About the property

Cottage in Sennen Cove, Sennen, Cornwall, England - Stunning location on the coast path to lands end and 15 minutes walk to the cove and beach

The cottage was built in the late 1800s for the lighthouse keepers. It has been recently updated and includes a cosy sitting room with wood burning stove, a sitting dining room, well equipped kitchen, bathroom with shower. Fully centrally heated. A short walk down to Sennen Cove with Old Success Pub, shop, beach restaurant and beautiful Whitesands bay with all year round surfing. Just 3/4 mile walk along the coast path to Lands End. Close by are St Michaels Mount, The Minack Theatre, Mousehole and St Ives. During August the weekly Lands End Firework Spectacular can be viewed from the garden of the cottage. In December visit the Christmas Lights festival in Mousehole.

About Diane powell

We bought this cottage in Sennen Cove in 2013, where we have been coming for many happy years with our family. We are very happy to have our own place to come to and we hope you will enjoy your visit as much as we do every time rain or shine!

Why Diane powell chose Sennen Cove

Sennen cove has everything. A beautiful and popular surfing beach and a happy busy atmosphere during peak season. Outside the season there is plenty to do close by but the cove retains its attraction.

In our view the setting takes some beating from anywhere in the world.

What makes this cottage unique

The property is convenient for the cove and yet has some privacy being set right on the edge with spectacular views of the sea and next to farm land. Sometimes the cows can be found grazing in the field right next to the garden.

There is parking at the property, enough for 2 cars. In the winter the cottage is warm and cosy with central heating and a wood burning stove. The Old Success pub is friendly and provides traditional food and a great atmosphere. The beach restaurant is also popular for a special evening out.

Guestbook comments from the owner

An ideal holiday cottage set in superb location. 5 of us stayed here with plenty of room. Probably had the best sleep I've had in over a year in a brilliantly comfortable bed. Wonderful weekend with wonderful weather. Surfing good.

Fantastic holiday. Wonderful cottage in a perfect location. Great weather and coastal walks starting from the door. Hardly drove all week. Tea and cake at Porthgwarra on walk to Porthcurno is a must. Old Success is a lovely pub with good food. We will be back. Thanks

Lovely house in stunning location. We had a great time. Thank you

Lovely house with great views and setting

  • 5 of 5

We all loved our stay at the property. beautifully furnished and well equipped. We stayed in November and wow what a week! The setting is fantastic with breathtaking sunsets from the garden and the view from the main bedroom was my favourite...orion at night and the longship in the day. We would love to stay again sometime. Thank you Diane.

You could not ask for anymore, beautiful surroundings, cosy cottage and very well placed.

I don't think I've come back from a holiday more relaxed! And the kids loved the local walks. We will be staying here again!!

Fantastic cottage

  • 5 of 5

We have been to Cornwall many times and love it so much . We have stayed in this cottage 3 times now and is by far our as the advantage of being quite remote just off the coast path with fantastic views over to land end and the crashing waves, but walkable into the village which is quite unspoiled with a fantastic pub the old success inn and yummy cake shop , little bo,s .it has the most fantastic beach which never fails to take my breath away ...the coastal walks are fab right from the door . We didn't use the car once . We walked to porthcurno with fantastic coast line and the Minack theatre in one direction and Cape cornwall in the other . We also loved the coast line around St just to pendeen passing all the mines . The cottage is fanatstic with cosy beds and log burner for the Cosy nights after a long walk . We have been to sennen with my older children who loved the surfing and just the 2 of us for an out of season break. Love this cottage as it feels like home and can't wait to be back

Owner's Response: Thank you for this lovely review. We are always pleased to hear that guests have enjoyed their stay in this lovely location. Just thought it important to add to the recommendations made that it does suit over 55s and many come for the walks however I should point out that it is up a hill. We are also children friendly.

Perfect Cottage

  • 5 of 5

A beautifully furnished, perfect cottage in an idyllic location.

The cottage is cosy and welcoming with stunning views and easy access to the coastal footpath to Land's End. The beach at Sennen cove is easily accessible and very beautiful.

Little Bo Cafe on the seafront, with its friendly staff and lovely interior, is a fantastic place for breakfast, morning coffee, lunch or dinner!

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and did not want to leave.

Fabulous location!

  • 4 of 5

Such a lovely cottage in a special location. Our family of 5 found the cottage spacious and very comfortable. The two reception rooms work very well if you are wanting different activities. I loved the window seat in both rooms for having a coffee, reading and enjoying the views.

We all slept very well down to the comfortable beds and sea air!

We enjoyed the path to Land's End for run in the mornings coming back by the more interesting rocky path and so suiting different tastes.

I have put four stars simply as I would prefer a few more items in the kitchen to make catering easier for example another chopping board and also a broom to sweep up sand rather than just the hoover. However these are minor points and the cottage is generally well equipped so we highly recommend the property. We very much hope to return again.

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for your feedback. It is important to us that you enjoy your holiday and find the cottage to your liking. I agree a sweeping brush would be a good idea and I will definitely review the kitchen equipment. I hope you will come again! Diane

The Perfect Romantic Retreat

  • 5 of 5

We have visited Cornwall numerous times but this was by far the most welcoming and spectacular place we have stayed. With views over Lands End, Longships Lighthouse and in the distance the Isles of Scilly. On this visit we were greeted by magnificent rolling waves crashing on Longships Rocks

This was our honeymoon and we couldn't of wished for a more perfect retreat. Wifi is available for those who wish to use it and a lovely warming Log burner for that added romantic touch. The furnishings are very much in keeping with this cottages history. Being practical and well chosen but also very comfortable.

As a keen photographer there is plenty to see and explore from scenery to wildlife. There are plenty of walks to be enjoyed and Sennen Beach is famous for its Surfing. Sennen Cove is a lovely village and boasts one of the nicest pubs (The Old Success) with great food and warm friendly and helpful staff.

We are already planning our return for our anniversary. As this is one of those places that you can just keep coming back to year after year.
