The Flower Loft has been lovingly converted from a granite barn formerly used as a painting studio and stables by Sir Alfred Munnings, an artist famous for his equine painting, recently depicted by Dominic Cooper in the film ‘Summer in February’. It offers spacious and comfortable living accommodation in a secluded setting in one of Cornwall's prettiest villages. The landscaped gardens are spectacular and provide a perfect setting for a relaxing holiday. Lamorna Stream Studio provides comfortable accommodation with its own private south-facing garden, and makes a perfect romantic hide-away for couples.
The Flower Loft's garden was magical, not to mention the beautiful county of Cornwall with all it’s delightful offerings. The house itself was lovely and very well kitted out for cooking, ironing and watching television!
This was a great cottage for large family or group. Lots to do nearby and the babbling brook and attached woodland made it feel like a real retreat from the mad world. Excellent facilities and well maintained.
We have been to Cornwall many times before, and have therefore stayed in lots of different places. We can safely say that this is the best place we've stayed at by miles! Close to beautiful Lamorna, and yet tucked away in beautiful (almost sub tropical rain forrestlike) surroundings. The accomodation itself was a delight from the moment we entered it. Well appionted light and airy, with a beautiful secluded garden. Fantastic, and we'll be back again soon. I really don't want to stay anywhere else now!
The house was brilliant and really spacious for 6 adults. We arrived really late on the Saturday to find the lights already on and a welcoming feel to the house.
The kitchen was really well equipped ( apart from a fish slice) and allowed us to participate in a Great Whittish Bake Off! 60 biscuits were baked and judged.
The querky bunk rooms were fine.
We loved the old school feel to the house and the choice of reading matter brought back memories.
The only issue we had was that it was too hot. We turned the radiators off but still overheated with the big feather duvets. We live in a small hamlet in Devon and rarely put our heating on.
We would recommend The Logan Rock at Treen as the pub to eat good food in. One visit to the Lamorna Wink for a drink did not impress and the choice of food seemed limited and expensive although we did not try it.
There was plenty of space to hang the wetsuits outside.
Access to the wood was a real bonus for the morning dog walk.
The lack of sun was disappointing this week but lack of rain was a bonus.
The hairpin turn by the pub was a challenge with our long estate car particularly when a van was parked on it.
All in all we want to return.
The Whitworth family
We have just returned from a lovely holiday in the most beautiful cottage in Lamorna Cove. We immediately felt 'at home' in the cottage and personally I didn't want to leave! A great location for exploring the rugged coastline of Cornwall and a peaceful setting for a calm and relaxing break all topped off by a, mostly, sunny week. We couldn't have wanted for more, other than another week!
Perfect for us, feels like home from home. Great place to stay when seeing our Lamorna friends. Looking forward to coming back with our Dalmatian puppy when he is a little order.
Our ages varied from 6 to 63 years and this fabulous house and it's grounds had something to offer to everyone in our party . Everything we wanted was provided, wi fi for the younger ones and peace and privacy for the elders.
The coastal walk from Lamorna cove to Mousehole is an experience and not for the faint hearted.
A lovely place to stay. The property was a perfect retreat for my family and friends. The weather was perfect the autumn week we went, and even if the winds coming in from the sea, the garden is totally sheltered, make sure you find the 'secret' sun terrace'.
The house is slightly dark and old fashioned, in a way what you would expect of an old building, but the facilities are all there and a large kitchen/dinning room is always the social area for a large group.
The property is in a very special setting with the the garden taking some effort to explore on its own. Lamorna is a peaceful village, with many walks and much surrounding country side to discover. The place is still quite lively with many artists still living in the valley and there were several events happening even during our stay.
An excellent place where we I hope we can stay again. Certainly recommend it .
Once you arrived at the property, you are cut off from the outside world. No mobile signal, wifi was not working. The outside property looked nice but the interior was dated and tired. There was only one shower for the whole house. The bath upstairs was too small for adult.
The process of getting refund back very pailful and unpleasant. It ruined the holiday memory for us.
