About the Owner

I live in Kent in the UK with my husband who works abroad, so we travel a lot. I have a son who is an International Dressage Rider/Trainer and has his training yard here en-site.

We love this area as it suits our needs being so close to the channel tunnel & Dover Port via M20 with its easy access to Europe. London is just over one hour by direct route from the local Headcorn Railway Station.

We frequently visit the local castles nearby, Leeds and Sissinghurst Castles and Royal Tunbridge Wells Spa Town with the infamous Pantiles and Speldhurst Place.

Numerous Golf Clubs and Maidstone and Ashford Towns a short distance drive.

May 2013. Fiddlers Green is a welcoming beautiful place, thoughtfully decorated and well equipped, perfect for spending some peaceful days out in rural Kent. We enjoyed our stay and would return anytime (Ravensburg, Germany).

Fiddlers Stud

We have just a lovely ten days at The Fiddlers stud. The house was perfect, very spacious , tastefully furnished and decorated and clean. We were a family group of six adults, two children and a baby and we all loved it, in fact I could have moved in permanently!!

It was great seeing the horses around us and my granddaughter cried when she had to say goodbye to Hugo the dog.

The location suited us well although we know the area well, there are lots of places to visit and it's not too far to get to the coast. As we were very lucky with the weather we spent quite a time at the house enjoying the garden and the sunshine.

We would recommend this house to anybody, I can't imagine anyone being disappointed with it.

Spacious comfy cottage

This is a very comfortable spacious accomodation. Situated right in the countryside on a stud farm with horses visible daily. Easy access to London from headcorn station. Ideally situated for many city country or even coastal attractions. The owners we're helpful and pleasant. The cottage is well equipped, clean and pleasantly furnished. Would stay here again. We were 4 adults

Perfect location to explore Kent

A really lovely and central location to explore the attractions of Kent. Canterbury Cathedral and Leeds Castle are very close by and absolute musts for anyone visiting the area. Driving through the bluebell-lined country lanes and picturesque villages was a real delight as were the numerous country pubs offering good food at very reasonable prices. The property itself is in very peaceful surroundings and excellently appointed. Thanks to Anne for giving us a very warm welcome and for making sure that everything was to our satisfaction! The attention to detail regarding furnishings and decor made us all (group of 6 family members spanning 3 generations from England and Germany) feel very much at home. Comings and goings on the stud and the dogs Hugo and Archie provided a personal touch which we all really enjoyed. We can highly recommend this property. Only thing to consider when booking: Will your group manage with one ensuite bathroom (with hand-held shower over bath) and one family shower room? We did - just!

We do have a 5th Bedroom which we use as a store, where it is possible to put in a 3rd bathroom, this we will consider for the future. Although we already have the added comfort of three WC's in the house. I am glad you enjoyed the buzz of Stable life and look forward to greeting you back sometime.

House on Equestrian Stud, Headcorn, Kent

We were a group of 4 looking for a quite long weekend away. Our stay was very comfortable. The house is beautifully decorated and the accommodation very spacious. Each room was unique. The kitchen was also very well equipped. The drive from South East London was about 1.5hrs and the directions given by Ann the owner were perfect. I enjoyed watching the horses having a bath in the morning. You do need a car to get around though. I would recommend this house to friends and will stay there again.

  • Notes on accommodation: No access for guests through to Stable Yard, although you can see horses from the house. There are two dogs on the yard who are very well trained, that occasionally visit house garden (Hugo & Archie) they are passive & children do love them but for safety please do not pick them up, they know they are not allowed into the house, so we would appreciate that you please do not encourage this. Guests & visiting guest animals are not allowed. In the interests of hygiene & for visitors comfort, we kindly ask visitors to remove shoes before going upstairs. Please note the inset log stove in the sitting room gets extremely hot as does the wetroom towel rail. Please supervise children at all times. This is a non smoking household. It would be appreciated if the plants are watered daily. On making a booking it is understood that you & each of your party have read ALL of the descriptions, details and notes pertaining to this property. Outside garden furniture includes large octagonal table with 8 chairs, a table with another two chairs and a long pine pew. BBQ. Garden cushions can be found on shelves in the garage. Utility Room: Washing machine, tumble dryer, iron, iron board, coat rack and boot rack. Ash disposal bin. Broom, floor mop, brush & pan. Pegs, & outside washing line. All Beds fully made up on arrival. Towels are provided per person staying. A washing machine &tumble dryer is provided if you wish to wash bedding and towels for longer stays. No cleaning/maid service available. Gardener attends once weekly,Windows cleaned monthly. Please leave the house clean and tidy as you found it.
