About the property

Honey and Cowrie Cottages are two beautifully furnished period properties situated near Wadebridge in the stunning North Cornwall countryside. Each cottage has 2 bedrooms, sleeping 4 people and can be booked individually or together. They provide the perfect get-away for all the family and an excellent base to explore this wonderful part of Cornwall. Surrounded by lovely countryside yet near to the coast these traditional cottages are two of a group built around a stone flagged courtyard with the quiet local pub and restaurant across one end - which will even serve food direct to your door!

Return to happy holidays

  • 5 of 5

We spent many holidays at this small complex with our children in the 90's and 2000's and it is often a risk to return, but we were not disappointed. The cottage is very comfortable, clean and well equipped. It is located close to Wadebridge and all necessary amenities but set within quiet countryside with easy access to Padstow and to Polzeath and other beaches. The Quarryman pub, attached to the terraced cottages, continues to offer very good meals; it is very popular so booking is necessary but there is no disturbance to residents.

We expect to return again and would thoroughly recommend the cottage as an ideal base for holidays.

Character cottage to return to at the end of the day. Comfortable beds and sofas etc and nice to have washer/dryer. Access to pub very handy, car a bit of a walk but plenty of room. Wifi worked well and tv.

A large supermarket is within 1 mile of the cottages and the bustling market town of Wadebridge lies within 2 miles and offers great shopping, cafes, restaurants and cinema.

The cottages are within walking or cycling distance of the Camel Trail, which runs alongside the estuary to the picturesque village of Padstow. Bikes can be hired in Wadebridge. With its attractive harbour, narrow streets and world famous Rick Steins Seafood restaurant a trip to Padstow is a must! A ferry from Padstow crosses the estuary to Rock with good sailing, beaches and St Enodoc golf course.

The superb surfing beaches of Polzeath, Harlyn and Trevone are within easy access whilst the more peaceful Daymer bay can be highly recommended. Other great tourist attractions including the Eden Project, Lost Gardens of Heligan and the National Trust properties of Lanhydrock and Trerice are all approximately 30 minutes drive.

By Car – Leave the M5 motorway at junction 31 Exeter and take the A30. Leave the A30 at Bodmin to take the A389 to Wadebridge. At roundabout take the A39 signposted Truro & Newquay. After about 2 miles turn right to Edmonton/Quarryman Inn. Turn immediate right before the Quarryman Inn to access the separate cottage car park. Honey and Cowrie Cottage entrances are through the courtyard.

By train – Bodmin Parkway station is situated approximately 20 minutes drive away.

By plane – Newquay Airport in situated approximately 20 minutes drive away.
