About the property

Villa / Farmhouse in Tao, near Tequise, Lanzarote, Canary Islands Lat:29.03675. Lon: -1361378 - Beautiful Location Less Than 10 Minutes By Car To Local Restaurants Shops And Lovely Famara Beach

The farmhouse is built in the traditional (sugar cube style) thick stone method. Most of the ceilings are about 20 foot high so air conditioning is not necessary. In addition all outside windows have inward openings with Louvre shutters to allow free airflow. The interior layout and design is in keeping with the character of this old property, yet fully suited to a party of eight or just a couple staying (like ourselves).

About Timothy Kelleher

Dianne and myself with our 3 children and 5 grandchildren. We live near Newbury on the Hampshire / Berkshire border. Our adult (sometimes!) children regularly holiday at the farmhouse with their sprogs, and we feel others may wish to have the opportunity to share the same experience.

We have 20 odd years of guest's comments in the visitors books, and, on request, we can let you have email addresses or phone numbers of those guests who stayed and survived and also gave their okay to pass on their contact details.

Why Timothy Kelleher chose Costa Teguise - Teguise

We purchased our property in February 1992. We were looking for winter sun seclusion and of course tranquillity.

The farmhouse is situated on the edge of the farming village of Tao and is located in a strict conservation area with only 4 or 5 other properties in our vicinity. Ours was the first to be renovated!

The property was pretty much a ruin with no running water or electricity. Most of the roof was gone and a donkey inhabited one of the bedrooms.

It was twelve months before we were able to enjoy electricity!

Over the twenty five years we have had many beautiful holidays as we steadily renovated every aspect of the house. Our children have always enjoyed the lovely ambiance and character of no 4. Now our grand children are doing the same. we have two neighbours

What makes this villa unique

We call the property no 4 as originally it didn't have a name, so we just called it number four and it stuck! The farmhouse is spacious airy and has its own special character. we have had three seriously major refurbishments over the last few years, we now have a club room with bar (I call it club Iguana) snooker /pool table, A brilliant centrally enclosed patio! There are 2 double bedrooms, (both with a fully equipped ensuite shower room). A third double bedroom and separate twin bedroom sharing a family sized fully equipped wet room All showers are powerful.

A front lounge with TV and DVD player. all BBC and ITV channels can be accessed as well as most German channels. Wifi is available but only for emails.

So if you are a rock star or famous actor and need some privacy, this could be your Shangri-la. However, if you've been on Big Brother, no 4 will not give you the attention you deserve!

Set away from the main road of Tao you will find a Beautiful converted farmhouse with great views and all the mod cons, a very comfatable property which feels like "home from home", The owners Tim and Diane have left nothing to chance filling it with all the luxuries you would expect from a five star retreate. We stayed with our extended family, seven people in total, and still had room to spare, perfectly positioned to explore the whole island and only 15 minutes from the airport, Tim and Diane were extremely accommodating and left an extensive list of things to do and recommended some fantastic Resturant's which we were pleased to visit and enjoy, If your going to lanzarotie on holiday this relaxing home is a "must stay" and reasonably priced too, we will defiantly return. Luxurious peaceful farmhouse

We found this accomodation extremely well presented and furnished . The location was secluded and is peaceful for those looking for a relaxing holiday. Car hire is essential but all resorts and sights are easily reachable by car . Locally there are a good selection of bar and restaurants within ten to fifteen minutes drive from the farmhouse. We would be more than happy to recommend this property and will return there in the future . Thanks to Tim and Diane for the use of their little piece of heaven. Jan & Mark

Quality and Seclusion

Just arrived back to the UK from two weeks wonderful holiday in this superb Farmhouse/Villa No 4. As family of adults we have been renting quality villas in Lanzarote for over 20 years and this property is in our top 2. From the moment you enter the property you can see the care and attention to detail that Tim and Dianne have invested in the property over the past 25 years. Every bedroom and bathroom are superb, the dining areas cater for everyone's taste, the pool is heaven and Tim's Club Iguana a great place to have fun and entertainment for all the family in the evenings. The brand new kitchen just shows how much Tim and Dianne are willing to invest in this property to make it as comfortable as they possibly can for those of us lucky enough to holiday here. A car is essential but Tim's restaurant guide is spot on, some lovely restaurants serving quality food within a few km of the villa including the local Sociedad in Toa which offers good local food at excellent prices with very friendly staff. Finally if you like stunning views then the view from the road as you approach the villa looking out to Famara beach 12 km away on a clear day is spectacular. We have absolutely no hesitation in recommending this Farmhouse/Villa for your next holiday in Lanzarote. Booking our holiday with Tim was a pleasure and one we hope we will be able to experience again soon.

Luxury in the heart of Lanzarote

From the moment you arrive and take in the fabulous views, to the moment you unpack and explore this fantastic farmhouse your onto a winner. Upon arrival we were greeted and shown round the property. Immediately we could see It's clear the owner takes great pride as each room was finished to a very high standard, lovely comfortable beds, En suites to boot and easily spacious enough to cope with our large travelling party. "You could get lost" as there are so many rooms..! Highlights for us was of course the Pool area, catering for the children amongst us but also offering the space/facilities to entertain a BBQ or two. The games room was an instant hit and many an evening we spent playing Pool/Snooker taking in the useful and often overused bar facilities..! The front of the house allowed an opportunity to chat/eat as a family under the stars taking in the peaceful surroundings. Times like this are few and far between at home.! If your a walker there is plenty of scope to explore but a car is essential if you want to see the island. The central location means local towns and villages are within easy reach for your amenities as well as glorious beaches, the volcanic scenery and wine regions. So to finish, if your looking for that touch of class and luxury away from the hustle and bustle of a traditional resort hotel and with a great location for exploring a beautiful island. Then look no further than this gem of a property, it ticked all of our boxes and we would highly recommend to all of our friends and family.

Gorgeous and peaceful

We absolutely loved our stay, gorgeously comfortable, luxurious and peaceful. Timothy looked after us from the day of the booking, massive thanks for his information not only about the house, but the area and restaurants and places to visit. What can I say about the pool!!! Warm, inviting, fun, private.....We would 100% stay here again, peaceful starry filled nights and a well equipped kitchen. The beds were extremely comfortable and we enjoyed a very restful break. Enjoy!

Amazing place to stay! :)

Fantastic property finished to an extremely high standard, there is everything you could possibly need there and more! This was our second time as a family to stay at the farmhouse (I have also been with friends) and it was just wonderful, the house is perfectly secluded and brilliantly situated on the island for visiting attractions and lots of lovely beaches! Tim and Dianne's restaurant suggestions are fantastic....we love Bar Sol for lots of fresh fish, Cantina for lovely food all round and a new one this time for us was Bar Grillen, great for meat lovers! All of these are within 10 minutes from the house!

We had a baby and two teenagers and the house couldn't have been more perfect for all of us, everyone loved the pool, the teenagers enjoyed the pool table and we enjoyed the peace and quiet! We will definitely be back again, this house has turned in to a family favourite for all of us! :)

Notes:
Outside: The property overlooks the village of Tao from the west (front) terrace of the farmhouse. Relax having a sun downer or two overlooking the garden and deciding where the sun is going to disappear in the evenings. The driveway is good for 4/5 cars, and the track has one vehicle an hour coming past. Although at about 1.00pm a goat herd strolls past about 300 metres away. The south terrace is fully private with two eating areas, one covered for midday sun and the other for sun worshipers. The pool is oval shaped and 7 mtrs by 4 mtrs. It is 1 mtr deep at the shallow end and slopes to 2 mtrs at the deep end. Solar heating is more than sufficient in the warmer season and for the winter months the electric heating adds that extra backup. The BBQ (not gas) is easy to light so long as you make sure you have the charcoal before you start!! Utility Room: Sink unit. Ironing board and Iron. Laundry basket and pegs. Washing machine. Various pool toys for children. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Bed linen bathroom and beach towels are included and are changed weekly. Cleaning is carried out weekly. Other: Inner hallway (next to the pool terrace). Storage cupboards for sun bed cushions/umbrellas. Storage cupboard for CDs DVDs games books CD docking station. Snooker room with bar, fridge, 1/4 sized pool/snooker table. Docking station for iPod. TV screen.
