About Clive Bartram
My wife runs a small business with our youngest daughter, she loves meeting people and has great sense of humour. I have loved and worked with old buildings for many years and continue to help clients, when they run into problems with difficult repairs. We both enjoy and value our down time together, we are always looking forward to and planning our next time out!
Like many people today we have travelled extensively, We like to stay in nice places, with a touch of luxury and charm. So we have tried to create a special destination that we would love to stay ourselves. We are therefore delighted when our guests express their pleasure in the breaks they have taken with us.
Clive Bartram purchased this cottage in 2000
Why Clive Bartram chose Malvern Hills
We both fell in love with Oldcastle Farm when we first saw it, my wife loved the Tudor framed buildings named in the doomsday book which we have carefully restored over the years, I was taken with the position, sitting in the foothills of the Malverns, tucked away in a beautiful spot, with views to die for. We are part of a pretty village, with classic cricket green and Norman church. We are so close to all the amenities, the village and towns close by, with many social and cultural attractions, throughout the year.
What makes this cottage unique
Our four children have now all left home, I like to cycle and walk the hills, my wife likes to relax in true tranquillity. We both love the gardens and the lake with its wildlife, the duck chicks in the spring, it all gives us great pleasure as the seasons unfold. We are keen for our guests to enjoy all that Oldcastle offers and perhaps also to be captured by its atmosphere and beauty, as we have been.

Beautiful Cottage at the foot of the stunning Malvern Hills
Myself and 5 girlfriends stayed in Hot Tub cottage last weekend and we had a wonderful time. The cottage is surprisingly spacious and very comfortable with all mod cons (except a washing machine, but who wants to wash on a weekend away anyway!). There are laundry facilities on site I believe, so if you were staying for a week that need could be catered for. Clive (the owner) lives on site and was happy to pop over and help us out when we couldn't get the Hot Tub to "bubble" our user error NOT an error with the tub! There was a bottle of wine and a box of chocolates in the cottage to welcome us which was a really nice touch. The cottage is very rural and the big bonus is that you can walk from the cottage to the hills without having to move your car. Take maps with you though (we didn't and nearly got lost in the hills!). There are pubs which serve good food in walking distance and the supermarkets will deliver your shopping directly to the cottage which saves time and is really convenient. We had a wonderful "chill out" and would definitely recommend this cottage to anyone.
Hot tub cottage, just fantastic
Beautiful cottage with everything you could possibly want Very peaceful with beautiful surroundings, if you want to get away from it all I would definitely recommend this cottage hope to return in the not to distant future!!
A very comfortable holiday cottage that had everything we needed. Very clean and well maintained. It was set in a very private, quiet location, in a beautiful part of the world. The owner, Clive, was very friendly and helpful. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this property.
Great cottage, beautiful surroundings, highly recommended for a relaxing break.
We wanted a comfortable cottage in peaceful surroundings. This cottage fitted the bill. It had everything we could need and more. It was clean and comfortable with plenty of room for us all to relax. The countryside is beautiful and has some lovely towns. Sitting in the hot tub surrounded by views of the hills was a real treat after a day out walking or exploring the local attractions. A great holiday!
Fred's family break.
First impression of the cottage was the feeling of a cosy, warm place to stay. We had 6 adults and 3 children and found that it still felt roomy. It's situation is a delight with the countryside all around us. I would have no hesitation in recommending this cottage to my friends and family.
