"Stunning"

I have just returned from a fabulous fortnight in this beautiful villa. The photographs do not really do it justice, I went to the villa with friends and we had a great time. The views over Hisoranu and the mountains were stunning whatever time of day. - Wendy, UK

"Home from Home"

We stayed as a group of 3 couples all in our 40’s and 50’s and found that Halcyon Days is a real home from home. A quiet location with spectacular mountain views but only a few minutes away from lively, but not overbearing Hisaronu, and a couple of minutes more down to Olu Deniz. There are a number of small family restaurants; quiet bars and well stocked convenience stores 5 minutes walk away. The local store will even deliver an order, as will several of the restaurants if you can’t drag yourself away from the views. The house is very well equipped, to the point where I can safely say we didn’t ever run out of cutlery. Plenty of top quality pots and pans, sharp knives (a pet problem for me usually on holiday), and all the modern kitchen conveniences you will ever need. The living areas are equally well-equipped, comfortable sofas, expanding dining table, big screen TV and dozens of world satellite stations. DVDs, PlayStation, books – never short of something to do in the 2 short spells of rain that we had. 3G Wi-Fi is available by a portable dongle. It provides very good connectivity for multiple devices. Top up for the credit is available at the local CES convenience. Take the credit card sized plastic sheet that held the sim card in. 4GB costs 32Tl (June 2014) and lasted for the entire 2 weeks using iPads, phones and a laptop. Be sure to ask for WIFI or Internet credit rather than phone credit. There are 2 King size beds, both en-suite, one with a shower and it’s own kitchen and fridge and huge corner sofa, the other with a corner Jacuzzi bath. There are 2 other double size rooms with twin beds. Every bedroom has a balcony or terrace access and plenty of storage. Outside the stone and railed gardens around the large pool offer some tranquility to relax in. There are beautiful views down the valley and across 9 or 10 peaks in the distance. Non-slip stone, comfortable to walk on, lawns that reach the perimeter and with large developing shrubs and palms, surrounds the pool. 8 sunbeds with cushions and 2 sets of outside seating in the sun or the shade adorn the terraces. Parking inside the gated walls for a hire vehicle. The last 90 yards to the house is stone and dirt track. Easily handled by the hire car, walked by everyone but not suitable for a wheelchair. A taxi rank is about 150 yards down hill. There’s a call button to send a car if there isn’t one there when you roll up. The team that is on hand to take care of any issues" - TooTallTel, UK

Stunning

  • 5 of 5

I have just returned from a fabulous fortnight in this beautiful villa. The photographs do not really do it justice, I went to the villa with friends and we had a great time. The views over Hisoranu and the mountains were stunning whatever time of day. The pool was cleaned daily and the garden maintained to perfection by a lovely man who's name I cannot pronounce!! (sorry). We did have a couple of problems with a power cut but it was sorted out pretty quickly by the friendly staff. I would definitely return to the villa. There are only a couple of small issues that I would suggest changing in the description and they are 1. the coffee machine is not Nespresso ( found that out on arrival after buying pods to take with us) 2. we did not find an I pod docking station. 3. maybe an 'idiots guide' to the villa would be really helpful e.g where to take rubbish, where is the I pod docking station, remote controls for lighting etc. However these were just very small issues that will probably be ironed out as time goes on. The owners have

done a fabulous job of making sure that the villa is well equipped for guests and has every comfort you could wish for. Well worth a visit.

Location

From the Owner

This area of Turkey is truly extraordinary and everyone who visits here will most certainly return. The scenery is beautiful, the activities are almost endless and the history is varied and interesting - there is something for everyone, and this is before considering the warmth and welcoming nature of the people. Ovacik sits above Hisaronu with Oludeniz to the left and Fethiye to the right. It has it's own bars and restaurants or for a more dynamic and energetic vibe Hisaronu is a very short distance away, and the Oludeniz seafront is a few minutes down the road. The villa is in an area which feels peaceful and exclusive but nearby guests will find any activity or entertainment they could want.

Further Details:

This region of Turkey provides a variety of places to visit, activities to entertain and ancient history is there for all to enjoy. The world famous Oludeniz is the nearest beach and can be reached by car or by using the Dolmus (local bus). The area is a stunning coastline surrounded by mountains - see photo's provided. The main beach is public and the Dolmus stops here. The Blue Lagoon is a little further on past Oludeniz beach; the area is protected so there is a small charge but well worth it. There is a wide variety of bars and restaurants in Oludeniz, many with fine sea views. The area is also famous for paragliding, participants launch from the mountain behind and land on the beach, this activity can be booked in Oludeniz or Hisaronu.

Hisaronu is a lively little town with many bars restaurants and shops. There are a multitude of activities for children including fun parks, trampolines and go carts and quad bikes for older 'kids'.

Fethiye is the local main town and is only a 15 minute Dolmus ride. There is a large market on Tuesdays and a farmers veggie market on Fridays. It is a beautiful harbour town with a marina and many bars and restaurants along the harbour. To go shopping head for the "old Town". For good food head for the fish market.

Kaya Valley is about 15 minutes past Hisaronu and is the setting for the Louis de Bernieres novel "Birds without wings". The village is set in a tranquil and beautiful valley with lovely local restaurants - we can make recommendations if required. Kaya is a traditional village with lots of history and many ruins to view it is often referred to as the 'Ghost Town'.

There are so many activities and days out to enjoy, just relax and have fun!

Facilities

From the Owner

I bought this villa because from the moment I stepped through the door it felt like the home I always wanted. The experience is more of a home, than a holiday home. It is warm, comfortable and inviting but also has the wow factor we are all looking for when we go on holiday. This villa is conveniently located, has stunning views and is located in an area where activities, entertainment and history are readily available. However, if what you want is to relax in a stunning home with everything a modern home has to offer without the need for booking trips and activities every day, then this is it. Wake up, go for a swim in the heated pool, enjoy cafe quality coffee, the home entertainments, the stunning views, then order in and open the wine.
