Pollywiggle Cottage is a 4 Star Quality Assured holiday home, which dates back to the 1700s. There are two bathrooms, one upstairs, one downstairs. Each has a shower over the bath, wc & wash basin. There is a third wc in an upstairs small washroom. This home includes all bedding, linen and towels, all modern appliances, a multi-fuel wood burner and full oil-fired central heating. Absolutely delightful!

  • 5 of 5

The cottage is chocolate box perfect and the garden is secluded and beautiful. North Norfolk is crammed full of stately homes and miles and miles of beaches. We went crabbing at Wells and Blakeney which kids just love (3, 5, 7 and 9 year olds but the adults loved it too). The Dinosaur Adventure Park needs more than the 3 hours we spent there. I would recommend all day and take a picnic.

The cottage is looked after by Marilyn who is very helpful and we found everything was immaculately clean and tidy but also very comfortable and the kids were able to play in the cottage and the garden freely. The garden is full of secret paths and corners to play.

Not for anyone over 6 foot - you'll end up with concussion!

We had an evening meal at the Fox and Hounds at Messingham which is run by identical twins. Great atmosphere and good honest gastro pub food.

  • Notes on accommodation: This old cottage dating back to 1700s has many original features including fairly steep narrow stairs, small steps or thresholds throughout, low ceilings and doorways. The bedrooms are in the loft space and so the ceilings are often sloping. There is a bathroom with WC downstairs and another with WC upstairs plus a small wash room and WC also upstairs. Outside: Mature flower gardens with lawns lie to the front and rear. There is a small, shallow pond in the rear garden and so toddlers should always be supervised. The garden has tables, chairs, a portable barbecue, two bicycle shelters for 8 bikes and a fitting for the whirligig clothes drier. Utility Room: The pantry houses a fridge freezer. The boot room houses the tumble drier, whirligig and folding clothes driers as well as coat pegs, re-chargeable lantern, torch and portable BBQ. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels, linen and tea towels are provided and changed each week. The property is thoroughly cleaned before guests arrive. Other: The dining room has the original quarry tiled floor and seats 8 around a table with one highchair
