Guestbook comments from the owner

This holiday has been fantastic, so much so, even the dogs didn't want to go home (which is a first). There has been so much to do and see, to keep us entertained, with a superb house to come home to at the end of the day.

Thank you so much.

(John & Dianne, Gimli & Joxer - dogs - Fishburn, Durham).

Had a wonderful week, lovely weather. Love your cottage, especially the conservatory and the PUFFINS. Thanks for making staying in a holiday cottage easy, just like home.

(John & Maggie - N Yorks).

Thank you, had a lovely week. Northumberland people are so friendly and the conservatory and garden are to die for. You are so lucky.... Hope to come again.

(Jen, Don & Jean - Darlington, Co Durham).

Excellent cottage with a beautiful garden, very cosy, well equipped, couldn't ask for anything else. Love the position near the beach and sea. We really enjoyed our week at Lennor cottage, especially the log burner, a really enjoyable holiday. Would like to come back next year. Thank you very m

A lovely house in a lovely location

  • 4 of 5

The house had plenty of space and a nice cosy sitting room, perfect for winter nights in front of the log burner. Everything we needed was provided and we were impressed with the smart tv so we could watch Netflix! Close to all of the amenities in Seahouses and less than a ten minute walk to the harbour or the lovely stretch of beach that runs along to Bamburgh.

Adequate

  • 3 of 5

Feel that heating should be left on during winter months. Coming back into the cottage after walks felt cold and to gain extra heating for an hour was ridiculous as you had to keep getting up and down to press the button. Logs left were not really logs but offcuts which burnt through so quickly - all logs were used on the first night as OFCH was inadequate. And no hairdryer! First cottage we've been to in Seahouses without a hairdryer and we've stayed in 5!! Also looked as if whole cottage had not been thoroughly cleaned.

Owner's Response: We feel that this review is not a fair reflection of our cottage, which is confirmed by previous excellent reviews. It is not practical to leave the heating on constantly during the winter months. Our heating is timed for two hours in the morning & two hours in the evening. The heating & water can also be switched on for one hour at a time as required. We no longer provide a hairdryer as several have been taken by previous guests! Our property details clearly state that a hairdryer is not provided and this comment was inappropriate. Additional wood / logs / sticks are provided for the convenience of guests at a reasonable cost. Logs can sometimes be too damp to burn & we provide suitable dry logs / wood depending on what is currently available. The guests have not used the wood stove air vents correctly if the logs burnt so quickly & so much wood was used on the first night. We clean our cottage thoroughly ourselves and our standards of cleanliness are very high, as confirmed by previous reviews and guest book comments. The general comment regarding our cottage not being 'thoroughly' cleaned did not specify any areas where cleaning was not carried out and is inaccurate.

Lennor Cottage perfect for chidren and pets with separate rooms to aid relaxation.

  • 5 of 5

This cottage is ideally located on the outskirts of the town centre which is ten minute easy walk to shops, pub, and beach. You could have a car free holiday enjoying leisurely walks to Beadnell or Bamburgh, Seahouses is a very pleasant place to stay with a choice of eateries and shops.

Lennor Cottage is a comfotable home from home with all you may need from cots baby gates fire guards clothes airers etc. We found it to be clean on arrival with nice fresh bedding. Loved having separate social areas 3 includung conservatory. The layout makes dog holidays less stressful having hard floor areas to change boots, paws and outdoor clothing. It was easily kept clean without our stay being about housework. Unfortunately, it was mild for the time of year (end of October) so we didn't feel the need to use either of the lovely woodburning stoves.

However, the weather made our boat trip to the Farne Islands much more pleasurable. We packed in so much Lindasfarne, Berwick, other car journeys to the Border going through Coldstream stopping at Kelso onto Galashiels though to Melrose stopping at Jedburgh attempting a whistle stop tour of the Cheviot Hills. Our last day included our daily coastal morning walk before visiting Alnwick where many shops allowed our dogs in and had bowls of water in the doorways. Everywhere we went was either or hosted something spectacular whether it be a landscape or architecture, why have we never been here before!!!

My husband and my sister both made use of the comfotrable cozy lounge. I spent every evening glued to the gliding rocker in the kitchen, moving occassionally when my dogs asked to be let out. The garden is great for pets and children, it is well kept and secure. We have had a wonderful holiday enhanced by all the creature comforts of Lennor Cottage.

Great comfortable warm cottage. we have been returning to Lennor cottage for the past 3 years .

  • 5 of 5

Fantastic garden, great if you have a dog as fully enclosed. Only a short walk to the beach across the golf course. Suited our needs as it is is unusual to have two separate living area both with a TV especially useful if you have children. The cottage is also always clean and comfortable.

Excellent holiday base and vaue for money

  • 5 of 5

Home from a week at the cottage, very clean and well equipped, central base for visits up and down the coast. Was a wet and windy week in parts (its February!) beach was 2 mins walk across the road, great for the dog and well stocked supermarket 2 mins walk along road into town . Cottage was warm and welcoming , with added bonus of log burner in the evening which was pure indulgence as its wasn't cold in the cottage at all. We had a very pleasant and comfortable winter break and wouldn't hesitate to recommend to our family and we plan to return.
