Penthouse Apartment in Parque Santiago 2, Playa de Las Americas.

Like many other owners I pay £480 a year to OD for this website listing and we do not see why they should be allowed to fleece our guests by charging around 10% extra fees for those who book through them instead of the owner. Located in the best part of Las Americas, surrounded by dozens of great value cafes, bars and restaurants. Supermarket onsite. The complex is located right on the seafront. The well known exclusive Safari Centre with its dancing illuminated fountains is only a 10 minute stroll away; here you can treat yourself in any of the numerous designer shops or just relax with meal or drink in one of the many restaurants and bars. Take an easy flat short stroll to the east along the seafront promenade to the neighbouring resort of Los Christianos passing a lovely sandy beach en route or to the west passing further beaches and restaurants to the beautiful marina at Puerto Colon. Direct access from the complex onto the seafront is via secured gates.

I have been visiting this part of Tenerife for over 35 years and decided on Parque Santiago 2 as being the best complex in the area for location - right next to the sea and surrounded by dozens of cafes and bars.

Why Keith chose Playa de la Américas

Read all the excellent 5* reviews, and ignore the one that applies to someone else's apartment, posted in error by an anonymous guest. This is a large but very quiet, family-type complex, not suitable for clubbers. It is surrounded by dozens of the best cafes, bars and restaurants in the area, with prices to suit all tastes.

One Euro lasts a long time. Luxury fitted kitchen (see above). Cots available on request: £25 per week. Recommended for those seeking a central location with everything to hand. The complex itself is quiet and family orientated and therefore, due to the rules of the complex, I am sorry we do not accept bookings from young groups or clubbers. Outside: Large swimming pool (heated in winter) and gardens Washing machine & Separate dryer. Supplied with clean bath towels and hand towels 2 bathrooms - one on each floor Each bathroom has a shower. One also has a bath. There is a safe in the apartment. Late checkout fee up to 10pm (when available) £50. This can only be booked 7 days before departure if available at that time.

Fantastic Property

This apartment was home from home for us. It was spotlessly clean inside and out as were the bedding and towels that were left for us.The apartment contained several hair dryers and irons which was a nice touch. The air con was cheap to run. The apartment itself was spacious and the fact that you can see and hear the sea from the master bedroom was the icing on the cake for us. The complex that it is on is also clean and the pool area not too busy which was great. I would not hesitate to recommend the apartment and we will be coming back again. One of the best self catering places we have stayed in without a doubt.

Wonderful Apartment!

We had a fantastic time staying in this apartment. There is everything you could ask/wish for from a holiday let (& more). You can tell that the owner has a lot of pride in his property. It is very spacious including a balcony which runs right across the width of the apartment and has a great big table/chairs as well as loungers. I could stare at the amazing view all day too! it was a lovely touch having a washing machine as it meant we came home with some clean washing and were also able to reduce the amount of luggage we needed to take as we were able to do some washing whilst we were there. The Parque Santiago complex is lovely and we used the pool nearly every day (it's saltwater and has done wonders for my skin!). There are a number of great restaurants, bars shops and the beach just a stones throw away so it's brilliantly situated. All in all a fantastic place to stay!

Spacious apartment with stunning views - however....

Apartment spacious but starting to look tired picture's clearly taken many years ago it is a shame as the apartment has so much going for it and could be stunning.

Views from the balcony absolutely breathtaking but if you plan to sunbathe on it you will be disappointed as it gets no sun anytime of the day. However lovely pool area with plenty of beds, there is a 4 euro charge for bed and mattress extra for a brolly not everyone wanted to pay so plenty beds available cost could work out expensive dependent on party size we were a family of 4.

Pool bar was excellent could not fault it on food quality and price.

Reception area very dated and the linked shopping area at pool level most shops

closed or the open ones looking run down overall that area needs gutting.

Back to the apartment....

We reported the washing machine second day we were there as it was not working and promised it would be repaired however the repair person did not turn up till the day before we were leaving so too late for us.

The cushions on the couch were badly soiled and the downstairs bedroom chair cushion badly soiled, as was the bed frame .

The biggest No No and a basic was no pillow case protectors , revealing very old very soiled pillows on all beds and the double bed had no mattress cover protector.

Like the latest review all bedding needs renewing.

In the cuboard there was blankets which you would not put on your bed also God forbid you needed a duvet as they were again very very soiled and old .

We still had a good holiday but won't return to this apartment.

Owner's Response: This very strange review clearly has been posted onto this listing in error. I have asked Owners Direct to remove it. Perhaps it relates to a different apartment. The photos are new in 2016, part of the balcony gets sun for most of the day. Freshly laundered and immaculate sheets, blankets and pillow covers are supplied every week, and there has never been an issue with the washing machine. Please read all the other excellent (5*) reviews.

Nice apartment with fantastic views

Great location and apartment is spacious, with all the condiments you require. The spiral staircase would be difficult if you were not mobile we were conscious of the kids going up and down.

For us the fact the sun was not on the balcony all day was great, we could have lunch there without blistering. The bedding and pillows not brilliant and need replacing but the safe was a bonus to keep valuables secure

Outside the apartment there were lots of bars and restaurants, only turned left into Las Americas once, Los Cristianias is much cleaner with fab places to eat and a great shopping complex with nice restaurants

The communal parts of the complex itself was beginning to look a bit tired with the ground floor looking quite unloved, shops have closed and moved on to the newer complexes being built.

The saltwater pool was ok and clean, the kids wore goggles as their eyes became a bit nippy and I was happy to pay 4 euros a day for a bed and mattress, you could always get a bed because people are not going to grab all the beds at 4 euros each.

Overall I would recommend it for a family stay, the aircon is coin operated and works great...there is a good supermarket attached to the complex and a great restaurant on the right as you go out the entrance fab cheap breakfasts there

Great Penthouse Apartment in a convenient location

Stayed for one week in this lovely penthouse apartment. Spotlessly clean and a nice big balcony with magnificent sea views. Apartment was equipped with everything needed for a self-catering stay. Full sized oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine. There is a large flat screen television with lots of English channels, including BBC and ITV. Plenty cutlery, plates, cups and glasses. Another plus point was that one cupboard contained basic essentials such as salt and pepper, olive oil, tea, coffee etc. Location was great with lots of restaurants, bars etc. within a 5 minute stroll and the same distance to the promenade and beach. Pool area was well maintained with a little pool bar selling snacks and meals from 9am to 6pm each day and a Happy Hour starting at 4pm when a pint of lager cost 1.50 Euros and cocktails started at 3 Euros! On the down side, there is a charge for sun loungers, mattresses and shades at the pool and, as there is no sun on the balcony of the apartment during the day, this is an extra cost on the over all price of the holiday. The spiral staircase to the two upstairs bedroom is fine for adults but a bit dangerous for younger children and awkward to carry cases up. All things considered, would recommend this apartment as a great base for a relaxing holiday in sunny Tenerife.

Fabulous Holiday

Fantastic apartment, great views and modern interior. We had a wonderful stay here, the facilities onsite and within the apartment are great with everything you need for a comfortable stay. In fact, the apartment is so comfortable, 5 star - you could live here. Wifi available in the apartment too as well as the communal areas, cheap bars and good restaurants nearby, beach less than a five minute stroll away. Good communication with the owner and English management contact throughout should you need it. 100% recommend booking this apartment, we will be coming back soon!

The complex is centrally located near to just about everything you need - right on the seafront, close to several beaches, all types of restaurants and bars to suit every taste, supermarket in the complex, bus stops, taxi stops, banks, money exchanges, shops - from cheap and cheerful to classy designer outlets.


20 minutes drive to airport - about 25 Euros taxi or return shuttle transfer €84 for 6 people.
