Daisy Cottage is so quaint! Beautifully kept, well equipped, its all you need for a relaxing stay.

  • 5 of 5

Our experience staying at Daisy Cottage was very relaxing and peaceful..a truly lovely place to unwind. The garden was also a delight to sit in.. watching the canal boats sail by in the wooden gazebo at the bottom of the garden. The owners Jo and Marcus were very pleasant and helpful..nothing was too much trouble. The oldie worldie canal side pub is a stones throw away, along with the Churnet Steam railway . Great picturesque walks from the cottage, our dog had a great time! ☺ Th

Lovely position, owners very helpful. Dog Friendly Pub just across the way, with good home cooked meals. Feed the local pigs down the road. Stuning views, I could have happily stayed for ever.

A perfect break

  • 5 of 5

Daisy cottage is in the perfect spot for a relaxing break. The situation of the cottage is idyllic. Surrounded by beautiful countryside for relaxing walks along the canal and nearby river. The pub across the road is very convenient and sells good food and wine. The cottage is comfortable and relaxing. The bedrooms are very pretty with comfortable beds and the lovely windows that allow a refreshing breeze through the cottage. It's convenient for many places of interest and lots of places to eat near by. We will certainly be going back again. Thank you Joanne and Marcus

Lovely cosy cottage

  • 5 of 5

Four of us had a lovely stay during the Easter break. The cottage was cosy and was home from home with everything you would need for awonderful stay. We enjoyed safe canalside walks from the bottom of the garden and it was a unique experience to have the steam train station across the road. The pub opposite was welcoming and we enjoyed a lunch there.

The cottage was clean and well maintained and the kitchen was really well equipped for self catering if required.

Jo popped by to make sure we had settled in and had everything we needed, giving us tips and advice about local places to eat.

I would definitely recommed a stay in this cosy cottage in a unique location.

a really lovely week

  • 4 of 5

The cottage was lovely and had everything we needed! The kids loved their rooms and we especially loved the garden. Excellent location with plenty to see and do. Locals very friendly. Great Base for wider exploring. We hired bikes too and enjoyed the many cycle routes. Overall an excellent place and we hope to be back!

Home from home

We had the most amazing time at Daisy cottage. We loved the fact that you left us coal and wood for your log fire and that we could treat your home (which is just so cute) as if it was ours. The surrounding area is just beautiful, we had an 11 and 15 yr old and went for walks and badger spotting at night! It made all of us just spend time together, really a magic place. It is a great place for anyone my partner has been ill and has limited walking but could still enjoy the safe walks along the canal. I hope that we will get to visit again. Thank you

Owner's Response: Thank you Olive and Salv for your lovely review. We are really pleased that you enjoyed your stay at Daisy Cottage and are just sorry that we didn't get the opportunity to meet you this time as we were away ourselves. We would be very happy to welcome you back again in the future. Kind regards Jo and Marcus.

  • Notes on accommodation: Daisy Cottage has a beautiful cottage garden but it is quite steep and joins the Caldon Canal at the bottom of the garden. The stair case to the first floor is open to one side and therefore care must be taken if you have small children. Outside: The garden is located in front of Daisy Cottage. There is a seating area on the decking which enjoys views of the valley and the canal. The wooden lodge at the bottom of the garden provides shelter and a peaceful location to enjoy the tranquillity of the canal and a great place to listen to and watch the birds. The garden is a great place to watch the narrow boats passing by and to feed the ducks. Just a short stroll from the cottage you can visit the Churnet Valley Railway museum or just watch the steam and diesel trains passing by. The trains can also be seen from the cottage. Also you can visit the pigs who live in the wood near the railway station. Just beyond the station there are open fields and lovely walks. There are a number of dairy farms close by so you will often see cows sheep in the fields which you can see from the Daisy Cottage. Parking is available on the slabbed area at the top of the garden. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and linen are include
