About Tim Cook

Hi, Susie & I have owned our holiday home for 8 years and still love it! (don't get out as much as we would like but that work for you!)

We both love to travel & explore and so have found many stunning villages & places of interest in the area. We never get bored of sitting outside in the warm - either enjoying a Bar B Q with friends on the terrace or relaxing with a bottle of wine on the Balcony at night.

We hope you choose our home to enjoy your holiday in as well - we know you wont be disappointed..

Please feel free to call and talk to either of us about your interests or any questions you have on our home, area or facilities and we will be pleased to help.

Thank you

Tim & Susie

Tim Cook purchased this house in 2006

Why Tim Cook chose Ayamonte

We loved this area as somewhere to buy after exploring all of the more well known areas to try and find some of the "REAL SPAIN" when we came across Ayamonte and the surrounding villages we knew this was the place for us.

It did mean that we needed to practice our Spanish speaking skills (though most places now speak English and have menus in English as well as Spanish to help visitors) it still very much a real Spanish town not just a tourist resort area. Beautiful architecture, cobbled streets and fresh fish straight off the boats into the main fish market

Whether your staying during the winter months or the summer we are sure you will find heaps to entertain you either by sitting in one of the many piazza's or snuggling in one of the many small old bars or restaurants.

What makes this house unique

Perfect family or couple's holiday

Fun and a great home from home!

Guestbook comments from the owner

We have just returned with our two children from a weeks holiday in this property and we were delighted. They have obviously just decorated the place and all the furniture is all brand new - think we were the first ones to stay here!;)

The communal pool is lovely kids had great fun. quite small but never crowded and have loungers free to use and shower & toilet so didn't have to keep running back to house.

Enjoyed the garden & Bar B Q in evenings were lovely only eat out 1 x night

Ayamonte is really old Spain charm - will definitely be back to stay again - Thank you

I went here with my two boys ages 8 and 15. We have been here before and love the area. This townhouse was a great location opposite the pool. Very well equipped and had everything we needed spacious bedrooms and a spacious downstairs and great size kitchen and the bonus of a laundry room. Perfect holiday for either a couple or with children. The communal pool area is perfect shall

Winter long stay

  • 4 of 5

Just had a nine week stay, enjoyed every minute despite the weather not being perfect! The house was very clean and well furnished, and the log burner was excellent when it was chilly as it quickly heated all the room.

Paul and Krystyna from Purple Parrot, were excellent making sure that we had everything we needed. Also Tim the owner made sure we were happy with

everything, and replied instantly to any correspondence. We have only been home a day and already had the deposit refunded.

Excellent All Round Accommodation and Location

  • 4 of 5

Our second stay in this well located, secure and comfortable house, with all the facilities one needs for a good holiday.

The reservation process was again very efficient and owner Tim very conscientious in his dealings. He dealt with any queries ( and there were very few ) quickly, and sympathetically, with no argument.

Unlike a previous reviewer, I also found the local agents to be quick, efficiently and pleasant to deal with - no doubt primed by Tim.

The weather during our stay was extremely hot ( mid 30's) but the provision of A/C and fans, when needed, made the house comfortable at all times. Having 4 outside areas - garden, roof top terrace, bedroom balcony and front patio - gave ample choice of sun or shathe.

One does need a car to gain full benefit from the area, to enjoy the nearby pleasures of Ayamonte, Isla Canela and nearby Portuguese resorts, though the golf clubhouse is within easy walking walking distance. The clubhouse is much improved in recent years, and has a good, varied and affordable menu. It is open to golfers and non-golfers alike.

The golf course itself is much improved from recent years, and provides good golf for both low and medium handicappers ( like ourselves ), at with reasonable green fees.

Within 20 mins drive and over the border in Portugal are the excellent courses of Castro Marim and Quinto do Vale, but with higher Green Fees.

We hope to return again when we can.

Great stay but a few elements to sort out

  • 4 of 5

Three of us had a great stay here. For those with a car the location is excellent. Ayamonte, close by, is a lovely town with lots of cafes and restaurants. Access to beaches is very good too. There is a small shop and bar close to the house so you can get supplies without needing the car. The property is ideal also for exploring the Eastern Algarve and the lovely town of Tavira. We also had a wonderful day in Seville. The communal grounds of the urbanisation are kept beautifully; the pool facilities were great and we were often the only ones using it. The house itself is spacious with the bedrooms being an excellent size. We really appreciated the roomy bathrooms too, the balconies and the roof terrace. It was all very peaceful too. Lots that we liked about the property but there were a few issues that I would check the owner has resolved before your arrival. When we arrived at night the key to the property was not where it should have been and dealing with the property management company, Purple Parrott, was quite tricky as they distance themselves from any responsibility. Luckily I always found Tim quick to respond to communication so he helped us to gain access but it still took a couple of very stressful hours. We had the feeling that we were caught in the middle of some minor dispute between owner and Purple Parrott, as has been noted elsewhere on the web with different owners. So I would be cautious about booking a property managed by them again. The house was let down a little by not being dressed to the standard as shown in the pictures, the sun umbrella was broken and the two sun lounger cushions were well past their bin by date. We have reported these to the owner so hopefully they will be sorted soon. We reported these breakages that had occurred before our visit and had no problems recovering the full deposit. This is a lovely property that just needs a little care and attention so that it reflects fully the offer as advertised in the pictures.

Owner's Response: Dear Nick . Thanks for your comments I am pleased that after the false start you had a lovely holiday and enjoyed all the house, resort and local area has to offer. We fell I love with it hence buying a home there!. I am pleased to say that the new people in charge at purple Parrott are doing a good job of getting on top of some house keeping issues so new umbrella and cushions now ordered so next time you visit will all be perfect! We look forward to welcoming you back again in the future Thanks. Tim

not as described

  • 1 of 5

Unfortunately this house was not as pictured or described on the HomeAway website. We rented this house for a month. The photographs shown were taken several years ago and led us to be massively disappointed especially with the outside space. The garden was overgrown with weeds and evidence of grass was minimal. There was cat litter and a major ant presence in the center of the garden space. The garden furniture was a mixture of decrepit sun loungers and filthy table and chairs.

Fly screens were broken and ineffectual. Inside was better but lacking the depiction of a comfortable home. A bottom stair tile was smashed and unable to bear weight and was strategically in the way of our 89 year old parent attempting to negotiate her way. More disappointing was the bedroom air conditioning unit that did not work and a visiting engineer confirmed it needed to be replaced. We contacted the owner on several occasions with no reply as the management company simply diverted our frustration by suggesting that all would be fine as the owner was arriving in July to address the situation, AFTER we had left.

The bathrooms were also in a poor state and we had to clean tiles around the bath with bleach to remove mould.

We left the property after two and a half weeks and rented another property close by at considerable extra cost.

We have many photographs to justify this review. We do feel that some sort of explanation is necessary.

Owner's Response: We were incredibly disappointed to have received this review as feel it to be unfair as it was the first we knew anything was wrong so of course had no opportunity to fix during their visit. However we have addressed some of their very valid points by installing a new air conditioning unit, mosquito screen and repaired the broken tile that the guests before damaged upon leaving. We have also ensured that our gardener & cleaners have given things a thorough going over to ensure everything is up to the standard we expect for our guests & ourselves.

Excellent Holiday Venue

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I have just returned from a 3 week holiday in this house.

We have taken self catering holidays all over the world for the past 50 yrs (we are 'senior citizens'! ), and have visited Ayamonte annually for the last 15 yrs.

This is one of the best accommodations we have stayed in - well equipped, well furnished and very comfortable with everything one needs for a lovely holiday. Ample area to eat out in the sunshine, and we particularly enjoyed the views from the roof terrace.

Tim was easy and helpful to deal with.

We are keen golfers and play every other day. There are many courses within 1 hr drive. (a car is essential here). Local courses of Esuri and Isla Canela are a good challenge, flat - buggies not necessary. The newish course of Quita del Vale, 10 mins over the border in Portugal is longer, more of a technical challenge, and very enjoyable. A buggie is recommended here.

The Esuri Golf Club itself is much improved this year with good restaurant ,enjoyable, reasonably priced 'theme' nights, and open to both golfers and non-golfers alike

The town of Ayamonte is just 5 mins drive away, with a wide selection of restaurants. Our favourite is the Le Puerto Ancha in the town square. One can eat inside or out. Very popular and pre-booking is advised.

We would certainly use again, and highly recommend to friends (but not before we make our own booking first!)

Nice place... but could be better!

  • 3 of 5

Costa eSuri is a good place to spend holidays with family and friends.

Fantastic weather, good beaches at 15/20 min by car (needed) and near a lot of interesting places both in Portugal and Spain.

The house is spacious and with a nice and cool garden and has everything you need, including wifi internet for teenagers and for (some) adults also and nice swimming pools. Even the ocasional drop of internet and some tv channels can't be considered a big problem. The only thing to point out is the heat in the bedrooms! Only one of them has air-conditioning and the fans in the other rooms are noisy and not very effective.

Be aware that the deposit return can be a difficult and annoying issue, as was in my case, and you have no one to mediate it! I had to pay for sheets and towels with stains that could be washable, also for extra cleaning even when we left the house very cleaned, and had to dispute a broken fan and a broken coffee machine that were already in that condition.

In conclusion, will return to Costa eSuri but not to here, there are better places for this money.

Owner's Response: We have been renting our home for several years now and this is the first occasion where we have withheld any deposit at all. We employ a local on site rental agency who informed us that the property had been left unusually dirty which required additional cleaners to be brought in to have the house ready for new guests that afternoon. Despite washing the sheets & towels in question the blood stains would not come out and so for the comfort of future guests they were of course replaced. We did not charge for the broken coffee maker or fan as Mr Geudes said they were damaged when they arrived which we took in good faith to be the case. We are pleased to say that 99% of our guests love our house, location and service we offer and hope you will too! Tim & Susie x
