About the Owner

I was born and raised in the village and have retained the family home, using it as much as possible ourselves and by our children and small grandson.

My wife and I currently live and work in the East Midlands.

Great property!

  • 5 of 5

We had a great stay at this property and would definitely book again.

It has the feel of a cosy family home rather than a show home that some rentals have (you know the ones where you worry about putting a cup down...)

The big plus for us was being able to take our two Greyhounds. The area is doggy heaven and most of the pubs, cafes and restaurants are dog friendly.

Well situated just on the outskirts of Cawsand, Just a few minutes walk from the village centre.

We will definitely book again and are happy to recommend!

Fantastic holiday

  • 5 of 5

The house is a perfect base for exploring the Rame Peninsular and we very much enjoyed our time there.

We could not fault the property at all. The house was immaculately clean when we arrived and the kitchen was extremely well stocked with utensils. All the rooms are of a good size and there is a lovely view over to the sea from the front of the house and to the surrounding fields (with deer) from the back.

It is a very pleasant 10 minute walk into the centre of the village which has some lovely pubs and there is plenty to see and do in the surrounding area.

Lovely location

  • 4 of 5

A lovely house, an easy walk away from both Cawsand and Kingsand. It was so lovely to watch the deer in the field behind the house most evenings. The house had everything you needed and was comfortable and well maintained. Great location and view to the harbour

A lovely week

  • 4 of 5

This property is clean and comfortable. It is well placed for a short walk to the shops and beaches. The owner was very helpful and a pleasure to deal with. We are a family of 4 two girls aged 10 and 12. We spent hours on the beach, the rock pools are a must for children and adults alike. Kayaking was also a treat. We were able to BBQ in the garden (brought or own disposables) and enjoyed watching the deer pass by in the field. Cawsand and Kingsand are lovely and the people very welcoming. If you want to eat out I suggest you book days in advance the pubs are all popular and as far as we could tell all serve good food. We tried 2 but reports from other holiday makers were favourable for the others in the area.

Cosy and comfortable

  • 4 of 5

The house is in a lovely location, with great views, and is just a short walk to the village, beach and coastal path. It was spotlessly clean, warm and well-equipped and the beds were lovely and comfortable. The only thing lacking was somewhere to hang outdoor coats - a hook on the back door would suffice. Otherwise no complaints and we'll certainly be back.

Cosy Cornish retreat.

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed a lovely weeks retreat in this very clean, cosy and comfortable holiday home. It is very well equipped holiday home, extremely cosy and we were more than happy to stay in and cook some of the evenings. Immaculate bathroom and spacious bedrooms. There is an owners manual for easy reference to appliances in the house & with local information. We watched the sunrise and sunset from the kitchen window and were lucky enough to see some deer roaming in the field opposite.

Cawsand is a delightful place, winding streets & accessible beach. Nearby Kingsand is a pleasure to visit with small local store where you can buy fresh bread and freshly made Cornish pasties. A few local friendly pubs too, The Devonport pub in Kingsand is worth a vIsit and local restaurant The View at nearby Whitsand Bay is a must. Both Kingsand & Cawsand are within walking distance from the property, there are steps to negotiate but it's worth it. Nearby Millbrook is a very short drive but has a few more grocery shops. Regular buses run from Kingsand & you can get a ferry from Cawsand across to Plymouth. Small ferry but that added to the excitment. Great surrounding area for walking, we're not walkers as such but enjoyed a coastal walk at nearby Whitsand Bay, which has a stunning beach and views. We took the opportunity to visit St Ives and from there, Land's End. There are so many surrounding areas to visit a week was not long enough, we also just enjoyed the feeling of 'escape' which this place gives you. We look forward to going back next year.
