We stayed in Cym Gain
The lodge was probably the nicest lodge that we have stayed in. The downsize to this was that we took our well behaved dog and it really wasnt pet friendly - beige carpets. Luckily the weather was good but if it had been wet it would have been very impractical.
We enjoyed Porth Gain and The Sloop. Not sure whether we would visit again due to the restrictions with the dog.
We actually stayed in heulwyn and not bryn Bach. It was first class, spotless, everything catered for, beautiful views, good quality bedding, furnishings and utilities. Definitely recommend it for a 'getaway from it all' holiday.
Lodge in Pembrokeshire
Having visited the area many times before, this was a great new place for us to stay. Hidden from the road it was a lovely surprise to discover these lodges set well apart for privacy but near enough to be friendly.
Although you need a car to visit nearby places like Solva or St. David's, the pub in Porthgain for relaxing drinks or a meal is a short walk away across the field. There are also good walks nearby along the Pembrokeshire coast.
The lodge itself is comfortable and warm with open plan living. 2 double bedrooms are a bonus with 2 couples staying, there is also a single room for a child or extra adult. Facilities also include; washing machine and drier, dishwasher, SKY TV, 2 toilets and shower. The only slight negative is having to take all your own towels.
Outside a raised wooden veranda is great for breakfast or evening drinks in the sun!
A dog friendly place to stay that was both relaxing and a good base for new visitors to the area.
Perfect get-away-from it all place
A beautifully furnished log cabin,
immaculately clean and modern.
We actually stayed in 'Cwmgain'
which is slightly bigger than ' Bryn
Bach' but on the same lovely, peaceful
Site. All the mod cons, we especially
enjoyed the dishwasher being a
family of five.
We loved walking across
the field to the sloop inn on Fri night,(
lovely food and service). Only a five mins walk which meant
that even our youngest 5 yr old enjoyed
it! Highly recommend you take advantage
of the boat trips from st. David's. We
did the Ramsey Island voyage which was
both thrill- seeking and informative!
A good balance for us and our three
Daughters: 10;8 and 5!
Also, a The shed bistro in Porthgain
is well worth a visit- tasty fish and
Chips and lovely service.
All in all a fab weekend away and plan to
Ps - also loved lack of wifi and limited
Mobile phone signal- a real escape
