This superbly finished penthouse apartment, on the pretty resort of Mojon Hills, has astounding sea views, and has been tastefully and luxuriously furnished to make your holiday in Isla Plana just a little bit special! The apartment is on the upper level, accessed by a wide central walkway and stairs, and has unbroken views over the Mediterranean and the Bay of Mazarrón. The apartment is fitted with reja security grills on each window, for peace of mind, and are all easily opened by key. The apartment has a large terrace with unbroken sea views from La Azohía to the Bay of Mazarrón and marina. The elevated position means that the sun is on the terraces all day at the front of the property, although those seeking shade can sit in the rear garden, under the covered wooden pergola. The large communal pool (re-tiled and re-grouted spring 2016) and grass recreation area is just a short walk away and is overlooked by the terrace. In addition the apartment has an allocated parking space in the underground car park.

About the Owner

We are an English family living and working near London, UK and have two teenage sons. Vistas Palmeras de Mojon (Palm Views of Mojon) is our beautiful brand new penthouse apartment, named after the stunning east to west sea views of Mazarrón Bay from the large south facing terrace and 4 palm trees planted in the rear garden, one for each of us in the family. Until the boys are older we are limited to the time we can spend living in Spain so rather than leave it locked up we have decided to share its enjoyment with you, our guests.

Stunning!

Had the most amazing holiday here. The apartment is beautiful, well equipped and very well thought out. The views from the balcony are simply the best we've ever had on holiday, and are just stunning. 10-15 minute stroll to the centre of Isla Plana & a cerveza or two at the Social Club. The onsite rep was amazing & couldn't do enough for us. Thank you we will be back!

We followed you in for our own 2 weeks holiday and had a great time. I didn't realise the village has such a great August fiesta with music and dance at the local club every evening. Our boys also spent time on the sea inflatables along the coastline, a couple of trips to port and go-karting and a few card games on the terrace until the early hours. Bliss. Very clean, fully equipped apartment ideally situated

We have now visited this apartment twice over the past two years and have always had a very warm and welcomed stay. The apartment is modern and well maintained which provides stunning views across the whole Costa Calida. Local amminities and beaches are only a 10 minute walk away and communal pool is in great condition with access to a table tennis table. The apartment has free wifi, Bluetooth stereo and all English TV channels.

Within the village there are some good restuarants and social club/bar open till late all with a good atmosphere. The main town, Puerto de Mazarron, is a 10min drive or taxi and provides many more bars, restaurants and shops. The city of Cartagena is also a must see.

Best view in Spain.........

Having spent sixteen nights at this wonderful apartment, my husband and I have decided it is one of the nicest we have ever staying in and we are very well travelled, visiting Spain on a regular basis. The property was spotlessly clean and well maintained, comfy beds, very practical layout as in, during the winter months once inside on an evening we could still see the sea from the sofa which we thought was very well thought out! The manager provided excellent customer service and sorted out a small problem with the internet immediately, nothing was too much trouble for her. The local supermarket was within walking distance for a few basic items but we drove to Mercadonna which took about ten minutes to get our main shopping which is very good for people with Coeliac and other dietary needs. There are a few little cafes around and lovely cafe right on the front where we enjoyed a drink after a gentle stroll along the seashore which was just beautiful. We loved it so much we have booked to go back again later in the year. The only downside was the 86 steps to the apartment which could be a problem for some people when carrying shopping and water but we managed it and I have just had two new knees!

The steps concern some but good exercise for others and taking the garage route, although a slightly longer way round, takes half the climb away. A lovely apartment in Isla Plana

A lovely apartment in Isla Plana that is ideally situated for discovering the delights of this beautiful area of Murcia. This was the first visit to this region for my wife and I, we decided to book for 2 weeks so that we could hire a car and visit various places along this coast.

The apartment is situated in the Mojon hills behind Isla Plana and is about a 15 minute walk to the small town centre and beach. If you are not up to the walk back up the hill and the many steps then this place is not for you. But the raised aspect of the apartments gives a magnificent view of the Mazarron Bay and Isla Plana from the large private balcony.

The apartment is as described on the OD site with fair sized bedrooms, lounge and kitchen. There was only my wife and myself so we had plenty of room, a party of six may find things a bit cramped. The place is well equipped, the owner has thought of everything and contacted us during our stay to make sure everything was ok. The BBQ was excellent and the wifi good. The tv is able to get Brit channels though picture freezing was common.

We discovered some great beaches within a 30 minute drive of Isla Plana but one needs a car to find these. A visit to Catagena and the Las Baterias (Franco's civil war gun battery in the hills behind La Azohia) are well worth it.

There are some good local restaurants, we got the bus into Puerto Mazarron where there are a large choice of eating places in the port area. Isla Plana has a social club which is amazingly cheap serving tapas and pizzas. The Funky Jellyfish chiringuito on the isla Plana beach serves good food at night.

We did not use the pool at the apartments but for families this would be very attractive. Parking was in the underground car park below the apartments and was very convenient.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your honest review. The apartment is two bedrooms for 4 people with a sofa bed providing space for 6. Unfortunately OD does not provide a description for 4+2 but just for 6. Specifically this is helpful for those wanting to squeeze out the best value or having more than 2 children. The WiFi provider has recently (Oct) upgraded our download speed to a minimum of 4mb so will help the picture freezing on the IP streaming TV channels. Thanks for letting us know and delighted you enjoyed the area of Isla Plana.

Lovely apartment

This is a lovely apartment. The owners have made every effort to make sure it is really comfortable. The beds are great, the place was spotless, the towels fluffy...in fact it was a bit like being in a four star hotel with the convenience of an apartment. It is my opinion that it would be a little snug for 6 people as the living area isn't huge but it was absolutely great for 2 of us. Oh and the views are wonderful!!!

From the Owner

Following an extensive search for our ideal Spanish retreat we chose to purchase our apartment in Isla Plana. We immediately fell in love with the location, away from the British influenced resorts and as others will agree one of the few unspoilt coastal areas still left in Spain, with good value restaurants, tapas, bars and supermarket all within close proximity. The new marina at Puerto de Mazarrón, a short drive or taxi away, is our favourite place to visit and watch the boats go by and miles of sandy beach. The mountainous back drop of the Sierra Espuñas keeps the resort exclusive and provides trails of discovery to explore. 320 days sunshine per year and the pending construction of Paramount Theme Park and opening of a new airport 25 mins away, now you know why we couldn’t resist!

Coast/Beach:

The beaches and town of Isla Plan are (0.5km) a 10 minute short walk away and include hidden coves, small harbour, restaurants, church and community centre. More extensive beaches can be found by a short drive to Bahia, Bolnuevo or Puerto de Mazarrón. Many are blue flag beaches meeting European quality standards.

Travel:

Isla Plan is widely accessible by road network, from the mainland and a number of airports;

• Murcia San Javier (45 mins)

• Alicante (90 mins)

• Almeria (100 mins)

• Corvera (25 mins) is awaiting final permissions to open

Ryanair, Flybe, Jet2Save, Easyjet and BA all fly regular flights daily and are excellent value when booked well in advance. Whilst a car is not essential, we recommend car hire to fully enjoy the area, available for pick up at all airports.

Distances:

Isla Plan is a (0.5km) 10 min walk toward the sea and provides restaurants, pharmacy, supermarket, ATM and community centre.

The town of Puerto de Mazarrón is a short 10 min drive away and has extensive bars, restaurants, shops, retail and supermarkets.

Cartagena is a 30 min drive over the mountains and is steeped in history and architectural interest.

Murcia is the capital, including Baroque cathedral, water park and zoo. Whatever the season, there is something close by to enjoy!

We have extensively furnished and improved the apartment to provide an escape from it all, relaxing holiday. We wanted to emulate our enjoyment of quality accommodation and so have provided everything needed for your (and ours!) comfort; sumptuous mattresses, fully fitted kitchen and all your technology needs, including free WiFi. We have extended the shower unit so there is plenty of room for 2 or more! The added advantage over similar units is that we have a large rear garden with pergola covered patio, palm trees, fruit trees and grass, and table tennis table so there’s lots to do by just staying at home. Not to mention the sea and bay facing terrace overlooks the communal pool to keep an eye on the children playing.

  • Outside: There is the added benefit of the rear garden with patio and covered pergola providing valuable shade, planting, artificial grass, perimeter lighting and table tennis table (floodlight for evening games). Facing Mazarrón bay, with extensive east to west sea views is the large terrace accessed from the living room, kitchen and main bedroom. Here there is dining furniture for 6/10 people, covered awning (manually operated), lighting, sunbeds, pool/beach chairs, gas BBQ and Fire Pit/table. The terrace overlooks the communal pool and grass play area. Smoking allowed outside on terrace only. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Bed linen is provided throughout and the apartment is cleaned and changed on changeover days, additional cleans can be provided at additional cost.
