About the Owner

We bought Llwyn Llwyd farm in 2001 and brought our 3 children down from Watford in Hertfordshire with anticipation and excitement. We have never looked back. Originally from the welsh valleys, Pontypridd , I was keen to return to my roots. We are now very proud Grand parents and all 3 of our grown up children live nearby. Ian is a self employed Accountant and works from home and I am a qualified Nurse and work in the local hospital part time. Our dream was to own and run holiday cottages and we are so excited to have welcomed our first guests in the summer of 2012.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We get lots of positive comments from our guests. Our guests range for reunions of university friends , mixed gender groups and families. We frequently get guests returning to us. All love the rural space, freedom, walks, log fire, and the flexibility we try and offer our guests. We are only across the yard and available to answer any questions and recommend places to visit. We have been known to babysit both children and dogs. We now offer Wifi which has been frequently requested by guests in the past.

Ideal Family Cottage

  • 5 of 5

The cottage was ideal for our family vacation. The setup was great for our extended family of 8. Lise welcomed us upon arrival & provided all the information we needed. The driveway was a little tricky but not too bad. The views & walks were all we could of hoped for. We would definitely recommend this cottage & return in a heart beat.

A beautiful cottage in stunning surroundings

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed out 3 days in the cottage. It is beautifully decorated and homely, spacious and so well equipped. It was rather damp and cold when we first arrived and the wood burner in the living room was a real treat and very easy to light and use. On the last morning it was warm and sunny so we ate breakfast at the outside table. The views from the top of the hill behind the cottage are just stunning.

Lovely big rural cottage

  • 4 of 5

Just back from a three night stay with three couples and a toddler. The cottage was great and there was loads of space for all of us. We loved the little extra touches such as flowers, wine and soaps The wifi also worked in the cottage! Our only issue was the adults having to keep the chatter and laughter down once the little one had gone to bed. Also great communication with Lise!

Great Accommodation

  • 5 of 5

The cottage was absolutely lovely. The size was perfect for 6 adults two older teenagers a toddler and 4 dogs. Not once did we feel like we were under each others feet. The garden and walks from it were wonderful for the dogs. Ian and Lise provide everything you need for your stay so all you need to bring are yourselves, something to wear and eat for the week!!! They were also extremely helpful with anything extra we needed or any questions. Only negative was you need a little skill to negotiate the driveway but once you have been up a couple of times it gets easier. Also the televisions could probably could do with updating. That didn't matter to us as we were so busy going out or playing the plentiful supply of games we didn't watch it as much as some visitors might want to.

A beautiful place to stay

  • 5 of 5

Booking was a breeze; emails were informative and any questions answered promptly. The property is fabulous; clean, well-maintained with attention to detail (e.g. the bedding looked brand new and soft fleece blankets were provided). The welcome we received was amazing. Ian and Lise treated us like friends and made sure we had everything we needed. We were made to feel so relaxed in the cottage. There were plenty of games to keep us occupied however the surroundings are so beautiful we spent a lot of time outdoors, where you can walk from the property. The views are incredible!

I would 100% recommend this property; we hope to return in the not too distant future!!
