Lovely house, in great location

  • 5 of 5

The house is immaculate and spacious. Also feels secluded, as tucked away behind gates with security lock. We are a family of 5 and it suited us perfectly. Only a short 10 minute walk from the city centre, with supermarkets close by. Owner Katy is very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.

Highly recommended

  • 5 of 5

The property was clean, spacious, comfortable, and tastefully decorated, perfect for a family of four. The location is good, only a 5-10 minute drive to the town centre. The main bedroom has an on-suite bathroom, which is great. The only thing lacking is Wi-Fi and a dishwasher, that would have been perfect. My only real complaint is that none of the dustbins had any bin-liners, but that was probably just an oversight. Overall, highly recommended!

Great holiday home for kids!

  • 5 of 5

We were very impressed with this house from the start. Firstly we liked the fact that it was off street parking and it is very secure having a security coded gate which was great having young children. Katy the owner left some delicious rocky road cakes and a pint of milk which was a very welcome refreshment especially for the kids after the long journey. She also gave us enough time to start settling in before coming round to introduce herself. She made us feel very welcome and was always able to help with any of our questions or needs. The house is a great size especially the living room which was larger than I expected from the photos. It was great having a downstairs toilet especially with having young children. The only negative was the curtains let in a lot of light and with the kids being used to black out blinds the youngest especially didn't sleep well on the first night however there were a couple of blankets in the livingroom and one of them was a perfect size to fold over the curtain rail and after that the kids slept much better which was a relief!! The area is very quiet even though you are only a few minutes walk to a main road that leads into the town centre. Given we had children we chose to get a weeks bus pass which proved to be a great buy and saved us lots of time. The nearest bus stop is a few minutes away and there is a great park and ride service that runs every 10mins from about 7am-8pm. Just beside the bus stop is a fantastic hotel/pub/restaurant. The staff were so friendly and the kids ate a 2 course meal free during the week. There was a bouncy castle in the garden so very relaxing to sit in the garden and watch the kids play. the food was fantastic and was great to have such a fab childfree place so close to the house. There is also a local playpark just a few mins walk from the house and in the living room cupboard there were lots of games and puzzles for kids to play so if you are travelling with young children this house really is a fantastic holiday house. We would definitely stay again if coming to york on holiday again. Thank you so much Katy

wonderful stay

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed for 3 nights and were very impressed with the property location and facilities. Katy is very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. It's very handy having 3 Loo's, as there is a main bathroom, ensuite and downstairs toilet, and was always plenty of hot water. The house is airy and nicely decorated, in a very quiet residential area. If you bring a car it's just 5 minute's drive to the centre of town. We didn't bother, and there's a bus stop around the corner with buses every 10 minutes. We would definitely stay again as we were happy with all of the above points and found the price extremely reasonable for York.

Fantastic Week in York

  • 5 of 5

We have just returned from a fantastic week in York, staying at this fantastic house. It was very clean, spacious, very well equipped, comfortable and homely. We were very surprised to arriive to find a lovely chocolate cake awaiting us, left by the owner Katy. The house is in a great position to explore York, we only used the car on the few occasions that we wanted to go further afield. We cannot recommend this house high enough. If we return to York in the future we will definitely be staying here again.

York visit.

  • 5 of 5

We have just returned from an excellent week spent in this property, and we would definitely recommend it to anyone who is thinking of visiting York. As it says in the information, it is ideally situated for the icy being only about a 10 minute stroll away from the city walls. When we arrived at the house we were very glad we had chosen to stay there, as it was spotlessly clean and very spacious, the living room was spacious and very comfortable the kitchen was large and well equipped, and the two bedrooms and bathrooms were also large and comfortable. We were also very pleased to find that the owner, Katey, had left cakes and fresh milk for us. There was also a lot of information on hand detailing the route into the city, the nearest doctor and hospital the nearest bus route, and all the nearby attractions. Although Katey lived very close to the house she gave us plenty of time to settle in before she came to check if we needed anymore information, and she was very helpful and pleasant.

We would definitely like to return to York, and would love to stay at this house again, as it was very homely and welcoming.
