Cosy cottage stay - perfect for traveling with dogs

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I just came back from a short stay at John and Cara's studio and couldn't have been happier with our time there. They were completely welcoming of our 3 (large!) dogs and have their own sweet retriever Strauss (who welcomed our dogs). John gave us a thorough walkthrough of the apartment and offered some helpful tips on local resources. The studio has enough of the essentials for a full self-catering stay. The living area had two comfortable reclining chairs for the reading we caught up on, and the bedroom was spacious yet cozy (we caught up on lots of sleep as well!) with a very large bed. John and Cara gave us full run of their rather large property which our pups loved, taking the opportunity to chase some rabbits. The home is well off the "main" road so we were not concerned with any potential traffic while our dogs explored. Nearby (less than 10 minute drive) is Croome Court, a beautiful historic property which is also very welcoming of dogs. We strolled there for a couple of hours in the sunny weather before heading to the Christmas market in Worcester. We highly recommend this property as a very dog friendly but comfortable location, with warm, welcoming hosts.

The Studio

  • 5 of 5

Studio refers to the fact that this was an artist's studio, it is not a studio apartment, as it has a separate bedroom . We enjoyed our stay, along with Lily, our puppy.Cooking facilities are basic but adequate, especially as there are plenty of options to eat out locally. The bed is large and comfortable.

The Studio is in a great location. Nearby are many places to visit, including the Malvern Hills and a host of National Trust properties. We left a towel behind and John posted it to us without us asking. Thank you. We definitely recommend.

Comfortable and Relaxing stay in the Studio

  • 4 of 5

We had everything we needed in the Studio and were well looked after. We especially enjoyed the stillness of the garden and the location.

We had a very pleasant and comfortable stay and would recommend it to our friends and family.

Thank You

The perfect place to recharge your batteries!

  • 5 of 5

The friendly greeting by John set the scene for our stay. Everything in the Studio was comfortable, clean and so relaxing to stay in. It was such a welcome change not to have to get up at breakfast time, to just lie in and get up when you were ready; not even the dawn chorus had any effect!

Absolutely no complaints whatsoever, plenty of tourist information leaflets available and helpful directions from John too.

We walked on the nearby Malvern Hills one day, then spent a few hours in Worcester and Croombe Court stately home the next, before our rather short stay ended.

We'll be back!

Excellent cottage in an ideal location

  • 5 of 5

The cottage was very clean and well equipped and is a converted barn and comprising a good sized lounge with a quite large bedroom off one side and a shower-room/toilet off the other side. There is a small kitchen area in a corner of the lounge. This is ideal for two people. The bed is king size and can be converted to two singles on request. The owner John was very welcoming and made sure that we had everything we needed. The location is a very quiet spot in Severn Stoke but not far from a main road, so ideal for Worcester, Upton, Malvern etc. Also Croome House, a National Trust property, is only about 4 miles away and well worth a visit.

The village pub, The Rose and Crown has a lot of character and serves excellent meals. For a few days exploring this part of the country in my view this property could not be bettered.

Worcester Cathedral

From the Owner

We purchased and converted our barn and the adjoining byre, as we had already lived in the area for 19 years. The tranquil surroundings and magnificent views across the River Severn to the Malverns are a delight and all this within easy reach of the M.5 and M.50 giving scope to see the Midlands, Cotswolds and rural Herefordshire.
