Guestbook comments from the owner

The Nook exceeded even our expectations in every way. It is a delightful conversion of an old building, attached to the Manor, but in a very secluded and private part of the gorgeous grounds. The standard of finish, quality of renovation and design flair makes The Nook a very comfortable and stylish retreat. Everything works, flows well and is exceedingly comfortable. The views from The Nook are green and lush and the benefit of having ones own outside space with seating and barbeque was a real bonus. We could quite happily have stayed on for ever.

Julia, the owner was very helpful and obliging, yet sensitive not to be intrusive. She was most welcoming to ensure our stay was a success and was happy for her guests to stroll around the grounds at leisure. The Nook is very well placed for exploring the Island and is a beautiful, rural and tranquil place to return at the end of a day's touring. It was an absolute pleasure to stay at The Nook and I am sure we shall return.

What a wonderful place. Cosy and comfortable with well maintained grounds that you are free to wander. Arreton Barns craft village has some nice shops, farm shop and a rather lovely pub.

Thank you Julia for being a welcoming and friendly host. We'll definitely be back.

Really special place to stay.

  • 5 of 5

We have now stayed at The Nook three times, a testament in itself as to how much we love it.

The Nook is a very unique property, situated in the wonderful grounds of Arreton Manor. It has been decorated and furnished with love and care, lots of attention to detail and every need catered for. You feel at home as soon as you walk through the door.

You are surrounded by trees, the wonderful gardens and look out onto the pond, frequented by the ducks for their evening bath! It is so peaceful. We loved listening to the birds and spotting all the different varieties.

The Nook has its own courtyard garden but, as guests, you are welcome to roam the extensive gardens. It is so lovely, after a day out, to sit by the pond with a glass of wine or two!

Within 3 minutes walk are two places serving good food plus an excellent farm shop.

Julia is extremely respectful of your privacy but is a lovely, friendly lady, happy to advise on places to visit and nice places to eat. From your very first communication she does everything to make your stay special.

We truly think this is a gem of a property as it combines being in a secluded, peaceful setting with being located centrally so ideal for exploring all the Island.

We cannot wait to return again!.

Steve and Kim.

An absolute holiday GEM on the Isle of Wight

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in April at this truly Amazing place. Julia Gray-ling was so kind and helpful, could not do enough for us. The Nook is an absolute delight with just about every single thing that you could want for the perfect holiday. When I say it was "home from home" that is not correct, my home is not as good as The Nook !

Thank you Julia, from

Hertfordshire.

Weekend stay at The Nook, Arreton Manor

  • 5 of 5

Thank you Julia for a fabulous stay in The Nook. The lovely cottage is located in the beautiful grounds of Arreton Manor. It has a warm cosy feel, well equipped kitchen and a big comfy bed.

Julia the owner maintains great communication prior to arrival and on arrival. The cottage is immaculate, well laid out and has everything anyone would need for a perfect holiday.

There are a couple of pubs within a few minutes walk, plus a fantastic well stocked farm shop...loved the fresh strawberries 😊

I would definitely recommend The Nook to anyone, and will be staying there again very soon.
