Ciel Bleu 1&2 is a spectacular 115 sqm 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment.

It comprises of a large open plan living room with American style kitchen, a second living area, second separate kitchen, 2 large double bedrooms, a twin bedroom and two luxury shower rooms with walk-in rain showers and limestone tiles.

In the living rooms there are 2 flat screen TV’s both with Apple TV and Netflix. There is also high speed unlimited Fibre Optic (>80MB) Wi-Fi broadband.

Almost all rooms have access to the full-length balcony.

There are large patio doors and high ceilings in every room meaning the light is fantastic as are the far-reaching roof-top and mountain views.

Additionally the apartment benefits from full reversible air-conditioning, parquet flooring throughout and double-glazing.

Please note that the apartment is on the 5th floor and there is no lift..

Luxury Penthouse Apartments

The Ciel Bleu Buffa apartments occupy the whole of the top floor of a beautiful building in the exclusive Carre d’Or (Golden Square) area of Nice.

The location is superb being just 100 metres from the sea and within a short walk of all the main tourist sites. Additionally there are countless fantastic restaurants and cafes on the doorstep and the train station is less than 10 minutes walk.

There is a 55 square metre 1 bedroom apartment and a 60 square metre 2 bedroom apartment. Also, uniquely, there are sound proofed double doors between the two apartments meaning for larger groups they can be opened to provide 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.

Therefore the apartments can provide accommodation for group sizes from one to seven people.

Both apartments have access to the full wrap-around balcony.

Buffa 1 (55sqm one bedroom apartment):

Additionally the apartment has full reversible air-conditioning, parquet floors and double-glazing throughout.

The living room has access to the balcony. With full-length patio doors and high ceilings in each room the light is fantastic as are the far-reaching rooftop and mountain views.

The adjoining doors between the 2 apartments are between the living rooms in the centre. This means that both of the living rooms and kitchens are in the middle with bedrooms and bathrooms at either end. This works very well for large groups who want to be together but still maintain a certain amount of privacy.

Please note that the apartments are situated on the 5th floor of the building and there isn’t a lift. The stairs are wide and not at all steep and there is a banister. We think it is well worth the walk but we do appreciate that apartments may be unsuitable for some guests needing easy access.

Note that our apartment manager meets all guests on arrival and can help with taking luggage up the stairs if needed.

Why Mike chose Nice

The apartments on Rue de La Buffa have been recently renovated.

The apartments are situated less than 100 metres from the sea in the exclusive Carre d'Or area. The location provides the perfect compromise between being in the thick of the action and also being in a relatively quiet residential building.

As well as the highest quality fixtures and fittings the thing that really makes these apartments stand out is the fantastic roof-top and mountain views.

All the rooms have full length patio doors which makes the light absolutely fantastic.

There is also a wrap around balcony running the full length of both apartments which provides the vital outdoor space for relaxing.

Booking Notes:
For bookings made well in advance a 25% deposit is payable to secure the reservation with the balance due 45 days before the start of your holiday.
Payment is made by bank transfer in EUR or by credit card through the OwnersDirect site.
For bookings made within 45 days the full amount will be payable to secure the reservation.
A €300 security deposit (or £ equivalent) is payable either in advance with the booking fee or in cash on arrival on arrival.

Check-in time is 3pm-6pm. Check-out is between 10am and midday.
We can provide a late check-in but an additional fee is payable. For check-in between 6pm and 9pm the amount is 30 Euro, for check-in after 9pm the amount is 50 Euro.

Good for two families or older children

We booked these apartments in Nice so that our 15 year old son could invite a couple of friends and have a bit of independence. It worked very well - they had some privacy- but still had us to cook for them! It would have been a bit better had the double bed been able to be separated to become twins, but they didn't seem to mind. The wifi and Apple TV were a hit - apparently French Netflix has a bigger selection of films than the UK according to my son. It meant that we could also rent a movie or play things on the TV that we'd downloaded from the bbc i player to our phones before we left the UK.

The flats are on a main street, so there's a bit of traffic noise in the living rooms if the French windows are open, but the bedrooms are quiet at the back. There's a supermarket very close by and it's a short walk to the centre and just back from the beach.

The booking process all worked very smoothly and we were met at the flats despite the awkward hour. We were also allowed to do a late checkout as no one was due in straight behind us.

The flights of stairs were actually a good thing given our inability to resist the patisseries! We would thoroughly recommend the apartments to a group looking for a similar type of holiday

High quality, lovely bright apartments

We stayed in the combined Ciel Bleu apartments and absolutely loved them. They are very recently refurbished so everything was clean and smart. The location is fantastic - a couple of minutes walk from the beach and near cafes and mini supermarkets and not noisy.

With the two apartments together, there were two bathrooms and two kitchens and two lounges (together with three bedrooms) so acres of space for a group of friends or extended family! They are very well equiped with everything you could need for a wonderful break away. The bathrooms are luxurious with plenty of hot water for showers.

There is a narrow balcony running around the apartments (which is lovely to sit out on for a glass of wine in the evening) and lots of windows which keep the apartments bright. The air conditioning worked very well too.

Mike was very helpful with all the arrangements beforehand and Nathalie met us outside the apartment and made sure we settled in and arranged for a taxi to take us back to the airport at the end of our stay. This made the whole break very easy and relaxing.

We coped well with the stairs - although it is quite a climb at five flights, it is worth it!

We will definitely stay at the apartments again next time we come to Nice!

Lovely flats

We stayed in Ciel Bleu 1 and 2 - grandparents in Ciel Bleu 1, (one bed flat) Mum, Dad and child in the larger two bed CB2. The interconnected flats were a great idea. We really enjoyed our stay which was peaceful and pleasant. Well located within easy reach of Promenade des Anglais and main shopping areas. Carrefour supermarket supplies a lovely selection of great quality food and is located just around the corner from the flats so self catering was a joy and very easy. Both apartments have been sympathetically renovated with modern fittings and fixtures which still respect the traditional character of what is a lovely old building. Double glazing provided good soundproofing. Both flats were beautifully furnished, with a clean all white look and light, natural toned, linen look fabrics. The light and airy interior decor provided a real wow factor when we arrived. Comfortable sofas and seating provided in both flats. Air conditioning was modern and efficient. Kitchen well equipped with modern fixtures and fittings and equipment. There was no microwave however, which would have been useful. TV system was not fully working in both flats as it was being upgraded so that was slightly disappointing but we were out much of the time so it did not really matter. Good DVDS provided in CB1. Bathrooms were very spacious in both flats and very nicely tiled and equipped. CB2 had a wet room. Lovely painted wrought iron balcony wraps around both flats with table and chairs provided for both flats. There is a small half balcony in the back bedrooms in CB 2. The stairs were quite a climb - the 5 flights may not suit those with mobility or health issues. The marble treads and traditional French architecture of the building made the quite formidable climb more pleasant however! All in all, we really enjoyed our time in the flats - they were quite a find. We would recommend the flats and would be very happy to return soon. Merci!
