy.it had everything you need and more.
