This comfortable recently renovated 18th Century cottage with a view of St Benoit du Sault is set in an acre of lush garden is the perfect place for families and friends to relax and unwind. With a wood burning stove the gite has a cosy feel and caters well for up to 6. Private pool and parking right by the house. The village is within walking distance for evening out in restaurants or cafes and there are plenty of things to see and do in the surrounding area from water sports, horse riding, fishing, bird watching, walking and cycling.

About Anna Deregowska

We are Anna Deregowska and Kenneth Le Riche, currently living in Edinburgh with our young family. We feel really lucky to have found such a lovely charming cottage in such a pretty town. We have a very reliable and efficient couple of people who live near to the village of St Benoit du Sault who kindly meet and greet all guests. They have been great at keeping the cottage clean, fresh and ready for the everyone arriving and meeting any needs people have. The pool and garden are also maintained beautifully by local people. From August 2014 we will be living on the site of the property in a separate dwelling. Guests will have their own private driveway, access to the pool and garden and garden furniture for eating outdoors.

Why Anna Deregowska chose Indre

We thought this was a fantastic buy as we're able to enjoy the tranquility and peacefulness of a rural 18th Century cottage, whilst also within a short walk have easy access to all useful shops and amenities. The village is very pretty and has a vibrant feel for such a relatively small town. We're also really excited about having the national park so close by with the 1000 lakes and all the walking and water-sports that go with it.

What makes this cottage unique

Fantastic spot - beautifully secluded and quiet, yet with the village only a few minutes away and just 10 minutes off the A20 motorway.

Wonderful place to stay in St Benoit Du Sault

We stayed here for our first holiday in France, and it was a fantastic Gite to stay in, The Gite itself is spacious inside, the open plan living area downstairs in charming and all bedrooms are a good size.

Outside the pool is great, and the gardens are huge!

The village itself its a lovely place, very very peaceful and relaxing.

We would definitely stay here again!

Lovely peaceful little gite with huge garden

We stayed here for a short mini-honeymoon this summer and it was perfect. St.Benoit is a very sleepy little village, very pretty although it may be limited on options if you have children with you.

For us it was great, lots of long evenings by the pool or in the huge garden, a short walk into the village for dinner and generally complete peace and relaxation. It's well-located for day trips (We headed up to the Loire Chateux, and to La Roche Posay for a spa day) and has everything needed, there's also a good supermarket in the village to stock up from, as well as boulangerie, boucherie etc nearby.

Another review mentioned that the upstairs layout is a little unusual (essentially, there is a large roof beam dividing the three bedrooms which has a couple of little stairs on each side, it was no problem for us but might be worth considering if you have mobility problems at all) but we found it fine.

Perfect for a couple's quiet getaway and excellent value for money.

Enjoyable Visit

Just returned from a stay at this cosy cottage which was very enjoyable. It was a perfect location with a 10 min walk to medieval village but with great supermarket, fresh bakeries and vet etc and was within a short drive of a national park and Limoges which we explored. Cottage was comfortable and well stocked with essentials including a lovely wood burning stove. A slightly odd layout upstairs but worked perfectly for our family 2 adults, 2 children and dog. Even when it was raining the children still wanted to run around the large garden and play cricket. The best thing for me was the location of an art studio next door. Myself and my children booked ourselves in for art lessons. Both teachers (Anna for the children) and Richie (for me) were absolutely superb. These are not only skilled professional artists but are also superb at sharing their knowledge and passion for art- a combination that is rare to find....
