Cottage in Whitland, Camarthen area, Carmarthenshire, Wales - Secluded, Peaceful, Rural

The cottage is set high in the hills above the small village of Login on the Carmarthenshire/ Pembrokeshire border within easy reach of the beautiful coastline to the north and south. The cottage has a traditional feel but contains enough mod cons to make your stay easy and enjoyable. The nearest neighbours are over a half mile away. I am a family man with four children and quite a few grandchildren.

My fathers side of the family originates from Pembrokeshire and I lived in the county for twenty years and I love it.

Why Euan Davies chose Cilymaenllwyd

When I saw this property I did not hesitate to buy.

It is a beautiful location, remote and secluded, and is situated to give great access to the joys and beauties of Carmartheshire and Pembrokeshire.

The cottage itself has a traditional and homely feel but includes enough modern touches to make your stay easy.

Charming old cottage in stunning surroundings.

  • 5 of 5

Unfortunately I had flu for most of my stay, which was such a shame, as it meant I wasn't well enough to explore much.

The cottage is very beautiful, both inside and out. It's really authentic and old-fashioned, and was warm and comfortable. The back gardens were a real joy, and there was plenty of birdsong, and pheasants and partridges to be seen. The surrounding land and views are stunning.

Lovely rural cottage perfect with lots of character

  • 5 of 5

We have just returned from a lovely Easter weekend in Bryn Gywn cottage. Full of character, lots to do lovely walks and not too far for days out to Tenby and Saundersfoot. The cottage has everything you need and the kids didn't even miss the Wi-Fi! We will definatley look at returning next summer.

We had a fantastic time, regardless of the weather, the last day being the best, sunny and warm, we were able to actually sit out on the bench in the front garden and enjoy tea and cake. When we came back from our day trips out in the evening or came back from eating in one of the nearby hostelries in Narberth, the log burner was so cosy and toasty warm. The cottage itself was a dream, so oldie world and yet all mod cons, especially the dishwasher, which was a godsend, no arguments who was doing the dishes. Even our teenage daughter enjoyed the comforts and especially the views and didn't moan once about not having access to the internet.

All in all we had a fantastic time, we would definitely come back to Bryn Gwyn, a real credit to its owner. Thank you for letting us stay.
