About the Owner

Charles grew up in Cornwall and has regularly surfed at Porthmeor beach, so it's important for us to have a base here. We love St Ives for not only its unique location but for it's lively town atmosphere all year round, there is always something to do, see and eat.

Beautiful quaint querky cottage, very cosy , warm ,homely and tastefully decorated.

  • 4 of 5

We stayed for a week in October with our son and daughter in law, We all loved the cottage,it was right in the heart of St Ives but tucked away 2 minutes from the Harbour in a private gated drive. It was small but beautifully decorated, very pretty, quirky, and cosy, the log burner was a real treat to light at night, a beautiful romantic place to stay, a little gem to find.

Beautiful cottage

  • 4 of 5

Really lovely cottage, decorated just how it should be and with a lot of thought to bring out the old characteristics of the cottage. Well equipped too

A few of the cupboards could do with a clean and tidy though but nothing major.

Great location too, near everything. Could get a little noisy at times with the pub nearby mainly with the bin men and the emptying of their bottle bins etc not so much from the actual pub.

The outside of this cottage lets it down, the front garden/yard needs improving and tidying up as not that pleasant to sit in to be honest.

The other outside part /porch type place from the back door is badly in need of sorting, it's dirty, wet, needs clearing properly, you just don't want to go outside to it (not that you need to really as just a little storage space maybe for wet suits etc) but could be made so much better and the sky window is full of green mound it needs cleaning...

This however did not ruin our stay in the slightest and we think it is such a charming cottage and would stay there again, just sort the outside space out....next door have don't theirs and makes a big difference.

Owner's Response: Many thanks for you review and feedback. We are always trying to improve the cottage and are taking on a lot or refurbishment work next month with the outside of the cottage both front and back being cleaned and repainted, new windows to dampen noise, sanding floorboards and painting them, recycling system made and new cleaning company and repainting kitchen so should be a big difference! Many thanks for choosing to stay at the cottage. x

Well positioned and cosy cottage

We found the cottage was the perfect location for exploring St Ives and had everything we needed for our two week stay. Very homely and cosy. We also used the the recomended secure parking which was a 15 mins walk away.

Great little place, very quaint, perfect base for us four.

  • 5 of 5

The cottage is positioned in the heart of St Ives which means you can walk to all the beaches, shops, restaurants your hearts desire. The cottage is adequately kitted out with all manner of things should you wish to eat at home, the bathroom with the rainforest shower is great and the living spaces meant we had room to spread out and watch the Olympics when we wanted. Our boys are 18 and 11 and found the second bedroom a little challenging size wise as the second bed fits across the wardrobe door rendering it useless really, and as you would expect in an older property, there aren't many sockets for chargers etc. The only other negative note was noise from the town from the binmen who seem to come through most nights for the shop rubbish, however, I think this is everywhere and not just Kelly Garden specific.

Having said that, we had a superb family holiday here and would recommend this cottage and the town. It suited us beautifully.

Just right!

  • 5 of 5

Really lovely week in this lovely, homely cottage. The cottage has a cosy feel, with all that you could want. Really comfortable beds, and a log burning fire. ( not that we needed it, thankfully!) The location is perfect, just a few minutes walk to the beach and harbour front. There are lots of quirky shops on the doorstep, and lots of great places to eat. We would really reccommend it for a family of 4, and would love to stay again one day!
