Gorgeous architect designed barn - warm and welcoming, chic and contemporary.

Updated: 22-Oct-2016
Spacious peaceful barn just minutes from centre of Bath with free parking & wifi

Boutique-hotel style barn decorated in contemporary greys, whites and neutrals. The carefully hand-picked furnishings and accessories are a mix of modern and antique with comfort a priority. Stunning double-height sitting room featuring a mezzanine floor reached by a spiral staircase, a well-equipped kitchen and dining area. Large double bedroom suite, entrance lobby and shower room with marbled walk-in shower. Off street parking. A popular farm shop selling local foods and essential provisions is about 400m away and 100m futher on is our local pub, the White Hart which has featured in the Good Food Guide and Michelin Guide for years. There are other good pubs, cafe's and restaurants here too as well as three take-aways (Indian, Chinese and Burger) a newsagent, art shop, hairdressers and launderette. Cross the river over Halfpenny Bridge into the bustling heart of Bath or take the riverside walk to approach the city via the famous Pulteney Bridge.

I would just like to thank you for a fabulous weekend. The property was absolutely beautiful and we couldn't have wished for anything better. I am currently a trainee architect and thought the building and interior decoration was perfect and would be over the moon if I designed something to that standard.

My girlfriend loved all of it and didn't want to leave and wanted to live there forever!

I had meant to email you far sooner than now after our stay at Little Owl Barn to say it fully lived up to our expectations from the photos and it was a beautiful property with fabulous decor.

Long weekend in Bath

  • 5 of 5

Immaculate little cottage in a perfect quite location but only a 10 minute stroll and you are in the centre of Bath.

All amenities within walking distance including three pubs one which is Michelin star . A garden centre is also near by that sells great homemade produce.

Jilly was a perfect host and even booked a meal for us at the local pub .

We had a great time and were blessed with fantastic weather .

Would definitely recommend and if in the area would stay again.

Lovely place, superb location, great hosts

  • 5 of 5

A lovely cosy and comfortable barn (perfect for couples), decorated to a really high standard, with everything you need for your stay.

Great location - A nice 15 minute walk to Bath (you can't always park that easily in Bath, so it's ideal). Other local restaurants, shop, newsagents, deli etc. in the locality.

Hosts live across the courtyard, so are on hand if required, but not intrusive at all. Lovely touches of bread, tea, eggs on arrival, towels and robe.

Would recommend this property.

Secluded Little Piece of Heaven

  • 5 of 5

Stayed in Bath for 3 days and the Little Owl Barn was a little piece of heaven away from the hustle bustle. Very spacious, huge bedroom and bathroom, well equipped kitchen, lots of little extras to make your stay comfortable and welcome. In these days free WiFi is a must and we had it. The owners were great, there if you need them (their property is just opposite) and couldn't be more helpful but very private if you're happy to be left to alone. We walked into Bath every day as parking is available at the Barn and costs a fortune in the town, we're good walkers but it really would take most people no more than 15 minutes. Loved Bath, we went on the free Mayors walking tour which I'd highly recommend, it's free given by volunteers 3 hours of solid information, stuff you would never find by yourself. If we come back to Bath would defiantly stay in the Barn again :)

Relaxing stay in idyllic location

  • 5 of 5

Idyllic location. Property fitted out to very high standard with everything we needed for a relaxing stay. Jilly was really helpful in advance helping us with delivery of our Ocado order so we were 'good to go' as soon as we arrived.

Lots of useful info on local walks and things to do and see.

Bedding high quality and very comfy. Night blinds endured uninterrupted sleep.

High recommended !

Just as pictured, beautiful surroundings and comfortably decorated.

  • 5 of 5

I stayed at the Little Owl Barn in early April and had a lovely time. The property was just as described in the listing, clean and comfortably decorated. It was a nice 10 minute walk into Bath from the barn. The owners were very nice and responded quickly to all inquiries. We loved the recommended pub, the White Hart, just a short walk away. I would also highly recommend the free walking tours offered daily in Bath. It is a great way to see the city and learn the history. Bath is one of the favorite places I have ever visited!

From the Owner

We used to pass the farm every day on our way to taking our sons to school and never dreamt that one day it could be ours. Despite being rather run down it was still beyond our means. However, the family business we had started in the 80's was going from strength to strength whilst the property market flatlined in the early 90's. A combination of the two meant we were able to buy and move here in 1991. We just love it and can't imagine living anywhere else....

From the Owner

We are so close to the city centre yet can be back in the calm surroundings of the farmhouse in a matter of minutes. The house still has its original bread oven and inglenook fireplace in the sitting room, natural springs in the garden, an abundance of wildlife (including Little Owls!...) and is surrounded by mature beech, oak and ash trees. It really is a special place.
