About the Owner

My wife runs a small business with our youngest daughter, she loves meeting people and has great sense of humour. I have loved and worked with old buildings for many years and continue to help clients, when they run into problems with difficult repairs. We both enjoy and value our down time together, we are always looking forward to and planning our next time out!

Like many people today we have travelled extensively, We like to stay in nice places, with a touch of luxury and charm. So we have tried to create a special destination that we would love to stay ourselves. We are therefore delighted when our guests express their pleasure in the breaks they have taken with us.

Guestbook comments from the owner

“We recently stayed at Falstaff Cottage at Oldcastle Farm and what a fabulous venue it is, idyllic. The cottages are set in their own private grounds in a great spot to relax and enjoy the stunning views. The ambience and décor were superb, a combination of old and new, with modern touches to enjoy such as the hot tub which we took full advantage of. All the sights and amenities provided by this fabulous area of England are very nearby but after a day out we really looked forward to returning to our cottage. Many thanks to Clive and his family and staff for providing such a wonderful experience”

Beautiful

  • 5 of 5

My family and I stayed at Falstaff cottage and it was beautiful, so clean and tidy. The cottage has so much character, we didn't want to leave. I contacted Clive in advance as we wanted to bring our two dogs and he was so accommodating with us bringing them. The grounds are so beautiful and the surrounding area was gorgeous. Every day we took the dogs for a long walk and they absolutely loved it. I would definitely recommend this cottage; we only stayed for the weekend but wished we had booked a week. Will definitely return in the future!

Lovely location

  • 3 of 5

This is a lovely location. The cottage is nice but is a bit tired looking in places and could do with some improvements. It has no air conditioning and is very warm in the bedrooms. There are no wardrobes and the fridge is very small. These things did not spoil our stay and we had a lovely time. We had a lovely meal at the Thai restaurant in the village.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your feed back, Just to respond to the points raised. There is a large double wardrobe in Falstaff plus a single tall boy. There also a dressing table and chests of drawers. So i dont understand? The cottage was totally refurbished 2 years ago and the paint work is touched in every winter. Repairs are carried out on an ongoing basis as anything arises. I am not aware of any "tired" elements. We do not advertise air conditioning, however we do have large ceiling fans in the lounge and supply smaller fans to the bedrooms. I agree the fridge being an under the counter fridge is not a full height fridge. Thanks for your taking the time to give a review, we are always seeking ways in how we can improve things for our guests.

Location

From the Owner

We both fell in love with Oldcastle Farm when we first saw it, my wife loved the Tudor framed buildings named in the doomsday book which we have carefully restored over the years, I was taken with the position, sitting in the foothills of the Malverns, tucked away in a beautiful spot, with views to die for. We are part of a pretty village, with classic cricket green and Norman church. We are so close to all the amenities, the village and towns close by, with many social and cultural attractions, throughout the year.

Facilities

From the Owner

Our four children have now all left home, I like to cycle and walk the hills, my wife likes to relax in true tranquillity. We both love the gardens and the lake with its wildlife, the duck chicks in the spring, it all gives us great pleasure as the seasons unfold. We are keen for our guests to enjoy all that Oldcastle offers and perhaps also to be captured by its atmosphere and beauty, as we have been.
