About Jeffrey Bogan

The owners are Australians who fell in love with Italy and decided to buy a second home for their own use during the Italian summer. The house was restored to a high standard as a home away from home during the summer.

The owners have spent every summer in the house since 2006 (and 2 winters), completing additional improvements to the property on each visit.

The owners have been accepted into the small community as everybody in the village is very welcoming and friendly.

Jeffrey Bogan purchased this cottage in 2005

Why Jeffrey Bogan chose Lucca Area

It is in a mountain village only minutes to a restaurant, 2 bars, general store, a butcher. The house has amazing views from the top where we placed the jacuzzi.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Whats so wonderful about Casa Bogani is that you arrive to spend time in a home that has been lovingly restored to preserve what is so beautiful about the history of the region but it also incorporates all of the comforts you want on holiday. The local village, the produce, the neighbours, the intangible subtleties and charms of Italian living is all there. However, the cheeky treat of sipping prosecco in a bubbling spa overlooking the valley at sunset cannot be underestimated! On my trip I loved that the house provided perfect spaces for solitary reflection and also convivial feasting just bellissimo! Alexie G (Australia).

We loved every minute of staying at Casa Bogani. It is your dream Italian holiday where you combine being almost a local, living in a small Italian village in a traditional cottage with pizza oven, fireplace, goat track behind the house and cherry trees covered with fruit, being central to the best tourist attractions: Lucca, Pisa, Florence and Venice. Wonderful experience!

  • 4 of 5

Great house and value for money with spectacular views. Very clean and well equipped with utensils and clean linens!!! Perfect outdoor facilities and eating area well shaded. Owner and agent always available to answer questions.

Located on a mountain and lots of steep slopes to climb so you need to be capable to climb to access house. Perfect for adults that want a private getaway. Jacuzzi located at top of house so need to climb. This was fine for us. Would have liked a small swimming pool, but not a big deal. Would have liked more sun lounge chairs (only one provided) as there were 3 of us staying.

Would definitely recommend this place. It is located 15 mins from a lovely village with great great restaurants and coffee shops. Not touristy at all which made it very relaxing. Don't need to drive or walk far before you can get a bite to eat or beverage.

Relaxing Mountain Retreat

  • 5 of 5

This house was so much more than advertised. It is traditional Tuscan and has been lovingly restored by the current owners. They have managed to keep many of the original features whist making it very comfortable for modern living. This house has a lovely ambience and we relaxed as soon as we set foot in it. It is set in a scenic and peaceful mountain location amongst an abundance of wildlife. The place really feels like home rather than a commercial property. All of the furniture, linens and equipment are of very good quality and the place is immaculately clean. The service and attention provided by both the owners and Anna (the English speaking local rep) was extremely efficient. We also found the abundance of tourist information at the house very useful especially the hints and tips sections. Thanks to the owners for recommending the Del Sonno restaurant in Bagni di Lucca, they made us feel very welcome and we had a lovely meal. Back at the house, we really enjoyed the various terraces to relax and dine on. What a treat it was to come home after a day sightseeing and be able to relax with a glass of wine in the bubbling hot tub with its fantastic views over the mountains. Thank you for making our stay feel very special, we have a wonderful time and have lasting memories. We would definitely recommend Casa Bogani.

The villa was kitted out as said and was all clean and new. The property is in a great location for exploring Tuscany, nothing is to far away. The local village is friendly and the only restaurant should not be missed, unfortunately ours was cut short by the arrival of our taxi, Don't be in a hurry. I would happily book this house again. The owners have created a lovely villa.
