Just perfect

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for 4 nights and have to say our stay was just perfect. Margaret and Elroy treated us so well. The central location was ideal for us wanting to tour around the island. The train station is close by and we took it into Palma where we ate in Elroy's beautiful restaurant.

All in all we had a fabulous time and would thank Margaret and Elroy for making it so special.

There are also a couple of really good restaurants in Consell and on a Sunday evening in summer there is a dance in the square. As I said at the start it was just perfect.

Fabulous little guest house

  • 5 of 5

Have to agree with all the other comments. Ths hosts Margaret and Elhoy were extremely welcoming and hospitable despite having a house full of their own family.

We couldn't have asked for anymore, a clean, spacious air conditioned room (the vine room) which was ensuite and patio area outside the room under a grapevine shelter where breakfast was served. Lovely, homemade food, with the hosts own preserves and cakes and all served in plentiful amounts. Fantastic value for more and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place. It's perfectly situated for those wanting to explore the island, with easy access to motorways and about 25 mins from Palma. Thanks Margaret and Elhoy

Cycling base in Centrall Majorca

  • 5 of 5

I agree with the postive comments of the other guests who have submitted reviews. Margaret & Eloy made us most welcome in their charming property. The accomodation was a perfect base for our cycling holiday being ideally placed with easy access to quiet roads and the mountains. There is a safe lock up for your bikes and plentiful high quality food for hungry cyclists provided. And at such value for money. What a jewel we have found!

Warm welcome, great host

  • 5 of 5

Thank you Margaret for the warm welcome we received during our short stay with you. Appreciated you waiting up for us until 2am, Easyjet delay of 5 hours and for Eloy taking the boys back to the airport the following morning for the car. I recommend Margaret's evening meals and the wine supplied by Eloy! Eating out on the patio directly outside the Garden room meant we could relax whilst Noa, 8 months, could go to bed. Look forward to another visit and best wishes to Eloy and the restaurant in Palma

Highly recommended

  • 5 of 5

The stay was perfect, Margaret and her family were warm and welcoming and we felt like we'd made new friends on leaving. The pool was lovely on a lazy day but further afield its easy to get anywhere on the island from Consell. Rooms were very clean, pretty and the bed was so comfortable getting up was hard in the morning, even with the promise of Margaret's fantastic breakfasts! The village itself has a few restaurants, we found the day menu's to be amazing value (9 euros for 3 courses and wine!). There's also a train station, markets, vineyard, mini supermarket and a few bars and one of the islands best bakeries. Its not at all touristy, people were very friendly and helpful and we loved it.

Well done and thank you Marin family, you have got it spot on, our little boys are still talking about the dogs Toffee and Rocko and want to know when we can go back to our home in Spainland!

Amazing

  • 5 of 5

One of the best bed and breakfasts I have ever stayed in. I had my own little house, very spacious and quiet and private with an outdoor area too. It was clean and lots of storage. Margaret was amazing in accommodating my special diet - I had more than enough to eat for breakfast and enough to bring for snacks too! I was welcomed with a glass of wine and some treats after my long journey. I would stay there again in a minute next time I am on the island.

Location

From the Owner

Our house is over 100 years old, we decided to buy a town house because it suited our needs with 3 grown up girls and a young son. The location was just right for us because we didn't want to be in a touristic area and the village cateres for our needs. Consell train station is 10 minutes walk, also the bus near by. However a car it is an advantage. You can hire a bike, go for walks or climb a mountain! The village is in the centre of Mallorca in the Tramuntana region well known for the mountains, beautiful scenery & vineyards. Palma is 20 minutes by car, parking is easy. There are many places to visit in Palma and the surrounding areas. The beauty of living in a village is you can visit diverse places then return to peace & tranquility, but a night out or shops are 20 minutes away.

Activity and Interests

Car: recommended

Coast/Beach:

Consell is a village located 20 minutes drive from many lovely beaches. Some beaches are accessible by public transport, this would take about 45 minutes with train and bus or train and taxi. There are beautiful secluded beaches 30 minutes drive away.

Travel:

Palma airport is 20 minute by car.It is recommendable to hire a car when staying in Consell even though there are places to explore without a car. If you are looking for a cycling or walking holiday this is the perfect location with so many places to explore and visit.

Distances:

There are many small pretty villages within easy reach, ranging from 10 minutes to 40 minutes away. There are country houses to visit, mountains to climb, pretty villages to visit, different sports to try out . There is so much to do other than soak up the sun. There are some beautiful walks, nature reserves and Mallorca is a well know place for bird watches are the summer heat has gone.

Further Details:

In the village there are banks, bakeries, we actually have one of Mallorcas finest traditional bakers! and a supermarket. During August and October the council often offers entertainment in the village square which is an unusual way to unwind. There is a train station 15 minutes walking distance down a country lane , trains are 4 an hour, there is a bus stop near our house, however the buses are not very regular. In Santa Maria there is also a winery which offers a tour to all the vineyards within the area. There are some lovely places to visit either walking or by bicycle. We have safe storage for cycles or prams in the garage. In the village itself there are various cafes, a couple of restaurants and the winery. Within 5 minutes drive or 1 stop by train there are the villages of Santa Maria, Alaro and Binnisalem where there are many restaurants and cafes. 5 minutes away is Festival Park which offers discount shopping and a variety of exclusive shops. Palma. The historical centre has a wealth of places of interest to visit and is 20 minutes away. There are many, markets which offer local produce close by.
