We are just home from a fabulous few days in Elie having had a lovely time. The house was very beautiful and in a fantastic location and met all our expectations from the description on the website.

You asked for feedback on the house as you had not rented it out before. All I can say was it was fantastic, extremely well equipped, good quality bed linen and towels etc. Lovely art on the walls. A real home. There were eight of us, two families, and our oldest daughter got the bus from Glasgow for one night to make it nine, and my parents also visited for coffee. It’s a very sociable house.

We would definitely rent it again - The Lane Family 'Oct 13.

A fantastic quirky property virtually on the beach in Elie, Fife. Jamie Robertson was attentive and helpful to any needs we had. This was a family holiday for eleven - grandparents celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary, two daughters and sons-in-law, five grandchildren ranging in ages from 17 - 10 and two dogs! The fact that the beach was on the doorstep was great for the children and dogs and for early morning runs! This is an area we know well as we have had a timeshare within two miles of Elie for 20 years, and West House has always attracted our attention when in Elie. The interior of the house is amazing and a house where all the generations could have their own bolthole. The large kitchen/dining area was the focal point of the house with the kitchen superbly equipped with every need, including large range stove and two dishwashers! On the same ground floor was a wetroom area for coats and shoes and a downstairs toilet. Also a very comfortable snug which the children took over. There were outdoor chairs, tennis raquets, and even golf clubs available for our use. Up the stone staircase on the first floor were a master bedroom with glorious views of the bay, an enormous bathroom with freestanding bath and separate shower. A very relaxing snug/library also had views of the bay as did the very large first floor lounge with plenty of seating. A telescope pointing out into the bay was a great favourite. There wa also a back of house facing double bedroom with en-suite bathroom. Up on to yet another floor was a sea facing bedroom with fourposter bed and en-suite, twin bedroom, and a four bedded bunk room immediately taken by the four boys. Another double room was also on this floor. Outside was a large enclosed mediterranean style garden with garden furniture, a BBQ and fire pit over which we toasted marshmallows. The house was designed and equipped for every comfort and a joy to stay in. The only down side was that it would not be suitable for anyone with walking or climbing problems as the stairs were very steep. Everyone in our party thought this was one of the best properties they had been in and can't wait for a return visit.

From the Owner

West House has been the families holiday home for several years. It has been extensively used as the family love Elie in the winter when you can huddle in front of the fire and play games or during the summer when you are never not outdoors. The East Neuk of Fife with its traditional fishing villages, golf courses, wonderful beaches, fabulous food and coastal walks is a great place for adults and children to spend a holiday or long weekend. Its only an hour away from Edinburgh yet it seems a world away. And the weather seems better too!

From the Owner

West House could not be better placed for beach access and is only minutes walk from the shops and cafes in the middle of Elie. Parking is not a problem as there is parking for 4 cars at the back of the house and, in front of the house there are no restrictions. The views are breath taking as you can see over to East Lothian, with The Bass Rock often standing out like a beacon. The house is ideal either for a group of families or for a group of adults celebrating an important occasion. The large, secluded garden is a particular bonus as its beautifully designed and has two dinning areas
