This superbly finished penthouse apartment, on the pretty resort of Mojon Hills, has astounding sea views, and has been tastefully and luxuriously furnished to make your holiday in Isla Plana just a little bit special! The apartment is on the upper level, accessed by a wide central walkway and stairs, and has unbroken views over the Mediterranean and the Bay of Mazarrón. The apartment is fitted with reja security grills on each window, for peace of mind, and are all easily opened by key. The apartment has a large terrace with unbroken sea views from La Azohía to the Bay of Mazarrón and marina. The elevated position means that the sun is on the terraces all day at the front of the property, although those seeking shade can sit in the rear garden, under the covered wooden pergola. The large communal pool (re-tiled and re-grouted spring 2016) and grass recreation area is just a short walk away and is overlooked by the terrace. In addition the apartment has an allocated parking space in the underground car park.

About Keith

We are an English family living and working near London, UK and have two teenage sons. Vistas Palmeras de Mojon (Palm Views of Mojon) is our beautiful brand new penthouse apartment, named after the stunning east to west sea views of Mazarrón Bay from the large south facing terrace and 4 palm trees planted in the rear garden, one for each of us in the family. Until the boys are older we are limited to the time we can spend living in Spain so rather than leave it locked up we have decided to share its enjoyment with you, our guests.

Why Keith chose Cartagena

Following an extensive search for our ideal Spanish retreat we chose to purchase our apartment in Isla Plana. We immediately fell in love with the location, away from the British influenced resorts and as others will agree one of the few unspoilt coastal areas still left in Spain, with very good value restaurants, tapas, bars and supermarket all within close proximity. The new marina at Puerto de Mazarrón, a short drive or taxi away, is our favourite place to visit and watch the boats go by and miles of sandy beach. For the best fresh catch of the day visit the beachfront restaurants of La Azohia a coastal walk from Isla Plana along the bay is well worth it. The mountainous back drop of the Sierra Espuñas keeps the resort exclusive and provides trails of discovery to explore. 320 days sunshine per year and opening of a new airport only 30 mins away, now you know why we couldn’t resist!

What makes this apartment unique

We have extensively furnished and improved the apartment to provide an escape from it all, relaxing holiday. We wanted to emulate our enjoyment of quality accommodation and so have provided everything needed for your (and ours!) comfort; sumptuous mattresses, fully fitted kitchen and all your technology needs, including free WiFi. We have extended the shower unit so there is plenty of room for 2 or more! The added advantage over similar units is that we have a large rear garden with pergola covered patio, palm trees, fruit trees and grass, and table tennis table so there’s lots to do by just staying at home. You will also find a larger living area than other similar properties on Mojon Hills. Not to mention the panoramic sea views and bay facing terrace, which also directly overlooks the communal pool to keep an eye on the children playing. All day and late into the night, enjoying the spectacular sea and mountain views, on the large terrace with a glass or two looking over the bay, are a favourite of our guest's reviews.

Outside: There is the added benefit of the rear garden with patio and covered pergola providing valuable shade, planting, artificial grass, perimeter lighting and table tennis table (floodlight for evening games). Facing Mazarrón bay, with extensive east to west sea views is the large terrace accessed from the living room, kitchen and main bedroom. Here there is dining furniture for 6/10 people, covered awning (manually operated), lighting, sunbeds, pool/beach chairs, gas BBQ and table. The terrace overlooks the communal pool and grass play area. Smoking allowed outside on terrace only. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Bed linen is provided throughout and the apartment is cleaned and changed on changeover days, additional cleans can be provided at additional cost. Shower and hand towels are provided for the bathroom. Beach towels are not provided. Other: Sunrise to sunset sea views from the large terrace with dining furniture for 6/10 people, chairs, footstools and sunbeds. The rear garden is laid to grass with planting and covered pergola over the patio area. A table tennis table is available.

After visiting this apartment in May, and having a lovely comfortable week, we decided to return in October for another 8 nights. We have enjoyed it even more. Total relaxation, great apartment, wonderful views, two beaches close by, everything you could need. We will be back!

Winter Holiday

We have just spent our second consecutive 10-week winter holiday at this excellent apartment and we have already booked for next year! The apartment is extremely well equipped with a large south-facing terrace giving an outstanding view of the sea. The website pictures accurately depict this apartment. Local amenities include a small supermarket, bakery, fishmongers, chemist, several smaller shops and a number of restaurants. A greater variety of larger shops and restaurants are available in nearby Puerto de Mazarron.

Another Great Stay

Just back from another great stay at this beautiful apartment.

This time we ate at Le Medusa Chula a few times and can highly recommend the Paella, very reasonably priced too at €8 per person.

The complex itself was busier this year which was nice and there are now a few pool loungers which is great, we usually managed to get one no matter what time we went for a dip.

We will be back soon!

Wonderful Views, Clean and Very Comfortable

We loved our stay in Isla Plana. We know the area well, but this apartment topped everywhere we have stayed so far. We spent hours just looking at the views which are amazing, sitting on the terrace with a glass or two! The beaches were only a short walk away and we visited them often. We felt the apartment had been furnished to a high standard. The bed especially was very comfortable and the shower was superb. We loved it all. It was great for the two of us and when our two children were small it would have been wonderful. An Excellent holiday on every level. The steps can be a challenge especially with shopping, but it kept us fit! We will be back!

Relax, chill, unwind

Spent a long weekend relaxing at this wonderful apartment. Views are fantastic and perfect for the first cup of tea in the morning sunshine and great views of the bay, including a surprised cruise past by Yacht A, which was amazing. Apartment was very clean and tidy and everything beautifully presented and all in working order and great condition. The charming garden is a great bonus for this apartment. The local village is a 10 minute walk away with everything needed to cater at home. You probably want to use the car for a big shop or taxi back which is easy to do. The lovely social club with its seating area next to the bay and quaint church is very relaxing and great value beer, spirits, wine and tapas. The best place to chill and unwind.

Winter Break

Our 10-week stay in this apartment at Isla Plan was great. The south-facing apartment is comfortable, very well appointed (including UK TV) with a fantastic view over the bay. The local area has convenience stores and restaurants and the nearby town of Puerto de Mazarron has large supermarkets and a greater variety of restaurants and other shops. There is an underground car park with a dedicated parking slot. The only downside for the infirm or those with young children is the number of steps to reach the apartment (96 steps from the roadway and 39 from the garage level). That said, my wife had a total knee replacement 4-months before our holiday and she managed the stairs easily.

The beaches and town of Isla Plan are (0.5km) a 10 minute short walk away and include hidden coves, small harbour, restaurants, church and community centre. More extensive beaches can be found by a short drive to Bahia, Bolnuevo or Puerto de Mazarrón. Many are blue flag beaches meeting European quality standards.


Isla Plan is widely accessible by road network, from the mainland and a number of airports;

• Murcia San Javier (45 mins)

• Alicante (90 mins)

• Almeria (100 mins)

• Corvera (25 mins) is awaiting final permissions to open

Ryanair, Flybe, Jet2Save, Easyjet and BA all fly regular flights daily and are excellent value when booked well in advance. Whilst a car is not essential, we recommend car hire to fully enjoy the area, available for pick up at all airports.


Isla Plan is a (0.5km) 10 min walk toward the sea and provides restaurants, pharmacy, supermarket, ATM and community centre.

The town of Puerto de Mazarrón is a short 10 min drive away and has extensive bars, restaurants, shops, retail and supermarkets.

Cartagena is a 30 min drive over the mountains and is steeped in history and architectural interest.

Murcia is the capital, including Baroque cathedral, water park and zoo. Whatever the season, there is something close by to enjoy!

Changeover Day:
Changeover days are flexible and only restricted by confirmed bookings. Access from 16.00 on first day and the apartment should be vacant by 10.00 on your last day.

Notes on prices:
There is air-con (heat & cool) throughout the apartment which runs on a card meter system and €10 credit is included per booking. More cards are available on arrival from the local resort rep if needed.
€70 charge per booking for changeover clean and laundry.
€25 key-holder fee per booking. Arrivals after 10pm or Sundays will incur a small premium charge for meet & greet.
A €200 returnable Security Bond is payable for each booking in case of damages and returned following departure and apartment checked.

Winter long lets available from €450 euro per month; plus expenses and final clean and laundry OR 50% of weekly fee, inclusive.
