House in Edale, Peak District, Derbyshire, England - Large Period Property Sleeping Up To 16 People, 6 Bedrooms And 7 Bathrooms, Very High Standard

Belmont House is a fine Edwardian country house in the heart of Edale, in the Peak District National Park. It has recently received a complete 5 star renovation providing high class facilities throughout. There are six bedrooms and seven bathrooms that offer flexible accommodation for up to 16 people; bedrooms can be organised with a range of single, double, twin or triple options.

The main sitting room has a period style woodburner set in an ornate, Jacobean fire place; comfortable seating on two large sofa's plus a Chaisse Longue and comfy chairs surround the state of the art 42 inch flat screen TV. A wide selection of traditional board games and DVDs are provided.

The second sitting room / morning room opens onto the kitchen where a pre-WWII propeller sits above the wood burning stove, there is a large sofa, chairs and an extendable oak table.

The dining room has a large antique oak table that can seat up to 16, there is also a smaller table in the bay window that seats 2 or 3, this allows everyone to dine together on locally fired, Denby crockery.

The recently installed farmhouse kitchen contains everything that you may need to cater for large groups including a gas fired five burner, double oven range cooker, double width catering eye level grill, microwave, double drainer Belfast sink for meat and vegetable preparation, additional double sink for washing up, dishwasher, large drum washing machine and large American style fridge freezer. In terms of pots / pans / bowls / utensils etc.. everything you may need (within reason!!) is provided. Or a local caterer can be arranged to provide meals for you. There are also 2 pubs and 2 cafes serving food in the village.

The grounds feature a mature garden full of visiting birds including our friendly woodpecker, both a sheltered patio and a large barbeque area offering amazing views of the surrounding peaks. There is ample off road parking for 6+ cars. Travel cot and high chair available.

The perfect setting for large groups to relax and enjoy stunning scenery and luxury together. Edale is located in the centre of the Peak District National Park and is a perfect base for outdoor activities such as walking, mountain biking, climbing; or to explore the historic castles, villages and stately homes. Belmont House is the perfect country retreat.

About Morgan Jackson

I was born and brought up in the beautiful Edale valley, and have wonderful childhood memories of skiing back home from the tiny village school after deep snows in Winter, making dens out of hay bales in Summer and tickling trout for breakfast from the local stream - whilst avoiding the river warden!!! My parents, grandparents and great grandmother all lived in Edale and after I moved away to University and then down to London for work I knew it was a place I'd always return to. When my grandparents died, about 10 years ago, I was in a position to buy their house, which is Belmont. In recent years I've completely renovated the property and now offer the house to groups who can come and enjoy the amazing scenery and surroundings of Edale where I was brought up.

Fantastic New Year getaway

Belmont house was great high quality accommodation for our group of 4 families. The house is spacious and very well equipped with everything you could need and more. Location is perfect for great walks on the doorstep and easy access to days out. Would definitely stay at Belmont again. Morgan has done a great job of providing a home away from home.

Belmont house perfect house in a Serene location!

We booked Belmont house for a long weekend family pre Christmas get together in a easily accessable beautiful location, and this ticked all the boxes.

The photos on the site are impressive, but the reality was far far better as they do not do justice to the size of the rooms, and as it was Christmas they were tastefully decorated.

The house is situated on a small quiet lane and just a stones throw from two lovely country pubs, with good cask beers and food, and Edale railway station.

I have already recommended Belmont house to my family and friends, and I'm planning to return during summer.

Great property, very cosy, ideal location.

We stayed for a long weekend here, 13 of us in total plus one baby. The house is great, really cosy and worked for everything from a murder mystery, boardgames and keeping an eye on a nine-month old! Proper fires which are well stocked, massive grill for cooked breakfasts and it was very helpful having so many bathrooms!

It's perfect for walks on the Peaks and the Old Nags Head up the road is worth a visit.

Lovely, comfortable stay

A beautiful property - I stayed with 14 school friends and it was everything we wanted! Lots of space, so many wine glasses, plenty of space to cook, relax, eat. Gorgeous rooms with a TV in each of them. Amazing location right beside the Pennine Way. I love the feeling of family history associated with the house.

Clean and Classy in a beautiful location

I stayed at the property with 15 other ladies for a hen weekend where we used the house as a base to walk Kinder Scout. It was the perfect location and we could see Kinder Scout from the back garden. The house is beautiful, clean, tidy, classy and has everything you would need for a large group. There were plenty of bedrooms with sufficient bathrooms to accommodate everyone. Morgan welcomed us to the house with a huge smile and huge chocolate cake and offers of help if we needed it. We didn't need to visit the local pubs as we brought enough food and drink to entertain us all weekend. We went to the Pemny Pot cafe down the road for breakfast, which was fabulous and set us up for our walk. Whilst in the house There was plenty of room for us all to spread out and not be on top of each other. A wonderful property in a superb location which provided the perfect setting for a whole bunch of happy memories with a group of 40 something ladies. Thank you so much Morgan!
