Our apartment offers an exceptionally comfortable sleeping and living space for 6 people. There are 3 bedrooms sleeping 2 people per room: one kingsize bed, one double bed and one set of bunk beds, living room with dining area, kitchen and bathroom. The property has recently been refurbished and has been furnished to a superior standard, the décor an excellent mix of original features and contemporary furnishings. The apartment is fully equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay.

Fantastic weekend

Had a last minute stay at this apartment and couldn't have asked for more. Graham the owner was in contact throughout ensuring we were happy. The apartment was very central, clean and relaxing just sitting looking out the window watching the world go by. Bed so comfy with Whitby being one of my all time favourite places will definitely re-book and recommend ! Thanks

Wonderful accommodation, great location immaculate

This apartment had everything you needed, was spotless and modern. Spacious and well maintained, Graham the owner and Caroline the caretaker couldn't have been more helpful. Great central location, fish & chip shop behind property in silver st cheapest and best in Whitby. Granby pub over road had entertainment most nights and supermarket, bakery stones throw away. Would highly recommend, couldn't fault it! Am rebooking.

Home away from home

We were very impressed with the apartment. Five of us stayed for a week. There was plenty of room for us all. Loads of storage space. The kitchen had everything you need. There are books, toys and games in the apartment. The beds were lovely and comfy. Lots of fluffy towels. The location is ideal, just two minutes walk to the harbour. There is lots to do and see in Whitby, the Captain Cooke museum, walk the 199 steps up to the Abbey, take a boat ride out to sea, crabbing by the harbour. There are lots of places to eat and drink (Duke of York, The Dolphin ) to name but a few. The best chippy we found was in Silver Street which is just behind the apartment. Also in Silver Street is a Tea Room called Rusty Shears. Its a cracking little place. Their gypsy toast is to die for. If you are thinking of going to Whitby then this apartment is the perfect place to stay. You will not be disappointed.

Fantastic flat, windows a worry for young family

We arrived to find the apartment clean, tidy, and spacious. We were two adults and two children (aged 5 and 3). It was in keeping with the advertised photos and description.

The heating had been left on full (probably because the weather forecast was rotten) but it was a lovely warm evening as is the unpredictable British weather. We wanted all the windows and this was a bit tricky with two young children as some were only knee height. There was a catch on the window in the kids room. We did think if we came in warmer weather, we wouldn't be happy to have the windows open without worrying for kids safety. Just a consideration if you do have young children. One window in the king size room didn't have a catch. There were also long ties on the roman blinds in the living room and bedrooms, I stress not in the kids room, this was safety blind. I was able to tie the longer ones out of the way though.

We had a great stay, the two flights of stairs weren't a problem. Parking is always tricky in Whitby so the permits did make life easier, and we were grateful for them.

My daughter has coeliac disease so we ate in most the time and found the kitchen to be well stocked with utensils and we didn't struggle for work surface space - being able to have a specified gluten and gluten free areas for preparation.

The in-house entertainment of the Wii and DVD player were great for when the weather was really wet, and the small stock of toys was also appreciated and a nice touch. The shower in the bathroom is amazingly powerful, and a joy to use.

The location of the apartment is perfect for exploring Whitby and nowhere is too far for little legs, from the beach, to the amusements and across to the old town were all manageable distances for the youngest in our party and popping back to the apartment for meals not a chore.

Whitby has 3 supermarkets, a big Sainsbury's, Lidl and Co-operative, and this meant we could buy all our requirements for our daughters diet - not having to squash stuff into the car before we left.

The apartment is on a street with a bakery, off licence (stocking milk and cheese and a small range of groceries) a boots chemist, all extremely handy.

The windows may deter me from booking again (but not if my children were older), but other than that I can't fault the apartment , location, and the friendliness of the hosts. For an older family a perfect flat for a great holiday.

Nostalgic weekend in Whitby

My 3 sisters and Mother stayed at the cottage for a long weekend to celebrate her 85th birthday. There are a lot of stairs to the apartment (which the owners advised us about) but they are worth it. The apartment is very nice, bright and clean (perhaps a little basic in terms of kitchen equipment if you are cooking in most of the time), the location is great for getting all round Whitby. Parking is difficult due to the parking restrictions (and complicated - who can park where), the owners provide parking permit tickets (thanks for the extra one). Caroline, the housekeeper was very helpful and brought us round extra glasses and towels when we didn't have enough. We thoroughly enjoyed our first stay in Whitby for 30 years.

Beautiful flat in central Whitby

We stayed here this month with three generations of the family and had a wonderful time. The flat is bang in the centre of Whitby, close to the shops and sea-front with parking available a short walk away.

The flat itself was clean and clearly well cared for: beds were comfortable and the shower was great. It was also well stocked with everything we needed for the week, which saved us lugging everything with us - including a cot and highchair! We even found a couple of toys left for my son to play with, which was a nice touch.

I had several emails from Graham the owner - he was always pleasant, prompt and helpful in his replies. I definitely got the impression that he wanted us to have a nice stay in his flat.

In short we will be returning as soon as possible, and would (have already!) recommend this to family and friends.

  • Notes on accommodation: Apartment 2 is a large, spacious and very comfortable, town centre property offering a superb base for a stay in Whitby. Great attention has been paid to the living, dining and sleeping areas to ensure you will always be comfortable and guaranteed a good nights sleep while gas central heating ensures you will never be cold. Unlike many properties in Whitby, apartment 2 is all on 1 single level. Being situated on the towns Skinner street ensures that area is very quiet but only a stones throw from the heart of the town. The harbour and main town centre streets with many various attractions are all within a 5 minute walk from the apartment. There is on-street parking for up to 40 minutes directly in front of the property and ample unlimited free on-street parking is just 300 yards away. Outside: Entrance to the property is to the rear of the building through a communal stairwell. The entrance to the stairwell is in the garden to the rear and is accessible through the garden gate which opens onto Clarkson street which runs off Skinner street to the side of the building. The garden is a small terrace with some pot plants and has enough space to have a barbecue. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: All towels and linen are included. All bedding is luxury Egyptian cotton. Property is cleaned before each stay.
