Great for extended family group

  • 5 of 5

We were a group comprising 6 adults and 5 children ranging in age from 14 to 7 months meeting for a family birthday. We rented both cottages so one family and children had one cottage whilst the other family and grandparents had the other. The cottages are slightly different in layout, one with a small garden area and fishpond and the other with a large enclosed lawn. This proved ideal as we had some meals on the terrace of one cottage and in one or other of the dining/kitchen areas. The large lawned area was perfect for the children to have games and run around. The 2 year old loved the smaller lawned area because there were trees, a wooden sea and fishpond but quickly found the path round the side of the house leading to the large inviting lawn of the other cottage. As we had intended to celebrate at the cottage this was perfect and we did not venture far apart from Broadway for a couple of hours and an evening stroll nearby. The weather was glorious so no real need to do much other than enjoy these cottages. However they were chosen because they looked comfortable should the weather be bad. There were 2 fires laid ready for lighting with some itching to light them. Luckily there was no real need. No hesitation in recommending these cottages for the reasons set out above. If a meal out is required, there appear to be a number of small pretty villages around which could accommodate this. Nice touch with sponge cake left as a welcome in both cottages.
