About the Owner

Peter and I have been happily married for many years and have four grown up children and we have been blessed with many grandchildren, who give us much pleasure.

For many years we have been lucky to visit many far off countries but also enjoy visiting places in UK.

A lot of my time is taken up with my passion for photography and we both enjoy walking and the outdoor life.

For over 20years, before our retirement, we ran a B/B from our home in Ross-on-Wye, this gave us great pleasure meeting so many nice people. This we gave up to start a new venture in Pembrokeshire with our three holiday homes, which we purchased at Freshwater East.

We spent a great deal of time refurbishing our holiday homes to make them homely and comfortable for people to enjoy a relaxing holiday in this beautiful

July 2013

Another wonderful holiday at Freshwater East in one of Peter and Barbara's well equipped chalets. Thank you for the warm welcome and well prepared chalet. A perfect location for a beach and walking holiday.Finest scenery great beaches and excellent walking along the coastal path- all on the doorstep. Car need for shopping and eating out. Several good pubs and restaurants nearby. Surprisingly quiet out of school holidays.

We will be back.

July 2013.

The holidays reasonable priced accommodation was excellent.

Freshwater East is well situated for some of my passions which include, walking, fishing and bird watching, ( a number of rare Choughs were spotted at Stackpole Head during our stay and Gannets can be seen diving for fish off Freshwater Beach) Secluded sandy beaches proliferate the area, and there are a number of quality pubs for lunch and dinner. This is our second year at Pebbles and we are looking forward to coming again next year.

Comfortable and clean accommodation

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in NO28 accommodation for a week. When we arrived we felt we were warmly welcomed and had a good impression. A home-made tasty cake was there for us with a pack of milk, coffee, tea and apple juices. We enjoyed them very much after such a long journey. The chalet was very clean, tidy and well-maintained. People around were very friendly. There is a clean and very accessible sandy beach within a short walking distance. We'd love to go back again in the future. Many thanks

Good location close to a nice beach.

  • 4 of 5

Good accommodation with access to a nice beach. Smallish site which was well presented and maintained. We stayed in No 42 High Seaview and yes you could see the beach from the top window! Lovely welcome from Barbara when we got there, easy access to property. Very thoughtful welcome tray and cake provided. Facilities good with lots of "well thought out little touches" like a watering can ready to wash the kids down after the beach, a clothes dryer for wet suits, hairdryer and lots of storage space. A real home from home. The Pembrokeshire area is beautiful and although the weather wasn't that kind to us we managed to get out every day. Beautiful trips to Barafundle Beach (well worth the hike), St Davids and Whitesands beach (great for body boarding), Pembroke Castle, Tenby. Kids (and adults) had a great days out at Folly Farm and Heatherton World of Activities. Reasonable prices for a whole day of entertainment. We just ran out of time to do everything we wanted!

Would happilly return to Pembrokeshire year after year and this site was a good base.

The clubhouse on the site was just opening under new ownership on the day we left (1.8.15) so not able to comment on this. Think it would have been an addeed bonus to our stay but not essential.

Thanks Barbara for a wonderful hoiliday - yes we would recommend to others.

Owner's Response: Thank you for the kind response I am glad you had a great time and enjoyed the beautiful beach at Freshwater East. We try to provide everything you might need on your holiday and we are glad you enjoyed 'High Seaview'. Barafundle is a special place the walk along the cliff top has fantastic views, and the welcome of a wooded and sand dune bay beckons you on. As you say there is so much to do and a week is not long enough to explore all the beautiful beaches, lovely villages, churches and castles. The new owners of the 'Longhouse' on site have great idea's for the Clubhouse I hope they make a go of it as it will be a real asset to the site. . Perhaps we might see you again on your next holiday. Barbara

Comfortable house and great beach

  • 5 of 5

Very comfortable and well equipped house within easy walking distance to a clean sandy beach. Friendly owners left a welcome pack of milk, tea and cake which was very nice after a long drive. The house is on a private purpose built holiday estate which was quiet and very well maintained with no dogs and literally just a few minutes from the beach. (You will like this if you want a quiet family holiday with safe sandy beach, rocks to explore, good walking, swimming and kayaking etc - there's no cafe or shops) Made a good centre for touring the area and much quieter than eg Tenby. We had a really nice time and would happily go back.

Owner's Response: Glad you had a good time. It's nice to sit down after you arrive tired and stressed and have a nice cup of tea, and not to have to unload the car to find the milk. My daughter likes the fact that there are no shops, other than a car ride away, as the children are not always after ice creams and snacks. She buy a pack of ice creams from the supermarket when she arrives and stores them in the freezer in the top of the fridge, much cheaper than the guy by the beach. (Note Tesco's deliver to the site so you don't need to go near any shops, just have an Old Fashioned Beach Holiday) Hope to see you again. Barbara

Home from Home

  • 5 of 5

Great location, undeveloped and not even a 5 minute walk to the beach. Close to Tenby and many other tourist attractions.

The chalet was clean and well equipped; even had a dishwasher! Lovely to arrive to fresh milk, tea bags, drinks cartons for the kids and cake.

Great communication from the owners. We would definitely stay again.

Holiday at Freshwater East

  • 5 of 5

This is our 2nd stay in this holiday home & on both occasions have found it ideal for our needs. The layout is great and there was everything in the house which we needed to make it a comfortable place to stay. (The cake was also a welcome surprise!).

The property was very clean and everything in working order. All the basics were included ie. tea towels, toilet rolls, washing-up liquid and of course, bedding.

We would certainly recommend the property.

Freshwater East beach is only a short walk away but we love the whole area - the walk from Stackpole Quay over to Barafundle Bay and Broadhaven beach & back via Bosherston Lakes is beautiful to name just one of the lovely local walks. Carew Castle is also worth a visit - great castle and fantastic location.

We ate at the Freshwater Inn in the village and also The Watermans Arms in Pembroke, both serving extremely good food at reasonable prices.

Great base to explore Pembrokeshire

  • 5 of 5

Great base to explore Pembrokeshire. Chalet was clean and well equipped and the Welcome Pack from Barbara and Peter was a lovely surprise. Minutes from a great beach and close access to the Coastal Path - climb to the top of the hill and you can see Barafundle Bay. Only 10 mins from Pembroke for essentials and about 20mins into Tenby. Would recommend this property if you want to be close to the beach and with great access to explore. Not much around but there is a pub that you can walk to -The Freshwater Inn - bit of trek but great views. So many places to visit - Barafundle Bay well worth the walk, Stackpole and have a cream tea, Heatherton a great day out with the kids, Carew Castle, West Angle Beach and Tenby the list goes on and on. Thanks Barbara and Peter will be booking again soon.

Location

From the Owner

We bought these holiday home a few years back, as a new venture after closing our B/B in Ross-on-Wye. Peter's brother lives at Haverfordwest and saw the holiday homes for sale at Freshwater Water East, we came down and looked at them and fell in love. They were perfect, on a lovely well kept site, plenty of open grassy area's and of course the wonderful sand dune backed beach which is just a short stroll away. We spent a good few months renovating and up-dating them and making them friendly and relaxing for our guests.

Facilities

From the Owner

The beauty of all three of our holiday homes, Pebbles' Sandy Toes' and 'High Seaview' is that they are very near the front of the site, no dragging tired and hungry children miles to get home. 'Sandy Toes' No.245 is especially suitable for young children as it is away from the road and has a grassy area at the front for them to play. To make life easier we supply all the bedding,(no extra charge) and we make the beds up ready for you, there are plenty of storage cupboards making unloading the car a lot easier. So when you arrive sit down make a cup, of tea and enjoy the complimentary welcome pack.
