About the property

House in Mevagissey, Cornwall, England - Quiet Location, 3 Minutes Walk From The Village Centre And Harbour Front. Parking for 2 cars. Wi-fi.

With panoramic views over the hills and village, Penmeva house enjoys a quiet cul-de-sac location above the bustle of Mevagissey, Cornwall. The valley provides a stunning setting for your stay, to be enjoyed from the large balcony, spacious sunny deck and meandering terraced garden. On cooler evenings, you can admire the view and the bird life from the bay window in the comfortable family living room. Mevagissey is still a working fishing harbour and has grown into a busy village with many cafes, inns, shops and restaurants, whilst retaining its character. It is a three-minute walk from the house down the hill to the harbour where you can enjoy an ice cream or coffee, explore the historic alleys or try your luck with the crab lines on the harbour wall. Penmeva is a comfortable, well equipped and attractive house, with proximity to the village and private parking for two vehicles making this an ideal base for families and groups.

Ideal for our needs

  • 4 of 5

As long as you are able to walk up and down a hill this property is in a great location and is very comfortable. It is a little difficult to drive to - a very tight corner and narrow streets in the village or a long drive down very narrow roads the back way. It was clean and spacious and very well equipped with a lovely deck area overlooking the village. The only negative was the bunk beds were very uncomfortable for the adults that had to use them.

Great house in a lovely part of cornwall

  • 5 of 5

Great holiday staying in this property. It has everything you need for a comfortable stay, Great views and great location. Only thing missing was a wardrobe in the upstairs bedroom. Also the temperature of the showers were very unpredictable and quite dangerous for children. Would definitely stay in this property again and would recommend to others

Lovely property overlooking Mevagissey

  • 5 of 5

Plenty of room and lots of outdoor space, everything clean and comfortable. The hill to the town's not so bad either! Sun deck and balcony lovely for sitting out in the evenings.

Wonderful place!

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay in Mevagissy. I booked it without knowing much about the area and am so glad I did! The house is really well equipped, clean, comfortable and close to the village. The owners provided helpful instructions and a welcome gift which was appreciated. Would highly recommend this place to stay for an enjoyable holiday on Cornwall. The walk to the village is down a steep hill which means a steep walk back up but we enjoyed the challenge. The village has a great selection of places to eat and the kitchen is well equipped if self catering. Thank you for letting us stay on your lovely house!

Lovely, well equipped house near village centre

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our holiday in this lovely, spacious house in Mevagissey. There was plenty of room for both families (7 of us but beds for 8) with two good sized double bedrooms, a twin bed and a bunk bedroom and two bathrooms. The sitting room had two sofas and handy floor cushions. There is a large dining table in the good sized kitchen diner. Along the back of the house is a glass fronted balcony from which there are great views of the village. We found the house to be very well equipped and all our needs catered for. There is a large window seat in the sitting room, perfect for jigsaws! The wifi is good so the children were delighted. The house is in a peaceful area, but is only a short walk downhill to the centre of the village and harbour where there are interesting, and useful, shops and some good restaurants. Alex helpfully sent us a useful information pack before we travelled. The welcome gifts of wine and biscuits were much appreciated and we all had a great holiday, thank you.

A truly lovely comfortable find

  • 5 of 5

This was our second visit and I have to say the recent changes have enhanced what was already a lovely compact but spacious home-from-home. All comforts are provided for and it will suffice to say that we could quite happily live here! The house is centrally-located - a short stroll from the harbourside, although a somewhat strenuous hike back, due to the steep incline that is Tregony Hill! Bracing and uplifting, especially on a bright, cool autumn morning!
