About the property

Cottage in Thornton Le Dale, Nr. Pickering, North Yorkshire Moors, England - A Stunning Location Ideal For Exploring The North Yorkshire Moors And Heritage Coast

Ideally placed near the heart of the beautiful village of Thornton le Dale, this semi-detached Victorian cottage has everything needed for a great holiday. It is situated down a quiet lane and the area is peaceful, relaxing and beautiful. There are many lovely walks that can be started from the door of the cottage. Thornton le Dale is reputed to be one of the most picturesque villages in the North Yorkshire Moors meaning that guests would not have to travel at all to experience wonderful walks along the river or around the village itself. The cottage is also within easy walking distance of lovely pubs, cafes and the village centre and with many attractions only a short drive away this cottage has lots to offer. Both coast and countryside can be explored, York with all it attractions is only a 40 minute drive away and Dalby Forest is on the doorstep. Supermarkets are in Pickering and Whitby and Scarborough are within twenty miles. The cottage itself is well furnished and decorated to a high standard throughout. The bathroom with a roll top bath is a particular feature.

What makes this cottage unique

Squirrel Cottage offers a great base from which you can explore the beautiful North Yorkshire Moors National Park and the Heritage Coastline. The cottage is comfortable with all the amenities that you will require. It is located close to the village centre, so the shops, cafes and pubs/restaurants are just a short stroll away.

Guestbook comments from the owner

What a lovely cottage. We rent holiday cottages regularly and this is one of the best. Comfortable, warm and in a great location, what more could you ask for? Two good pubs serving excellent food nearby and the location of the cottage was within easy driving distance for visiting Scarborough, Whitby, Goathland etc. - March 2014

Perfect cottage in such a perfect village. Loved it! Everything was clean and easy to use, plenty of wood for the fire - March 2014

Lovely character cottage in a gorgeous little village. The cottage has everything you could need, particularly in the kitchen, I was very impressed. The owner has obviously put a lot of thought in to what a guest might need, and provides maps of walks and lots of tourist info. The bath is gorgeous. Would definitely recommend or stay again! - December 2013
