About the Owner

I am a business development manager in the Aerospace Industry. I have two children who have loved Swanage holidays. Therefore I can advise you on holidays with children as well as just adults. I am really happy to spend time with people on the phone talking about property, giving advice about what to do: where to go, where to eat. I will do everything reasonably possible to make your stay as pleasant as possible.

Lovely house and great location

  • 5 of 5

We know Swanage well and were in town for a family anniversary. The house is in a great location right near the locally regarded Black Swan and is thoughtfully furnished to a high standard and offered an off the street parking spot - something which is tricky to come by in Swanage. We will certainly use again if the need arises. The owner is very helpful and accommodating and I have no hesitation in recommending this property.

Our 3rd visit to this house in 3 years!

  • 5 of 5

Just returned from our 3rd visit (which says it all really!), the house is as great as it's always been. The perfect location and with a very handy parking space.

Hoping to return for a 4th time next year!

We love Swanage!!!

Superb cottage

  • 5 of 5

We have had a fabulous week at seashells again, after staying last year as well. The cottage is extremely well equipped with everything you could need. Our two girls (aged 2 and 4) particularly loved the toys and dolls provided by the owner. We enjoyed corfe model village on more than one occasion, but mainly utilised the beach and park which is ideal for small children. I would strongly recommend this cottage, and hope to return in the future.,

Perfect home-from-home

  • 5 of 5

This cottage is perfect. Great location - just 5 minutes to the main town centre - and easy access for inland trips or Studland (amazing beaches and family-friendly horse riding stables) and across on the ferry to Sandbanks/Bournemouth. The cottage itself is delightful. We usually opt for old properties but this is a gem: a newly built home but in traditional Purbeck stone and very warm and cosy without any heating needed! Chris and his family have created a home-from-home atmosphere with lovely pictures everywhere and the cottage is kitted out brilliantly. He also leaves tea, coffee, jams, salt, pepper, loo rolls, washing up liquid and lots of other really useful bits and pieces, especially in the kitchen. The top bedroom is a lovely retreat for mums and dads with its own bathroom and overall there are 3 loos - so useful but often rare in holiday lets. All bathrooms modern and very clean. Gill prepared the house beautifully for our arrival. Top marks Chris!

Fabulous cottage

  • 5 of 5

We had great communication with Chris before our stay in the cottage and he couldn't have been more informative or helpful and were really looking forward to our stay.

On arrival we were thrilled the cottage was fabulous, superbly equipped and very clean throughout.

The parking was a godsend.

We had 3 generations staying and it suited all our needs perfectly.

It is surprisingly spacious inside and we all felt very cosy, comfortable and relaxed.

It's the extra touches that helped make it so special. Teddies in the bunk beds ( a big hit )

Loads of really good DVDs and books.

Even scooters and fishing/ crabbing gear!

When we visit Swanage again we would love to stay at the cottage again!

Location

From the Owner

Great reviews, location, facilities....

Activity and Interests

Car: not necessary

Special interest holidays:

Swanage and the Purbecks is an ideal family location and also for those who enjoy walking, climbing or cycling. It is also popular for fishing with boat trips, pier and mackerel fishing available. Swanage hosts a fantastic carnival week, RNLI week, Jazz, Blues and Folk festivals, firework displays and Punch and Judy shows – not to mention the infamous Fancy Dress New Year festivities. There are some wonderful restaurants and cafes, great transport links and a real steam railway to Corfe Castle.

Coast/Beach:

10 minutes walk to the beach, 1 minute to local supermarket (7-11).

Travel:

Best way from London direction to go is via Bournemouth, through Sand Banks and across to Studland bay via the Chain Ferry, which is £4.10 each way so make sure you have the cash to hand.
