Perfect simply perfect

4 adults 1 11 year old. From arrival to departure we loved every second in Villa 2017. This was our 1st Villa booking. The owners are wonderful to communicate with and couldn't be more helpful. The villa has absolutely everything you need to make your holiday perfect. With more essentials in the kitchen than you'll ever need. 3 beautiful bedrooms. The master bedroom has a balcony with views over to Spain and a jacuzzi bath with large walk in shower. Hot water in abundance. Aircon very effective and the terrace large and well equipped the pool was just wonderful and looked after several times per week. Washing machine and tumble dryer (not that its needed) although great for softening towels. Supermarket 10 min drive in Vila real. Car needed however roads easy and no bother. Thank you for allowing us the privilege of your home. This was a 5☆ holiday

This location is extremely convenient for holidays. In Portugal yet Spain is within view from the house. Saville is only just over an hour away.

The villa is well laid out and spacious. It has all the required facilities and luxuries necessary for a great holiday.

The golf complex offers a challenge of 27 holes and there are six other courses within 20 minutes travelling time.

My wife and I would not hesitate to recommend this villa to anyone for either a short or long term vacation.

The owners make it a pleasure to rent and are wonderfully helpful.

We immediately loved the position and the tranquility and the stunning views, being situated in A Nature Reserve. As such you are away from the hustle and bustle or tourists but close to beautiful beaches and Spain just across the river, so very central. It is not what you normally perceive as a 'golf course' atmosphere feeling very relaxed. The layout of the villas is especially well thought out and has that luxurious ambiance and we bought it with our future "real" retirement in mind.

Location Information: Castro Marim Golf & Country Club is stylish and elegant and offers a warm welcome to all guests - and whether golfers or not, no visitor cannot fail to be impressed! The Clubhouse has spectacular panoramic views of neighbouring Spain and the Ocean where you can enjoy the peaceful ambience for drinks, snacks or dining in the elegant restaurant. Generally speaking, Castro Marim is an ideal place to visit if you prefer a more relaxed holiday where you can still enjoy a traditional feel of the Eastern Algarve with friendly locals and not too much evidence of tourism. Locally and only 1 km away, the village of Monte Francisco has 'Restaurant Lupisao' offering great Algarvian cuisine at reasonable prices. A little further (3 km) is the main town of Castro Marim which has retained a traditional feel with narrow streets full of character and a wider choice of restaurants, bars and cafes. There is also a supermarket selling a wide range of products and a large open air market that visits monthly. Another key feature of this town is the Castle which is open to the public and worth a visit - even if just to sample the fabulous views at the very least! Close by, Vila Real, the Portuguese border town facing Spain, is great for shopping and dining out. And also a must is a trip to Spain itself. A short drive across the bridge or the ferry trip from Vila Real will take you to the town of Ayamonte where you can sample the delights of a different country where Tapas, wine and shopping are in abundance! Beaches - Distance to the closest beaches is around 7 km. At either Cabeco or Praia Verde, you will find beautiful white sands and rolling oceans, perfect for sunbathing or family outings. They are all wonderfully clean and link between neighbouring resorts - perfect for long relaxing walks beside the ocean. At both beaches you will find good food at Cabeco, 'Sem Espinhas' is great for relaxed dining on the seashore and at Praia Verde - 'Pezinhos na Areia', offer

From the Owner

The clubhouse is a real bonus with its huge terraces. It is very relaxed and great for lunch or dinner and we often use it for just a quick salad at lunchtime or enjoy dinner in the company of our friends. It even opens at 7.30 for breakfast and the prices are very reasonable, even for the wine! It is a very short drive to historic Castro Marim with its ancient walled castle and Vila Real do Santo António beyond.

  • Notes on accommodation: On entering the villa, the main hallway leads to downstairs cloakroom, open plan kitchen, sitting room and dining areas. The kitchen has every appliance that you could wish for with a good supply of crockery and utensils. This leads to an open plan lounge and dining area with elegant décor and a bright and airy ambience. The large TV also has a DVD player. The 3 bedrooms are all with en-suite bathrooms. The master bedroom en suite bathroom also has a large jacuzzi bath, perfect for relaxing at the end of the day. To note, the twin bedrooms are ground floor, the master bedroom first floor. At the front of the house, a private area houses a laundry point with washing machine and tumble dryer. There is also a bin for refuse which is collected daily. To the rear of the house, the pool and sun terrace overlook the magnificent views of the nature reserve and Spain.
